@@jase-listenerNo they were not. That’d be the late, great inspiration for every single move Seth ever made- My friend alongside him was a kid who had the only thing that mattered to Seth’s ego. John McCarthy hiring him as a part of PostMortem from Boston Massachusetts ( there’s been like a dozen bands who’ve taken the name from us or the term. We appeared in an issue of KERRANG!! magazine’s Bands To Watch Out For and Slayer were on the cover promoting Hell Awaits in 1985; fast forward to their’86 opus Reign In Blood and til the day we lost him to liver failure ( ironically the same as Jeff Hanneman died from in’12!), but he was convinced they’d stolen it from our band. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but sadly Seth and myself were frenemies until I hooked up with Kilslug in 2009 meeting him and those other two guys attending McCarthy funeral in February Of 2009. This is whom Seth wanted to literally exist as. Even more unnerving is he died from an overdose on June 12,2012; which would’ve been Johnny boys 44th birthday! Okay.? And We were all hanging out at a club We’d both played in just a bit before I received a call about Seth’s passing on. This kid clearly isn’t a fan. Met Seth and AxCx in the 90s when they played a basement show in Memphis TN. The band told the promoter that he could take their entire cash payment and buy them that dollar amounts worth of crack, which they smoked before the show. This show was the local talk of the town for Seth r repeatedly performing the Nazi Sieg Heil salute and succesfully getting the audience to join in. I spoke with the band after the show and they were friendly, albeit not enthusiastic, probably due to coming down off of hundreds of dollars worth of crack. In my oponion, AxCx were one of the greatest bands ever and an interesting social experiment that definitively proved that getting offended is, in fact, gay.

Ohh really.? So was that when he was playing in Satan’s Warriors with Postmortem’s Ricky McGiver or afterwards? This video is making Seth’s memory a goddamned joke so naturally being a good friend and being in an earlier version of AC’91??); I was pissed off at the way he’s making Seth sound so I’ve written him 👏. I received the call from the police on the morning of Seth’s death; now what’s interesting about that is that this band PostMortem ? Well. Seth’s not only on our Side One 7” which came out in’90, but also he’d have given his right leg to be in the band. I’m positive. I was very closely involved with all of these groups and luckily I played for them for awhile so Seth naturally hated Me. Well, not really. I mean I was hanging out with him specifically and almost joined Adolph Satan from Kilslug in the 2009-12 era, but he and I made up after his envying my playing for one of his best friends and mine plus the singer from some band called PostMortem and no. Slayer stole it from US! 😂 John McCarthy was the original vocalist for my band Mortem who influenced Seth’s brain memory more than anyone else’s. Yes, it’s true I’m afraid. Seth was an identity thief who literally wanted to pretend the things which happened with McCarthy happened to him so much to the point where as he killed himself on the same date that John McCarthy would’ve turned 44 had he not passed aeay from liver failure 2.5 years earlier 6/12/2012- McCarthy would be 44 so why’d Seth choose that particular date to die. No trust me. It’s no coincidence either. Seth was getting sick and tired of AC. His new band called Full Blown Aids was amazing too! Seth was an excellent player and played lefty guitar. I really don’t appreciate the kid who made him out to be a joke in this video though and I did write him telling him that. Take care of yourself man. Seth Putnam, for all his issues, was a pioneer in New England extreme music. And he was hilarious. He was chill most of the time, except when he was smoking crack. Seth was a great musician, although you couldn't tell from AxCx's records. I saw AxCx live a handful of times in the early 90s, although spent most of the time making out in the back. It was when i was in 9th and 10th grade. AxCx's last album, "F..k'n A", was really great. It's basically glam metal mixed with grindcore. One of the songs is basically a cover of Vince Neill's "You're invited (but your friends can't come)". Tim Morse and Scott Hull started a band called Agoraphobic Nosebleed while AC was on hiatus. Harvard isn't in England, it's in New England--specifically it's on the other side of Boston from the town where Seth Putnam grew up and where AxCx was based. Depending on time of day, it takes anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to drive between them, depending on whether it's rush hour, and whether you cross the Charles in Boston/Brookline or go through Watertown/Brighton, etc. If you bike you can probably do it in 15-20 minutes. Newton's not exactly "wrong side of the tracks" either, it's a very well-off town (it's where JFK was born). Historically sent a lot of young people to Harvard, actually. Anyway, it may sound weird to outsiders, but AxCx playing Harvard would've been a fairly mundane thing for any band in their position. The live music and underground music scenes in the Boston metro have always been really active (way more-so in the past before exploding rents shut down all of the remaining music venues and the owners of a lot of the great old party houses eventually sold) since the dawn of live music as we know it, and that includes Cambridge, and all of the universities in the area including BU, BC, UMASS, MIT, Tufts, Emerson, Northeastern, and yep- Harvard. All of the area schools have deep histories of hosting bands, serving as tour stops, etc, both legally and extra-legally/through house shows and whatnot. These usually aren't exclusive shows for students or house/club members either, there's usually people from the broader community and scene, other schools, etc, there too. Back in the day when college radio mattered you might even see people from labels at a university basement show. It's not nearly as "Eyes Wide Shut" as it sounds (and to go to any Boston area school at this point you have to be either rich, or crazy in debt, or have struck financial aid gold) but there can definitely be a town/gown split with the more elite schools for sure, and incidents involving students, musicians, townies, campus security, etc aren't exactly a rare occurrence.

