I know; I felt sick after hearing that! I can only hope that it was because of some combo of these things: The couple could have called the cops after they successfully got the ex out of the house the 1st time. The couple was two against one and just might have missed good opportunities that they had to defend themselves against one ex. They were somehow involved in some kind of counter-assault, even though the ex was the one who broke in. Either way, it sounded to me like it should be life in prison.
