2 weeks into dating my now partner, I asked him what his views were when it comes to sex and he said he would rather build a solid foundation first, and then when we do decide to have sex it will be more intimate and special. I was on the same page but definitely had some “too good to be true” thoughts in my head lol but told myself to trust in him. Safe to say 10months down the track, we still haven’t slept together and have had the most happiest and healthiest relationship thus far. Communication is on point, we talk about kids, marriage etc. after a couple bad relationships, that did heavily revolve around sex, it’s super refreshing to have finally found someone who speaks long term into our relationship, even though there is no sex involved. Waiting is worthwhile!

I have learned that a man who is serious is intentional in asking questions about me. Not just to create a "intellectual conversation", but to really get to know me. I've noticed that when I like someone, I wonder a lot of things about him and that would create the interest to know more about him. In the same way he will wonder and ask questions.

The list of questions is idealistic. I was married for almost decade and even my ex husband never verbalized his intentions until shortly before he proposed. Many men simply fall in love when the chemistry is right and start making plans afterwards.
@yolondalogan33093 жыл бұрын
Kia D. If you don't mind me saying and if you are receptive a suggestion, once WE as women know that we are interested in the possibility of a future, ie marriage to a man, WE should begin the thorough questions that move the process along, if he hasn't approached us with these questions first. Personally, I've learned not to waist my own time. It's not being foolish or taking the lead ahead of a man to just begin your selection process...right away. Rather than waiting for him to begin his before you begin yours. Personally, I don't think it's wise to assume that a man isn't interested in a serious relationship just because he didn't start the selection process first. If he expresses an interest first...you know he interested. If you start you're selection process first...you're going to find out FOR SURE one way or the other if he's interested in a serious relationship with you. Keep in mind, since this is your initial selection process questioning and or offering of information about yourself that you are presenting, you may find out that he eliminates himself. Even if you are attracted physically but he doesn't fear God's consequences, for example, he's eliminated from the prayed over selection process that prevents wild rides, lack of health, infidelity and poverty, divorce and a host of other detrimental experiences. I believe it's understandable to move through the initial selection process as quickly as possible. No excuses for elimination. That's the purpose. Elimination isn't judgement. We ourselves might be eliminated from a man's selection process. We're still amazing and so are they, just not together. Now, as Stephan has said many times, we can move on without the emotional baggage associated with investing too much time and effort into a man who isn't the 1 God has for us. In all transparency, I'm initially interested in a man right now. He's very inspiring and helpful Spiritually and verbally. I have already begun my prayed over selection process. I actually sent him my 'resume'. In the past, I have never done this. But because this man doesn't know me and because I highly value my time, I prayed over it and sent my information. The next step is his. In prayer I release it to God. If he's interested in me and chooses to take me through his prayed over selection process as well, then we both are on the same page..but this is still initial. We are both determined to be wise about it though. This way you know where you stand. If either of us is eliminated from the other's prayed over selection process, we can choose to go forward as friends, brother and sister in Christ or either of us can choose that it's best to just to leave each other alone. This way you know where you stand. The Bible says be anxious for nothing. So I'm not even truly waiting for this man's response. I actually truly trust God that HE controls this. If it is meant to be then God will see to it that it happens. This is new territory for me. But it feels amazing! If the man I'm interested in is the 1 God has for me, then that means I'm the 1 God has for him and we both win. If we're not the 1 for each other, then we both still win because we now know this, and can move on confidently in the process to find the 1 that God does have for each of us. May God bless and keep you.Amen.

@@yolondalogan3309 I think you missed my point. Having been a wife for years and dating intentionally with remarriage in mind now, men and women have different approaches to the vetting process. Your faith aside, if a man doesn’t see you as his potential wife your questions won’t elicit the responses you desire. I suggest critically listening when a man speaks rather than posing a list of questions. If you hear coded language and uncertain/ambiguous responses to basic questions about his future, then you have your answers. No need to interrogate or interview further. Just listen critically and watch how he moves.

