The early 1980s vintage Dover hydraulics at my old workplace were pretty rough sometimes. Building maintenance director was a knucklehead, and didn't care that the company that was contracted to perform monthly maintenance... often didn't set foot on the property for months at a time but still charged. Close to half of the elevators were always low on hydraulic fluid; so they lurched, shuddered, and made a lot of noise as the fluid cavitated. Guests would often jump and get this freaked out look on their face as one was struggling to level.

This takes me back to when I had an abandoned building with the power left on. Both lifts were 60s otises similar to in this video, but they were 3 phase and no DC conversion. I went there every week. Both lifts were not working well and I did some fault finding and slowly worked out what the problems were. One lift was completely broke and wouldn't move no matter what. The other lift had a GAL door cam fault which caused the motor to keep trying to close the door. We managed to fix it but the fault kept returning. The GAL box needed replacing. In the end we took off the door belt to keep the door shut. The other fault it had was a dispatching fault. It would do one trip successful then it would shut down until the power was turned off and on. I blamed this on the other lift not working as the lifts had a complex relay system to share calls. In the end the building owner came and cut the cables of both lifts.

@benolifts5 жыл бұрын
@@rai.shraavan It was loads of fun. We could do whatever experiments we felt like doing to the lifts. On the last days before the building was pulled down we put random objects in the pit and had the lift come down and crush it. Some of the best fun I have ever had. You can only do this sort of thing in a demolition site when the power is still on, which is rare. The things we crushed were turned into a pile of rubble days later, so what we did didn't effect anyone.

These are called Psych wards, behavioral hospitals and are the worse state funded hospitals because they use the bare minimum they do not give a damn about the people. Its like being in a place where you can't leave and you are with disturbed patients and criminals. Your given or forced medications. And you could be subject to physical and verbal abuse from patients as well as bad staff. It is not a fun environment. It's like your an animal. Stripped of all dignity. Normally a person admitted in this case will be suffering from psychosis at the time of admission. YOU will never come back once you go in, your body yes but the drugs they'll put you on will basically make you brain dead. So it's absolutely terrifying. We call them Psychiatric hospitals. Some are better then others, in the USA state ones are the worst generally speaking. A private psych ward has a large amount of benefits that the state doesn't have and they don't treat you like a retard or prisoner, for those who can afford it. It is Scary. Stressful. Uncontrolled. Unpredictable. All you can do is remember you're surrounded by the craziest people in that part of the state...you will see things you will never forget.

If you look closely through the window as the elevator is moving, it’s completely black instead of a white door. This means the door was most likely opened on 3 which signifies that someone defeated the door mechanism for it to run with the door open which is incredibly dangerous.

Thats a cool lift in an creapy environment. Very interesting experiment to drive a 3phase lift with one phase + converter.
