There's also a whole line of genestealers that the hivemind _doesn't want back._ Nobody knows exactly why but the hive fleets actively avoid any worlds they're active on. They've tried to migrate to a planet in the path of a splinter fleet at least once...only to have that fleet suddenly turn around and go somewhere else.

Chaos did fuck all except write Ka'Bandhas name on one of the moons after getting his ass handed to him by Mephiston and the rest of the blood angel librarians. Chaos only invaded on the secondary moon away from all of the action and were only important in the story of how the Flesh Tearers saw themselves and their ending in the destruction of that other chapter. Ka'Bandha didn’t even manage to turn the other chapter.

I don’t remember the book saying that the demons damaged the fleet. I know Ka’Banda fell through space and saw the fleet battle and then the demons and tyranids on the moon fought. I might just have forgotten something. Apologies if that is the case however I do remember that after the rift opened a very large portion of the fleet was destroyed due to how the opening of the great rift affected the hive mind. In that way I guess chaos did inadvertently help the blood angels but I know Guiliman told Dante after the fight that he had basically beaten the Tyranids before the crusade got there but that could just be the G man trying to cheer Dante up. Either way it was still a great book and i’m a massive Imperium simp so fuck chaos. (I am joking sorry if that didn’t come across earlier)

To be fair, most of them don't get willingly turned. I mean, as far as mary sues go, space marines are full of them. They absolutely cannot solo a marine chapter, but back in 3rd edition, a squad of them could easily pop a land raider, so you still don't want to get in melee with them.

They're really not overpowered, just very fast and have physics-defying warp-infused claws that cut through anything. Tyranid claws are similar to power swords because they're all psychic. Terminators can mow them down easily, but if the Genestealers get into close combat the Terminators aren't necessarily going to win. I mean, imagine how useless the Genestealers would be if they couldn't shred armor?

Having played the original Space Hulk a fair bit, thats not entirely true tbh. Sure they CAN take out a Terminator, if they get close enough at all. But a zerg-rush of Genestealers towards Marines with heavy weapons would be just a wasteful idea.

To be fair I understand in the tabletop that Genestealers (or at least give fleet ones) tend to keep within top 5 of their class of unit? Like don’t the 8th and 9th edition ones pretty much have super speed with the right setup?

​@@Thesavagesouls they have special weapons that are effective against heavy armor. But still a Terminator can quickly kill several genestealers, so I would say they are significantly weaker.

@@brettwood1351 That's what I don't get. Terminators have the some of the strongest armor among mankind's footsoldiers, making them slow and clumsy, even. Why would you send them into space hulks, if their armor does nothing? Having mobility instead and _fitting through the corridors_ seems like a better deal.
