@@Thyhorrorchannel Actually, filming police and other public employees is our civic duty. That's about the only way to hold them accountable for what they do. Filming cops in the course of their duties is allowed by law. And I don't think the military has anything to do with it. When I enlisted I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution so if anything I would have had to defend the right of the American citizens to video cops. We sometimes call it the freedom of the press. There's either case law or a Supreme Court decision.

Just saying, in the military, if you're in uniform, you aren't supposed to have your hands in your pockets. Some sergeant decided to go after my husband, who didn't have gloves with him. The other guy also was not in my husband's chain of command, so as long as it wasn't illegal, and my husband was not on duty, the other guy was really pushing it. It was pretty much the same story, take your hands out of your pockets, uh, no. Get your hands out, etc. My husband refused. They were both sergeants. I don't know how long it went on, but husband refused to take orders from a sergeant attending the school. My husband was an instructor. He wasn't about to concede to the other guy.

This widespread ignorance of constitutional rights by alleged police officers should frighten every American. This far reaching ignorance of the law is systemic. Chiefs of all police forces should have their positions jeopardize if their officers are found ignorant of Constitutional rights. When heads start to roll from the top, effective change will occur. Far too many policers have developed a Gestapo mentality, which has a negative connotation on all the men and women who honestly put on that uniform "to protect and to serve" the citizenry, and not the exercise of their oversized egos.

Unlawful orders like 'stand over there', 'sit on the ground' and 'hand out of packet's are the cornerstones for oppression. Unlawful orders intentionally escalate unreasonable force during routine police interactions. Think about how many innocent people are assaulted and even k'd by police every year. In fact, ‘We lock up a higher percentage of our people than any other nation on earth.’ - Madar, NYU. Pulitzer journalist investigating these abuse of powers have long warned we have become 'a two-tiered system of justice that ensures the country's officials, and oppressive police state are virtually immune from prosecution, licensed to act without restraint, while the politically powerless are imprisoned with greater ease and in greater numbers than in any other country in the world'. There is no greater threat than indoctrinated police force who get a rush out of acting and dressing indiscernible from occupied combat soldiers, imposing martial law and suspending habeas corpus. 'It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of enforcing law than by putting those decisions in the hands of officials who pay no price for being wrong.' History has amply demonstrated where this will end up - and it starts by censoring free speech - in fact comments like these are often censored. Unlawful demands to 'Show me your papers' must be resisted until the reality of that duplicity is revealed in their final solution - the prison for profit pipeline that benefits no one but the politically powerful and economic elite. Only in a police state is a free press a safety and security threat.
@TAC8172 ай бұрын
**Bonus** “the United States Supreme Court ruled that a police officer could not arrest a citizen merely for refusing to present identification.” (Kolender v. Lawson, 461 U.S. 352, 1983). “The freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state.” - U.S. Supreme Court (City of Houston v Hill, 482 U.S. 451, 1987) "Officers of the court have no immunity, when violating a Constitutional right, from liability. For they are deemed to know the law!” U.S. Supreme Court. (Owen v. Independence, 100 S.C.T. 1398, 445 US 622, ) The Court added with emphasis, "The knowledge that a municipality will be liable for all of its injurious conduct…should create an incentive for officials who may harbor doubts about the lawfulness of their intended actions to err on the side of protecting citizens." Only in a police state are our Bill of Rights a pejorative.
@MsLastof42 ай бұрын
Indeed - your comment was passive aggressively censored - but censored none the less. It does not grace the landing page, most likely auto-delayed or blocked for words in distilled paranoia of free speech. These aren't only plied by YT toxicity algorithms and shadow banning, but also by overzealous content creators. I'm torn between the irony and hypocrisy where a so-called champion of free speech fails to practice what they preach by intentionally participating in hiding messages - in censorship! Far too many rational comments discussing real solutions are 'held for approval' and many removed altogether. Some of these can be 'sorted by' back page where they are relegated to die on the vine without having ever been seen becouse most folks are uninformed. Content creators have a choice, champions of free speech have a responsibility to highlight affirmative substance or simplistic ideocracy. Instead some prefer manufacturing consent for the limited 7 sec attention span that trivializes everything. That's nonsense - not solutions. When our champions of free speech censor affirmative action - censor calls for organizing - we fail to have a unified voice. These are not radical ideas here folks, 'resource mobilization theory' has been very influential since its inception as effective political action. Our own short history reminds social activists of successful struggles that once defined us as the embodiment of similar grassroots 'movements that brought this nation’s practices into concert with its best ideals; the civil rights movement that brought down Jim Crow, the labor movement that resulted in regulations against child labor, and the women’s suffrage movement'. If we are to demand transparency and accountability from others - we need to first start with ourselves. We can't have honest and open discourse on resolutions for social change when we censor the vehicle necessary for resource mobilization. That vehicle is social media. Lets stop censoring one another and get on with the business of affirmative action. Censorship alone doesn't explain why our grassroots movement fails to organize. It's crucial we share and debate this framework including efforts by leaders to mobilize resources-most notably, time, money, and energy-of a supportive demographic and to direct them into effective political and legal action. History has amply demonstrated that a well-organized movement is often the catalyst for change. If this is so, the present conditions and associated discontent cannot easily explain why our community fails to organize for the common good.

