Ive flown southwest, & they're 100% comedians.. even the pilots.. on my flight, the pilot pretended to be han solo w chewy as his co pilot.. the entire flight from start to finish was him getting on the intercom & telling us different star wars'esque things that were goin on around us.. like hed say, if u look to ur left, theres a ty fighter approaching us w bad intentions, we're gonna make a quick maneuver, hang tight.. he'd then dip the wings, & like u could hear the co pilot chewy, making growling sounds in the back.. the whole flight was hella fun 😂🤣

I was on a Southwest flight once when the Captain (very nice guy) was pretending to forget the name of the Grand Canyon as we were flying over it coming into Vegas after a LONG transcontinental flight. The flight attendants were hilarious too 🤣

I worked for 30 years as a flight attendant. No I was not the comedian, however there were those days that a little devil made me do things and had the passengers laughing. At my company we had true comedians sometimes. Even the cockpit crew could give some announcements that had the passengers laugh. It's what kept me going for 30 years and I only look back at a fantastic time during my working life. Never considered the job as actual working, just going from A to B and making the best of it.... a pleasant time.

I definitely join in the fun when I can. On a Southwest flight earlier this year, people were taking a long time to find their seats and get seated. One of the flight attendants comes on the PA and says "Please pick the first available seat and put your bag up so we can leave on time" I respond with "Isn't it Southwest policy that the last passenger to get seated has to buy drinks for everyone on board" Somebody else responds with "I think so" And the entire plane erupts in laughter.

I was on a Danish SAS flight long before it became ok to be funny. But the weather was bad with an awful turbulence and the pilot obviously knew how many felt about it. So he came on the speaker and told us when we were going to land in Aalborg and that he had an appointment with his wife to go to the theater that night to watch a musical. And then he asked if any of us had similar plans or if we were point to or had seen something else worth going to. At first, people looked a little sceptical, but then a woman raised her hand and told about a play she had seen with Søren Pilmark and how funny it was. Then another chimed in with his experience. A thrird told us that he wanted to see the musical the pilot was to go to. And all of the sudden, the whole cabin was discussing musicals vs plays vs movies etc. And bad weather and turbulence? Nobody had time for that. We were busy debating. Best short haul flight I ever had. By the way.
