Blue Yeti X! A little pricey but you won't have to worry about quality dropping ever again. They can last for years on end. I still have mine since I bought it several years ago. Would recommend!
@MeercatRL
@MeercatRL Ай бұрын
I would advise a cheaper XLR set up. Much easier to upgrade or replace in the future if you need and it'll basically always sound better for the price. Not to mention I've had horrible experience with Blue Yeti mics in the past, if the mics don't break the drivers do. For basically minimal investment for GOOD sounding audio I would suggest the following (Prices are from Amazon in USD): Behringer XM8500 (would recommend adding a windscreen) - $15~ - This thing is a WORK HORSE that makes NO sense to be this cheap. It is mental. Just listen to tests of this thing. behringer um2 or umc22 - $35 - $40 - single channel interface, you could pay double for a two channel with higher quality but it isn't especially necessary imo. whatever xlr cable - $7~ some kind of stand or arm - $20~

Now I haven't had issues with my mic as of yet, but I now change my opinion to do buy what Meercat suggested. He's got a lot more numbers than mine does lol.

@@abitofpix I don't think it's correct to disregard your suggestion either! it is pricier but for some people it COULD just work without issue and also be perfect for what they need. XLR set ups require this whole new piece of equipment to sit somewhere that someone may not have room for or maybe they just don't want to deal adjusting any settings. If someone really wants just a plug and play solution that doesn't take much space I would point to something like you suggested.

Very glad that you are uploading tutorials again. "Yapping" in the tutorials is completely fine for me. I am pretty sure that most of us are just happy that you are uploading again. About animating scarves on the top layer: I enjoyed this concept so much that I actually inherited it from you. It adds some special charm to the animation for me. I don't know, I can't explain how it does it, I just love it. xD About not using object drawing because you can't apply outline to the entire stick figure as a whole: actually you can! You just have to select all the parts of the stick figure and break it apart (default shortcut is Ctrl+B). It will combine all limbs into a single fill object that you can outline as a single shape. It sometimes produces artifacts, but it is easy to fix them by undoing the breaking action and moving the limb that causes the artifact a little bit to any side (even the tiniest shift fixes it!). The super-fast workflow to use an object drawing tool with an intent to outline the stick figure that is drawn with that tool afterwards is to animate it without outline and once you are done, duplicate the layer with the stick figure and break apart all frames in the duplicated layer at once using the multi-frame select tool (it's similar to onion skin, but allows you to select and modify elements on multiple frames at the same time). Doing it on the duplicated layer will save you the original frames in case if one or several frames have artifacts, so you can re-adjust the limbs and try to break it apart again. These artifacts are very rare, but annoying to deal with if you don't have the original, non-broken apart drawing to re-adjust. I would not suggest animating the scarf before the outline is applied since the outlines may have a different width than you originally expect. This workflow is going to be much easier and much less time-consuming than using a lasso tool and manually fixing the gaps and sharp corners that are produced when moving limbs using this tool. We use object drawing tool when working for Alan Becker. It is so useful when you have to animate the tiny movements and it is definitely going to be very useful when animating battle stances. Also, the tutorial suggestion: How to animate a very strong force in animation while still keeping the clarity, especially if you are trying to include it in a fast-paced animations.
@Nhazul
@Nhazul Ай бұрын
Yo! Always appreciate your detailed input, Shuriken! Didn't think to break apart objects, makes sense for sure. Thanks for the breakdown on the object drawing workflow, I'll have to mess around with it more sometime. I do find the lasso tool quick in this example, mostly just because I'm only doing it to a single frame. Would be more cumbersome if it was repeated constantly. I don't shape shift like this much in my animations, just mostly small movements, which I'm sure are much easier to achieve with nudging objects instead of carefully drawing each frame over with a brush. But hey, I've always like redrawing each frame with brush as opposed to moving objects around, it honestly just feels better for me and I think some of the imperfections with doing it this way, the stretched limbs, the poses that break the structure, the looseness of it, all these things give it charm for me, probably in a similar way the scarf on one layer might for you. :D That said, I am interested in playing around with that workflow you laid out some time for fun. Thanks for sharing the process and insights, super helpful and cool to know how Alan's team is working. Love the suggestion as well, I'll put it on the list. Got a few more basic ones on the way in the meantime. Keep it classy, Shuri.🤘

Look great, thoughts: Mic is good, but turn up the base, modify with an audio compressor, and a DeEsser. Record through band lab for all of this. I suggest instead of obs, cut the footage to show what you want, then voice over that as you watch it. In my opinion, the sit down and hang out works best with live streams. Especially if we get to chat with you. One last thing: This will take extra work. Maybe edit in examples or references of what you're animating, whether it's one of your finished animations or an anime scene, etc.
