That poor baby crying for his dad, not knowing the danger he just put him through, is just utterly devastating. The worst part is that even though he might not remember the event, his body will. Traumatic events like this in early childhood can affect a person for the rest of their life, regardless if they remember it. I hope that sweet angel gets the love and support he's going to need.

@ericaschaidt8588

What’s sad is the dead roach in the child’s ear isn’t necessarily the worse part. The child had deformities in *both* legs. Not to mention the children had nutritional deficiencies. They also lacked social skills. While that may not be as egregious as a dead roach in the ear or limb deformities it points to a prolonged neglect. By that I mean the parents likely didn’t interact with, talk to, read to or otherwise engage with their kids. Viewing the state of that room it’s likely the kids were locked in there or “banished” there for extended periods of time. I’m glad to hear all three are facing life in prison.

It's truly one of these worst feelings in the world that can drive you to sheer insanity in seconds. I had a roach crawl into my ear one time while camping in the back yard (I was in high school), and lost my mind. I woke my mom up crying and screaming because I couldn't express any other way how badly it was affecting me. She spent over an hour taking the time to pour peroxide in my ear to drown the thing, because each time she tried to grab it, it burrowed deeper, which hurt. Until it finally died and she was able to pull it out. I sleep with ear plugs to this day due to paranoia from that incident and it was a complete accident.

I’m guessing part of what helped him have restraint was the fact that he didn’t want to risk going to jail/prison and therefore less his child without their father. I commend him for keeping a cool head and ensuring he was able to be there for his kid. As you said the instinctual reaction to someone hurting your kids is primal. I imagine most parents would have a strong desire to inflict great bodily harm on someone who did that to their kid.

@@auaiao9 That is where you're wrong. Yes, they won't have the physical memories, sure. But they will retain the emotional memories, which will haunt them in their nightmares. I have a younger brother who was almost one year old at the time that his father(my ex-stepfather) kidnap my younger sister and attempted to do the same to him, causing a struggle that resulted in the father leaving only because our neighbor at the time pointed a gun at said father since he was about to kill me and my other siblings for stopping him. That entire incident happened in fall of 2010 and it something none of the family wants to talk about since it really screwed with us. (Edit: That sister was returned back to my family, after a few stress-filled months. She doesn't like her dad at all.) However, that brother, who is 14 years old at this point, doesn't remember the whole incident, but at times, he will have nightmares about that neighbor pointing a gun at his dad, and, since we never told him the whole incident due to a combination of not wanting to reopen that wound, not wanting to traumatize him, and, I think, even if we told him, he wouldn't believe that his dad did anything that warrant what the neighbor did at the time, he will be horrified by that image. So, don't say that a baby will forget the horrors of what happen in front of them, because they will remember it in one way or another and it will haunt them.

This might sound weird, but I like the fact that you weren't censoring the "triggering" words. The harshness of an act is not lightened when you use a different word to describe it. It's also kind of wild that nobody is talking about the first story. I want to assume that that's because it's the first story so people kind of forgot about it by the time the video was over, but that one was wild.

I feel sorry for the 5 year old who survived that crash. She'll remember, then have nightmares, then not remember but still react, to the fact that her sister is dead and she'll consider herself to be the one to blame for it. She probably won't ever argue or fight with anyone ever again for any reason, and that won't help her either.

When I was in AA/NA (I'm an alcoholic but I wanted to see what NA was like - ten times more depressing than AA, everyone has friends who've overdosed and died) I saw a lot of meth addicts who would have babies just to get welfare. I'm in Canada and you get a shit ton of money if you're a single mother. They don't care about their children. They are merely props to an end.
