Frieza’s formalities are lost whenever he gets mad or arrogant to show how fake he really is. I like this better than so many other moments because this hits every beat: It shows how far Frieza has come, actually acknowledging he has gotten stronger rather than letting him be upstaged by some random giblet just waddled their ass into the story, It's in-character, the Frieza we know WOULD pull some shit like this, And, though somewhat contradictory with my first point, it utilizes something other than power jargon and nonsense to explain wtf just happened; it had Frieza thinking intelligently and that paying off. Even if he couldn't beat this mf without a helluva fight, we have seen cases in the past where even being on a similar power level, though even if it doesn't allow you to win out through raw power, does generally make you able to diversify your tactics, you can use something that's not just overpowering your opponent or being faster than them, something that just should have been used more in this series, to make the fights more interesting, something new, a focus on battles of wits and experience rather than just taking the absolute worst aspects of DBZ's power scale and storytelling that existed and turning them to an 11 AND making them the focus.