1) Never EVER be afraid of losing him. You are the Divine feminine. Let him fear losing YOU! 2) Have an EXTREMELY low tolerance level for bad behavior... AVOIDANT or NARCISSIST? Let's be real. It's irrelevant. They behave the same. The damage they do is the same. The trauma they cause is the same. FUCK THEM BOTH. So, When there’s a disagreement, an argument, a conflict, some bullying, disrespect, boundaries being crossed etc... someone will inevitably, most likely, be disappointed in me... So, I engage in each and every situation in a way that ensures, that the person disappointed in me, NEVER ENDS UP BEING ME! I aim to never repress, never suppress. I aim to never lose parts of myself. Radical honesty only: 100% of the time. Always, all ways. AND REMEMBER: to test if ANY relationship is healthy - you've got to judge the relationship on its bad days, not on its good days!

I’m ambivalent about some of the info in this video. Experience has taught me to not EVER give that personal information to a man early on. Because there are absolutely a plethora of narcissists who WILL go through that effort to get that information just to infiltrate your life to destroy it. These are conversations to have after having dated for at least 3 months. Because honestly, you will see red flags very early on….without having to give up information about your dreams and desires. That’s very risky. They will be that man for 3 days and then these narcissists will have their hooks in you. Nope. Wait. Keep it surface level for a few months….

Things didn't change when we had the waiting for marriage talk, he continued being consistent and intentional, even more deeply actually. When we were dating the signs Stephen discusses here and in other videos were evident. No sex till marriage. Time spent getting to know each other. No games... We honestly told each other what we wanted in a relationship. We fell fast.... Married seven months after meeting, but we had spent so many hours together talking, working together, interacting with family, that we knew for sure we were going to work together. We are planning a renewing of the vows ceremony for our 25th. I have listened to dozens of Stephen's videos and haven't heard anything I disagree with yet. hey stephan this is good stuff to hear as a man, but it should he understood that a lot of great guys wont necessarily want to be the ones to broach these subjects for fear of coming on “too strong” woman should be encouraged to bring these subjects up and see where the guy stands to reveal his intentions as opposed to assuming if the guy isnt saying this stuff hes not considering it great video as always

You never realize the things you have done wrong in life until someone gives you an explanation of your faults. I found where I need to be more vulnerable! In accepting help from a man and passing no judgement. I always tell a man I got it. I never wanted to deal with the after math of the situation. So I make sure that I always have held my own... so they cant ask me for sex. Thats why I work so much... So this is going to be very hard for me but I am willing to try it, in order to see change...

Really great video. Agree, that if he is showing interest in asking these specific questions he must be a man who is invested in the relationship and a potential future. When a man can see you in his long term plans and when he can see you in his future, that is a good way to know that he must be serious. When he is interested in your goals, aspirations and dreams, he is trying to see how you can align in his life and if you have shared common direction. Very insightful video, thank you being informative. Clarity minimizes confusion. Blessing and abundance to you.

I’ve never had a man I’ve dated ask what he could do for me. I’ve either had to ask for his help ( for which he made me feel bad for asking) or if I ask for help he will instruct me on what I need to do instead of stepping in and helping to make things easier for me. Also, Thank you for bringing up how some men think that a woman’s body is a form of payment for a favor given. It has a prostitute feel and is very embarrassing. That’s why I don’t ask for favors… this is something I have to get past and deal with it as it comes, like you said, I don’t want to turn away the right man.

