@rae05212 жыл бұрын
I made my version using what I had for fruit (canned peaches, fruit salad, pineapple, fresh apples) with yogurt & sour cream along with the sweetened condensed milk, egg yolk & vanilla. The short of it --> it was awful. The "custard" turned out grainy and didn't set (partly because the fruit was too wet) and we didn't like the taste. Today, I'll be throwing the whole mess into the salad spinner, washing and spin drying the fruit and re-purposing it as a fruit crisp. Perhaps if I had followed the recipe exactly (if I had been able to figure it out) it would have turned out well... but I didn't... and it didn't.

Hello, Super Recipe Channel, I enjoyed your video on making fruit salad. Thank you. However, can you clarify what you actually used to make this recipe? In your video you said to mix items with creme cheese. Your list of items needed you listed sour creme. not creme cheese. AND how long do you cook the mixture? I cooked mine using condensed milk and sour cream last night. and guessed at the consistency via your video. I used sour creme instead of hard creme cheese because in the video it looked like you were using sour creme. This morning I cut into it but mine is really watery? I would like to try again, after I hear from you, it looked easy, but mine did not come out like what you showed. But I want it to work. IF you did use creme cheese what did you use with it to make it smooth and liquid flowing as seen in your video. Thank you, cheryl anne
@myartistry25172 жыл бұрын
Don't put hot liquid on fruits. The liquid should be put on the fruits when the liquid mixture is at room temperature. That's why your dish is more watery. I wonder how this video got so many views and likes. She made a common mistake and nobody looked at it.

I make something very similar using canned fruit. I strain the fruit juice into a mixing bowl with pancake mix to make the batter. Butter down sides & bottom of pan, spread out a thin layer of batter, cover with a thick layer of fruit, add layer of batter & top off with fruit sprinkled across. Bake @ 350° for 1/2 hour, and knife check it about every 5 minutes afterwards until knife comes out clean. Use a fork & poke holes across the entire surface, spread 1 1/2 cups of softened butter across the top, bake 5 minutes, spread 2 cups syrup across top & bake for 10 minute, remove from over & let set to cool for 15-20 minutes. Best served warm, but still delicious cold. It’s simple, fairly quick, and makes a wonderful dish for brunch, or cake alternative with ice cream.

I use the powder of 1 pack of sugar free vanilla or French vanilla instant pudding mix, stir powder in with fruit and the juices. It is is so good! I love Fugi apples bc they have the perfect balance between sweet and sour. I use can fruit in 100% juice, except the tropical can fruit and the can mangos those usually come in syrup so I get light syrup. I set the light syrup aside and only add it in the mixture of fruit, fruit juice, and pudding powder if it’s too thick. This is a really good dessert without all the guilt. The clue is in the other ingredients used. Condensed milk, vanilla, egg yolk. That is the basic recipe for custard. So it has to be heavy cream not cream cheese. Sour cream might work. You gotta try it to know.

UK I'm an Aussie who grew up on apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums, and grapes. All warm and juice-filled from the sun. While here in the UK for over ten years ( I gave up counting after waiting ten years to go home!) I've yet to find stoned fruit ripened on their trees or vines. Little things like this continue my homesickness but at 65 I'm losing hope of truly being able to return. Sorry I turned this selfishly about me.... I've noticed this huge flaw developing and know I'm going to turn my feelings of grieving around. This recipe sounds like a fruit cheesecake minus crumbs! Yummo! Colchester, Essex, UK 2022

Strawberry, Bananas, Pineapples, Blueberries, Raspberries, Apple's, Kiwi, Grapes (Red & Green)... And Mandarin Oranges With A Few Toasted Chopped Pecans & Sliced Toasted Almonds... For Added Taste & Texture!!!💖😍🤗😉.... Mmmm Mmmm... I Can Literally Taste It Already!!!💖😍🤗... Mainly Because I've Made It At Least A Dozen Times Already!!!💖😍🤗🤣😉... For Just A Little Less Rich Variation... You Can Replace Anywhere From 1/2 To 1/3 Of The Simmered Filling... With Some 2% Low-Fat Organic Stonyfield Strawberry Yogurt.... Or Your Favorite Pudding!!!💖😍🤗😉..... As Well As... Substitute The Chocolate Topping... With Some Frozen Sliced Strawberries & Glaze/Sauce... And Some Crumbled Graham Cracker Crust... Mixed With A Little Butter, Brown Sugar & Toasted Till Crunchy!!💖😍🤗😙😉... And Enjoy!!!💖😍🤗😙😉... Happy New Year Everyone!!💖😍🤗

I 100% agree, that isn't cream cheese. It looks like heavy whipping cream to me also and since they call the same thing cream cheese when they are making the ganache, I am going with it being heavy cream. @janisdeluca30282 жыл бұрын
I've made something similar tring to imitate something my mother used to make (I just never paid attention to how she made it) I used cream cheese,whipped cream and fruit cocktail. I do put it in a shallow container in the freezer until I'm ready to slice it and place it on a plate with raspberry sauce. Mine turned out pretty good and the raspberry sauce is not only pretty, its delicous!