I came away from meeting Seth (via my local band, Napalm Death) convinced he was (literally) a performance artist, ie acting a role all the time he was in public. I say this because the Seth I met was chilled, kind and very intelligent. Are we guilty of confusing the man with the act / myth?
@djinnxx7050Ай бұрын
Maybe you only met him when he had had his fix, and the stories of him being an ass are due to not having had a fix? I get irritable enough as it is if I don't get a decent cup of tea in the morning, I can't imagine what kinda immense douchenozzle I'd be if I was on something heavier.

You want to achieve the sound of extreme don't expect the creators to be nice, polite, political correct people. AxCx was one of the few bands who took the " Fuc* you all" attitude quite seriously. I do believe Seth was a Dic*, but i couldn't care less when i listen to his music

I lived in Boston in the early 00’s. I saw AxCx many times. One time Seth refused to play until someone gave him some heroin and crack. A true solder fixed Seth up and they where great. I think Full Blown AIDS was my fave project of his. There was a story about him before he died in a Boston paper that stated he had overdosed on a two month supply of Ambien. He was in a coma for 2 months which really speaks to the effectiveness of Ambien. Seth was always nice to me the few times I talked to him but I’ve seen him be super mean to people. There was this rocker guy Mike D in Boston. I remember multiple shows where Seth made fun of Mike D relentlessly from the stage. I’m not sure why Seth hated this guy but I felt bad for him.

