The ironic thing about this video is that George Washington hated his publicity, he didn't even want to be president but people refused to have a country without him being the leader of it so he ran due to influence of the people. And when the first term came to an end he was excited to leave but people still wanted him as leader which is what led to the second term presidency to be created. Heck, since George was the first person to be sworn in as president he was scared because he had no idea how to do it, from what I can recall (if I recall it correctly) he died shortly after leaving presidency

Louisiana purchase was in 1803, Lewis and Clark expedition in 1805, Oregon Country was created in 1818 as a joint occupation between the U.S. and U.K before which the area was territory of New Spain. Provisional Government of Oregon was created in 1846, after the British ceded the territory to the U.S. Oregon Territory was established shortly after and "Washington Territory" was split from it in 1853. Washington Territory became a state in 1889, after Idaho Territory split off in 1863. My point is George Washington died 6 years before the U.S. government learned of the extent of the land west of the Louisiana Purchase,19 years before the U.S. took partial control, and 47 years before full control. Making it neigh impossible for George Washington to suggest naming an area he didn't know existed as "Columbia State". Also, Federal City was established with Residence Act of 1790 during the 1st United States Congress which was held in NYC. The capital of the U.S. moved from NYC to Philly then to "District of Columbia/Federal City" in 1800. After the death of George Washington and 10 years after its establishment, Federal City was renamed Washington City. When Washington was alive we had neither Washington City nor Washington State.

Washington is a mythological figure, that didn't want all the mythology around him. people that want to promote something as patriotic or nationalistic will attach his name to garner support if it can't get it any other way. Washington DC for instance was not a very popular idea because concentrating all the Federal power in one location meant that backroom deals could be made and you might end up with a lobbying class of people, so they attached Washington's name to it in order to get it passed.

Ironically, George was probably the most humble president in history. Idk if they still teach this in schools, but Washington refused being KING when the people wanted that because he was so amazing, and that just made him more amazing. He’s really one of the greatest people in U.S history and I wish more people would start seeing that again. Washington deserves better than to be mocked like this. He’s as great a man as Lincoln and I think they would’ve gotten along tremendously.
