It's weird thinking that these elderly Frenchmen might have been WWI veterans, fighting in the same conditions and thinking "Now this is the battle I'm used to when I was younger" since there were a lot of forts in WWI. Heck, some of them might've even been from Verdun, fighting in fortresses like Vaux or Douaumont. Not sure if it would be the best idea. The media and unwashed twitter hate mob would probably ignorantly bash it for being pro-nazi if we tried showing US and German soldiers fighting side by side, especially if we show Captain Schrader(a SS officer, which is only allowed to be a bad guy by current day political standards)
@justanunluckyirishmaninabl51784 жыл бұрын
that is a possibility, but the bashing has potential to work against the “ignorant hate mob” and bring increasing publicity and discussion around their target. Especially if the writing for such a film is handled well. A character arc of disillusionment, redemption and sacrifice created for Gungl and Schrader could be just the thing to shatter the stereotype that all Germans of the time were twisted evil nazis and convey the respect that many veterans felt for the soldiers of the Wehrmacht. Great things are rarely achieved by the fear of backlash and controversy.
@NinjaAO424 жыл бұрын

really appreciate how you guys took the suggestions, the clothes are looking a million times better now! Plus, there is a lot of hidden details in the background, like the Yarnhub cat putting a helmet or the S.S Soldier doing a flip in the background, best Christmas present ever, so cheers and thanks a lot, guys! For my suggestion, this time would be add bullet casings flying out of the weapon according to the rate of fire. Now, I now this would be a pain because animation like this in a timely manner is not easy to make, but it would really be an excelent spot to see different bullet cases from different weapons flying out with their sounds hitting the ground. Other than that, I really, really appreciate how you guys take the time to read the comments and make improvements, I see you were working a lot on vehicles, even the gears in the wheels, like in 6:52 look awesome, detailed, smooth, and the uniforms and general outlines of the characters look better, is a hell of a work to make improvements while making content with strict deadlines so props to you, gentlemen, I hope you get the best Christmas ever. Now even before this event, relationship between Wehrmacht and SS was actually bad. SS officers considered themselves as loyalty of sort just like back in German Empire or Prussian times, and thought of Wehrmacht as army formed by ‘peasants’ while Wehrmacht officers thought of SS officers as fancy guys with nice clothings, while taking supplies that they needed.
@PolishHussar043 жыл бұрын
Interesting I didn't knew that
@thirstyserpent10793 жыл бұрын
If you read some of the stuff from late in the war, the SS was especially bad with this shit. There are all manner of accounts from ex German soldiers talking about SS who did shit like show up and "Requisition" food from people on train station platforms or force conscript entire villages of their male population above the age of 6. By the time of the Battle of Berlin, there were cases where they were doing stuff like mass recruiting children as young as 6 then sending them in wave attacks against soviet forces in counter attacks. One specific instance I recall from a german conscripts book was a mass attack in the night involving 10k child soldiers.
@nickbell49842 жыл бұрын
It was kind of the other way around. The SS had their loyalties towards Hitler and the Nazi party while the Wehrmacht were made up of normal Germans lead by Prussian generals. Hitler hated the Prussian generals. Though, the SS and Wehrmacht certainly didn't get on.
