Yes and sad nowadays with callout culture. Micheal has to be apologectic and say i don't condone this behaviour. Everyone is looking to call you out on any innuendo. President Trump is the King when it comes to dealing with these hosers. I'm not sure exactly how he does it but it never effects him. I guess he takes it as people will always complain and so what. They are the hosers not me... anyway Trump revolutionized the way people are acountable. He is exempt when anyone else would be crusified in the media. And anyone who has the nerve to say your weak for feeling that way, would probably be the first person to crack in that situation and would do anything to get out of it, probably sell their own mother to escape that. Wow. I gotta say I really needed to hear this. My story is by no means like yours but it really spoke to me. Being a victim of child abuse, adult abuse when I was crippled for a time, and a victim of depression. When I was crippled and unable to defend myself in a domestically violent relationship I felt hopeless. Because of my medical conditions and my financial abilities I was unable to leave and was three states away from my family because I moved to help my now ex with her mother after her father passed. At the time there were no red flags and when things started becoming violent I chalked it up to grief. Since then I have returned home but left behind everything in doing so and lived out of a suitcase for the first several months in my small apartment. It was by far one of the darkest times in my life and just felt hopeless. Now I am doing well, I have more good days than bad with my depression. I am rebuilding my life. I am no longer crippled and I have a good job. I am by no means where I want to be in life but I am a firm believer that you have to go through the bad things in life to appreciate the good. I know this by no means compares to what you went through but in hearing your story it really spoke to me and made me realize how lucky I am to be where I am today and that would have never happened I didn’t find some hope and realize that in order to keep going I had to give up everything and because of that I am thankful for everything in my life

I watched this guy do hard drugs, get involved with a very bad gang, rob an undercover police officer, get stabbed multiple time, and anything else you can think of he probably did it. When he got out of prison we were all concerned that he would go back to the gang again, because he had been in and out of jail and we would always think he was doing better but then we would find ourselves watching him get arrested again. This last time he got out of prison he had hit an all time low... lower than low. One day he connected with Christ. He really has seemed to have changed now. His baptism is actually on KZbin. I went back to my home city a few weeks ago and talked to him and I could literally feel that he was really a changed man. I could go on forever about this guy but I think you all get the point. I can't help but get drawn into Michael's stories. It's really odd - he seems so likeable and down to earth yet I'm sure he's also done some terrible things, too. He is a fascinating man.

I’d like to meet Michael some day. Here’s a guy that was in ‘the Life’ and saw that eventually his own life would end either in prison or killed by the same people he was in that life with. Plus I’m a mob enthusiast and would just be honored to shake his hand.

Michael, no offense to your former life, but I believe after watching so many of your interviews, you were always too smart for the mafia. I think maybe it was just a natural progression that you be where you are now. Love what you do, and hope you can keep doing it for as long as possible.

I’m glad that Michael realized how hollow the mob’s culture of being a “man’s man” or a “man other’s looked up to” is. He went from being a man who focused on himself to being a man for others. As someone who benefitted from a Jesuit education, the value of selfless service to others is the one constant that has stayed with me years later. It keeps you humble and honest.

As an agnostic, this is by far the most interesting testimony of a Christian I've heard
@leoandersson64614 жыл бұрын
@Judas Iscariot, Of course there is. I admit that I don't have all the knowledge in the world. A Christian says he doesn't just believe in God, he is positive that God does exist, the same with the atheist vice versa. The evidence to me points out that there is no god I admit. But then there's some things and questions in life that I just don't understand, and don't know, and I think religion is interesting. I can't prove a god but I can't disprove God either if I was in a debate, I keep it somewhat open. Neil DeGrease describes it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/eau2fnZrp7yppdU.
@leoandersson64614 жыл бұрын
@Judas Iscariot Well I don't like to blindly believe things. I admit "I don't know." And just leave it at that.
@billybobthekidiswack4 жыл бұрын
@Judas Iscariot An Agnostic is someone who states that it's impossible to know if there's an existence of a higher spiritual reality or God, not just someone who doesn't know if God exist. The semantics are a little different.
@billybobthekidiswack4 жыл бұрын
@Judas Iscariot Gnosis means knowledge of spiritual mysteries, Gnostic (derived from gnosis)means Someone who claims to have knowledge of spiritual mysteries (from direct experience). Agnostism is the counter claim stating that humans are incapable of knowing or experiencing spiritual mysteries, which is not the same as stating "i don't know if God exist".
@billybobthekidiswack4 жыл бұрын
Gnostic = Knowing, Agnostic = knowing not, instead of "not knowing", which is different when speaking on the semantics.

I love this man’s testimony simply because it’s relatable. I was once in what I call “the abyss.” A place in the mind of hopelessness and despair where life becomes an afterthought. It was at that time that I pulled myself out of it and felt like I was spiritually attacked. I had to do all of the leg work to pull myself mentally and physically out of that hole I was in , BUT spiritually there was nothing I could do myself. I had to call on God. I didn’t even think it would actually work but it did. I’m a licensed counselor now and I try help people pull themselves out of that place as well. It’s a humbling experience and I’m thankful to God and myself for allowing all of this to take place and to be doing better than ever in a time where many are not. I had to rise to the occasion.

Great testimony from a guy who has been around and broke bread with the worst of the worst, to see how his life has changed for the much better really does give me hope for my own struggles in life where every day I feel like I might as well be in that hole he was in feeling the hopelessness he felt. This is what the media left out: Michael’s faith of Christ. It seems like GOD gets our attention the most when we hit rock bottom (addiction or life in general). Personally, I think the worst prison to be in is our own minds. We are own wardens, judges and guards. That can be a serious nightmare.

@Judas Iscariot You haven't been around then. In China sermons in churches have to be edited by the state and Christians are persecuted for their faith. I'm Indonesian and while I have many great Muslim friends we basically aren't able to hold important public positions because (from what I understand from the public debate) Muslims have to be led by Muslims. And from what I understand it's more appropriate to say the persecution complex is on atheists'/agnostics' side in the West. No other belief, including atheism, would've tolerated as well if they're constantly berated like Christians do in the West. Not only that, the places where atheists/agnostics are able to freely talk the most is the West, the place you claim you're persecuted in. Take any socialist country and see how they treat their theists.
@shinHis34 жыл бұрын
@Judas Iscariot The 2nd part of my previous comment applies to America. You complain so much even when you have it good. No one's gonna meet the requirements if you set it to utopian standards. That includes you and how you treat other people. But sure, criticize others, just not yourself.
