As someone who has played fighting games like this for years, I can confirm that this is 100% accurate. The only thing that's missing in this video is the boss telling him to add a very long obnoxious combo move to every character that they only have 0.5 seconds to pull off.

Somewhat agree and disagree. I do agree Cilvanis has talent and he def has something great going here, even without the anime tracks. But same time, it's hard to deny that the anime background music tracks added a certain charm to many of his skits, particularly the anime-related ones. I think the best of both worlds path is going to be paying licensing fees for anime music tracks once in a while and putting out great vids like this one that are royalty free. Anime references and humor are something all of us would love to see sticking around.

I'm a software engineer. I'm not in the game development industry but I've tried my hands on some basic game development and what I learned was that it's far, far, far easier to make difficult games than it is to make enjoyable games that people can finally beat with some struggling. Because for developers, all that needs to be done is change a number and maybe a trap becomes so fast it's impossible to avoid, or an attack becomes so powerful it's impossible to win against. Finding that balance of difficulty and fun seemed much more challenging to me compared to just coding up a level or enemy character.

I like to imagine the game did great and was perfectly balanced, but once the dlc hit, people had to buy the dlc in order to have a fighting chance, eventually people started to complain and drop the game. This is when the director says "just as planned..., You see, we create a well balanced engaging game, and destroy it with dlc, and once we have maximized our profits, we begin phase 2. We announce a second game, where the dlc character is included and balanced, along with buffs to weaker characters to make the game super great and add a few characters as a bonus... Wait for people to fall in love all over again... And then... We initiate the dlc phase. You see... It's a cycle. This is how we keep the money rolling. It's how we do things around here. *Evil laughter*

I almost gave up on FGs because I mainly play low tier characters. I hate playing the meta because it's boring to me to play same character everyone else is playing. And it's annoying when I take the worst characters in the game and I FORCE them to be viable . Only for then to get nerfed even more into the gutter specifically nerfing my strategies and then buff the already strong characters. It's even worse when player expression gets nerfed.