Its been almost a decade since the 'Council on Criminal Justice Task Force on Policing' called for "complete overhaul of U.S. police training and national standards". The task force found "most police training in the United States is misfocused, too short, uses ineffective teaching methods, and is out of alignment with both community safety priorities and research about what works to minimize bias and use of force." The task force concluded. “Police departments need policies and standards that hold officers accountable - and leaders committed to changing the internal culture of their departments.” As of today law enforcements politically powerful police unions have blocked all legislative attempts by the public demanding reforms. The reason police state 'dresses and acts like occupied combat soldiers imposing martial law and suspending habeas corpus' are the order followers required to keep the precarity they mass in LINE. Considerable research has been devoted to how 'ordinary men' can become indoctrinated into following orders to commit the most heinous violations of civil and human rights. In fact, the Blue-LINE we're told, represents holding the LINE against lawlessness. Ironically the L'INE' is an acronym for a close-quarters combat system utilized by the United States military, an idea borrowed file and rank by law enforcement for repressive controls. Officially, the "LINE" name stands for "Linear Infighting Neural-override Engagement." According to US military training "the LINE system was designed to be executed within specific and stringent combat-oriented conditions". (a.) Where techniques executed effectively in visibly impaired conditions (i.e., smoke or gas) (b.) extreme mental and physical fatigue (c.) usable by the soldier while wearing full combat gear (d.) proper execution of the techniques must cause death to the opponent (e.) gender neutrality; must be usable by-and against-either gender A shocking endorsement to a blue-LINE culture of excessive force in an emerging police state that focuses on military enhancements as hegemonic policy.

@nachopretzel35332 ай бұрын
@Avreem the real crooks are the tyrants that keep throwing our taxes away because their ego is enforcing unlawful conduct. Our government and law enforcement is costing tax payers hundreds of billions every year in settlement cases . I blame the these fake blue collars tyrants that constantly refuse to do the job as it should be done.

Some of the most uninformed cops I have ever seen. 1. Completely legal to film from public 2. Public filming can not be considered a disturbance or violation of law. 3. You can not detain someone without suspicion of a crime. 4. You can not search someone without draining them.

Loved it when Shawn said " Take your hands out of your pockets ma'am for my safety" to Gonzalez. If she was that scared, why was she smiling saying yes to him. Why was she not somewhere safe. Officer Melonee said, "You're scaring the public." Did everybody else see all those people running? ....................Me neither. So, if a citizen stops and talks to an officer they have to be searched, Officer Melonee? Officer Santa needs more milk and cookies.