He was intelligent enough to know his audience and ya’ll had made him a millionaire before he died. I know that. I received the call from the police that he’d been pronounced dead on the same day that McCarthy ( who Seth’s wanted to be since we’ve been little kids) would’ve turned 44 years old had he not died from liver failure on the 27th Of July 2009. My best friends are all dead now. Off stage Seth’s a different type altogether from what he was like performing live. He took his life on June 12,2012. @@3L_B4R7O Yeah, if only that stuff were true, aye?? lol Nah. Seth’s never ripped off John McCarthy from PostMortem whatsoever and his dying purposely I might add is just a crazy coincidence. Johnny died on the 27th January 2009. He would’ve been a 44 year old man had he lived on June 12,2012- same time after hanging out with Seth Putnam after our show at a place called Champions in Everett, Mass. I got a call from the police saying that Seth was unresponsive and that he had been pronounced dead on his best friend and guy whom he had wanted to be since childhood after many years of playing and growing up together in Belmont w/ Seth moving to Newton Corner and just commuting to see one another, but I’ll never let this kid who’s talking shite about his character go; cuz I wrote to him about tarnishing Seth’s reputation as a great human being ffsakes. A.C. was just a joke that became more believable cuz Seth knew exactly what kind of person would’ve been attracted by this crap and looks like you all fell for Seth’s plan. In real life he was my friend and I his. I would like to think he’d be sticking up for Me if he’d seen some English kid trashing my good name too lol, but about 30% of Seth’s stories are true. He was emulating John McCarthy from PostMortem whom he most definitely wanted to exist as- now that’s the real truth! Still. I don’t approve this guy who’s entirely making shit up so he can get new or more subscribers? No. Fuck him and I wrote him yesterday about telling people bullshit as he could be sued for slander and lying about him. Hey man, I still know Seth’s family and have her phone number as well! @@jessickalush3305 Story on how the whole thing originated happened goes back to 1988-89(?) when we ( PostMortem) had a gig during a blizzard where some band called Cannibal Corpse were opening for Us at Bunratty’s in Allston, MASS. We’d broken down and had to carry our equipment into their club which’s like a mile away from the van! We said fuck this and Ricky McGiver just grabbed a snare and hi- hat cymbals and McCarthy took an acoustic guitar and we’re inside trying to save our show and telling everyone what’s happened with our van being stuck on the middle of Comm. Ave. So we started playing our material on this beat up guitar acoustic and Rick was on the drums when Johnny starts singing into his microphone and then these guys whose reputation is already gaining a decent reputation come into the place and see Us playing stuff like Waiting For The Funeral and I Want To Die only once Barnes sees us he’s going upstairs to get the manager and bitching about our act! Is this a joke!? 🤬 Don’t YOU guys know who WE are!? Lifting all their equipment into the club and people who are there are really digging us doing this job plus they understand what’s gone wrong and why we had to go on like that MTV Acoustic session with no other choice cuz they had heard of PostMortem before too! Chris Barnes did not have any actual cred back then like he’s garnered through the years of that band pushing their grotesque album covers on little kids who like a Halloween kinda act as opposed to a bunch of idiots who have 3 albums out themselves ( Us), but Seth’s sitting in the background watching all of these guys walking around in a way like they’ve got pumpkins under their arms- ya know; the tough guy walk.!? Seth’s been drinking alongside the band and apparently Cannibal Corpse was going to leave without playing their set? They also demanded that they be paid for coming all the way from wherever they’re from not even watching our set and we killed it! Long story short- All of Us heard bottles being thrown from whereabouts Seth’s sitting at once and him and Barnes were right up in each other’s faces when Barnes chest bumps Seth and he’s a pretty big boy however Seth’s crazy and I told him don’t let them bother you man.c’mon Seth. Seth.? Shit! I thought he was behind me and I turned right to seeing these guys getting their fake crap together to I guess.. throw or wear.? 🤷🏻♂️ idk what the fuck these people do onstage , but it just goes to show how loyal Seth really was when they came on we went up to the bar and next thing I knew they turned hugely popular with banned album covers etc, but my singer once jumped off stage and started dancing the Dosey Doh with a black dude in front of the stage at The Rathskeller which was packed and Seth’s just standing right in front of Me staring at me ( he’s as jealous as Hell cuz they were the one thing that he could not have been a part of), but I mean despite the circumstances and whatever you read in my sign off’s the truth is that a stupid little joke band made Seth a millionaire before he died and his own life story’s totally fabricated info. He was an identity thief who had always wanted to be John McCarthy from PostMortem. He showed his true colors when hanging out with people who could’ve helped our careers and chose not to, ok. And he wasn’t even trying to be a real friend after Digby picking them up in the United Kingdom either. So much like the man in the Wizard Of Oz who’s behind the curtain; it is best not to see him doing the one thing that’ll take away any real magic 🪄 Or what ya’ll perceive as real, but nope Seth setting up his key audience whose naivety paved the way for him dying that rich speaks volumes about his onstage presence, but not after he had made up with yours truly during our 20+ year hiatus drinking a root beer at the bar on his final night being alive. He grew up with us all playing in a variety of different places and when he was able to carve out a niche for himself? He just never looked back at Us knowing how hard we needed him. So if you still think Seth’s hilarious then check out the actual person that he stole every single thought from-?John McCarthy 6/12/68-09. Seth Putnam dead on 6/12/12.. enough said? Sincerely, DJP Anal Cunt; Postmortem and Kilslug Sony; Earache 🇬🇧 Columbia and TAANG!! Records @ ALL RIGHTS RESERVED by copyright infringement laws worldwide via Boston Massachusetts Amerikkka soon to become America come the next year so I hope!