This is an awesome video! So true all of what you said Stephan 🥰 a man will definitely ask you about your dreams, goals, and aspirations. One time I remember having a conversation where a guy would share his dreams, and goals with me, then stop with excitement and ask me if I could have any job in the world 🌎 what would it be, and then he went back to sharing more of what he loved, then came back to me and was like “oh, wait, you haven’t answered me yet!” I told him “it’s okay I know you are excited and I love seeing that!”. I did share when he was finished, and he was full attention listening to me, it was cute how it played out, so yes men will do this! Desires, needs, boundaries, etc should be sprinkled in from day one ✨ which I feel a good man will absorb, accommodate/process, and apply because he truly wants to honor you. Good men want to stand tall next to you and they do that by learning about you in this way! The ones that don’t WILL fall out, and we shall let them 🥳 Wanting kids question does expose a lot of what is on the mind of a man, and woman too. I remember a man finding me on a dating profile, and saw my children status. He privately, excitedly messaged me, asking if I wanted children because my status said “has child at home doesn’t want more” and he wanted to make sure I felt that way I realized. My answer to him was “I didn’t want to raise anymore children on my own” (my daughter’s Dad does right by her and me both, which he learned after spending time with us down the road). Later I learned he wanted 8 daughter’s and to live in Wyoming on a ranch. Beautiful idea, but for that reason I’m of the mind that that was one of the reasons we did not work out beyond almost a year of dating. So, a man will inquire, get clarification on, seek your position because every genuinely wants to know, yes! Absolutely!! 🥰 a man will offer to help you, support you in some kind of way, which to me is such a tender way of caring for a woman. In my life, I’ve had man friends (even as far back as high school…and military men can be like such a brother to you too it’s very comforting ☺️) and work colleagues stand up for me when I’ve needed it in a variety of circumstances, and even when I haven’t needed it too just because they want to show you care, and love you like a good friend would. It is such a beautiful thing to have the effort of a man, we are so lucky 🍀 ladies that there are plenty of men who genuinely love women, will provide for, protect if necessary, be your blind spot, and who have your back. I remember one time, I was out one night with a man I was seeing, and some of our close friends. I was drinking a little bit, and I remember bumping into someone on the way to the dance floor and the next thing I know I turn around to see if he was behind me to dance 💃🏼 and apparently there was a woman/man who was coming towards me not with good intentions (can’t remember if it was a man or woman) and in that moment I turned around he stepped in between us because I didn’t see what was happening!! He shut it down quick I saw and I was so grateful 🙏🏻 If I ever bump into someone by accident anyone who knows me knows it is never on purpose and my intentions are good, and to have a good time with everyone. So yes, a man will offer you support, financial help or advice, emotional support, sometimes just a hug or to be held, play a game together, go for a drive together, be your stand in date to a function, or just say I’ve got you too and you know it’s true. A guy I worked with years ago, we went to a get together once. A guy there we both knew was there and at one point this guy was approaching me and because my friend knew me he stepped in and motioned for him to not approach, which he did back off. If that happens ladies, this man is really looking out for you and cares for you deeply. Sometimes a man doesn’t need a reason to be there for you he just is, and I was thankful in that moment because sometimes you just never know people or their intentions. I feel like men are not given enough credit sometimes for the ways they show up for women. It could be a stranger on the street that will stand up for you too!! Random acts of kindness and I’m so grateful 🥲 sometimes it will save your life 🙏🏻 A man willing to wait for marriage is so beautiful, and it means so many things, gosh, my heart 💜 (hand on my heart) And a woman wanting to give herself only to him in return? Saving that moment between both of them just for them, at the right time, I’m speechless ♥️ Checking on your family and friends does happen too, yes. A man with good intentions who values you will want to bring you around his family, and inquired about your family too. He will even check in to say “does your pops have any projects he needs help with?” I remember, a friend from tech school wanted me to come out to a family/friend party at his house in Louisiana (bragging rights for a minute there 🥰) and so he flew me out there just so I could be there, he missed me from tech school (we were at our duty stations already…all of these men now are married, but I haven’t forgotten their kindness after all these years…thank you all so much I’m truly grateful for your friendship 🙏🏻) And yes, a man will reference future events with you. He will project out adventures or places to go together and you will go. He wants to spend time with you, be alone with you so he can hold your hand or kiss you, play with your hair, walk with you, talk with you, etc. ♥️ “young love is from the earth, and late love is from hEaVeN” ♥️ - anonymous Thank you Lord for your gifts 🎁 the blessings you give from your heart of love for us all. We should be so grateful, everyday 🙏🏻
