Yes, when you want to show that you can do something as hard as dancing on Ice and then you crash. That must be heartbreaking. Heck, I'm doing good to walk on dry land. Put me on Ice, there'd better be a Medical team close by. Makes me think about 7th grade typing class. At home practicing, I fly like the wind. In class it was one big joke that wasn't funny. It’s so admirable ❤️ I used to do figure skating a few years ago and as someone who was not very consistent, I usually fell around 2-5 times during a program 😂 It is hard to get back up, not just physically but also mentally because you know that as soon as you make a big mistake like that, you pretty much have no shot at the podium, especially in high-level competitions like the Olympics. My competitions were never anything big or life-impacting but it’s so hard when you’ve spent all the time practicing and then you go out to do it and you fall and you’re just thinking “well that’s the end of that I guess, now I just suffer through the rest of this and try not to completely die” 😭 I admire their professionalism so much, and it’s even harder for them because it’s their literal career and not just a hobby like it was for me

One thing that I love most about figure skating, is the beautiful sportsmanship majority of the time. These skaters work incredibly hard training for those big show moments, and it's devastating when they mess up or get injured. But that last one, stopping to go and help someone who's fallen is beautiful, and finishing the line together.

so did the 2 men judges besides her. believe it or not, judges participate in a lot of competitions and see lots of skaters, and of course they see falls everyday. And the skaters fall everyday too when they practice

I feel sorry for the skaters who fall (except you Yuzu it’s too funny) but calculating distances and pick the right momentum to jump is also part of the training… they know that if they get too close to the boards it can disturb their landings or they can crash into it. Yuma Kagiyama was literally 20cm away from the boards and was like : « nope, I still have room to jump » lmao 🤣
