Also, look into a good therapist, because day to day dealing with chronic health issues, especially pain can affect your mental wellness. Even if you go one time a month or every other month - it is sooooo helpful just to talk out feelings, fears, ways to adapt to change in yourself and family dynamics. Of course, faith and spirituality and family support is number one. But having a good therapist is golden!

PLEASE READ! BELOW IS INFO ON MY BLOOD WORK RESULTS ETC. :) Good morning everyone! I know I haven't been able to respond to all of the comments below but please know that they have not gone unnoticed I have received them and have been reading them ALL. :D I will try my best to "heart/love" all of them too lol! I just wanted to come and say THANK YOU soo much for all of the tips and for sharing your stories in the comments! It has been a blessing to me for real!!!! I truly appreciate all of your help and your prayers... along with the well wishes!! I love y'all and I'm amped to started researching and trying your suggestions. :D THANK YOU!!!! God bless!!!! God is a healer! #yeessssss So I was asked what strains did I test positive for so I looked at my labs... It looks like I had a complex test done... Lyme, Western blot, Serum.... it seems to have looked/tested for 14 or 15 different strains? I had a lot of negative but these... IgM P39 Ab. Present IgM P23 Ab. Present Lyme IgM WB Interp. POSITIVE Lyme tests are so tricky smh. So because I have been having a ton of symptoms that go along with Lyme, the doctor prescribed antibiotics to see if that would get rid of the bacteria that showed up as positive in the tests. Like I mentioned in the video, I have to also see other doctors to rule out any other issues. Lyme can mimic so many autoimmune diseases like you all have mentioned so it just makes things very very complicated. According to my blood work, I also currently have some issues with these other things smh... The doctor said not to worry about these too much... (I don't know if I should believe him though... after all he did UNDER PRESCRIBE my antibiotics the first time. But we won't get into all that lol...) I also some some issues with these other things smh... ANA DIRECT. POSITIVE ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE LOW BUN CREATINE RATIO LOW I currently am not anemic although my ferritin is only 23. My blood pressure is doing well. :)

I only in the last month figured out I have autoimmune issues. They are thinking mixed connective tissue disease. The pain - knees and ankles feel like fragile glass. Thinking it’s in your head and you’re just being lazy. Saying no to activities because it’s just too much. My right hip gave out and I couldn’t walk, sleep, sit, every position was painful. Feeling good and doing “normal” things then being rendered absolutely useless for days. I’ve learned to let things go - clean kitchen and bathrooms. The rest has to wait. I wish you relief. I wish you many more good days than bad. God bless you XOXO

I have Lyme disease as well if you ever want to talk ! I’ve been dealing with it now for 5 plus years and have tried a bunch of treatments antibiotics, herbals, and natural based treatment but currently for the last few years I’ve been doing a more natural based treatment and praying about my next steps. Praying for your healing, it is a hard disease to deal with. I’ve experienced all the feelings you have frustration, confusion etc. I never got a bulls eye or recall getting bitten either & like you have experienced a ton of symptoms & still experience quite a few. Here to support and pray for you, support is so crucial with this disease. You will get through this! God bless ❤️ PS: like many others with this disease have suggested I’d look into seeing a llmd (lyme literate specialist) as many have not had much success with infectious disease not to discourage you from going to one but also look into llmd I have one myself and watch under our skin that documentary helped me answer a lot of unknown questions !

I believe you! I became ill with Lyme and the co-infection Bartonella (which is very nasty) in 2004 and went to 14 doctors and specialists (internists, Rheumatologists, eye doctor, general practitioners, allergist, dermatologists) trying to find answers and get help, but nothing showed in any tests. I always came away in tears because each time I was so hopeful I would get help just to come away disappointed again. I had every symptom you listed and more. Many symptoms were so bad I felt doctors/people thought I was crazy or just making them up. I did my own research on my symptoms and self diagnosed myself correctly with Lyme and even Bartonella! I just needed a doctor to agree or at least treat me based on my symptoms not on my negative Lyme test results. My first symptom was extreme exhaustion (literally unable to keep eyes open) and a few days later started breaking out with a rash that within days spread over most of my body that itched terribly. I did not see a tick and did not have a bulls-eye mark (at least I didn’t see one anywhere). I have learned that only about half of those infected will show a bulls-eye rash. Over the two years I was undiagnosed, I deteriorated to the point that I thought I was dying from some mystery illness. I was in unbearable, debilitating pain and thought I was going blind. At the time I had two young children who I thought would not remember me if I died. My kids (and the pain) were my motivation to not give up trying to find answers. In 2006, I finally saw a Lyme literate doctor in Towson, Maryland who helped me by doing the right testing and sending my blood work to the right lab. He diagnosed me with Lyme and Bartonella and immediately prescribed antibiotics. I literally started crying sitting in his office because I couldn’t believe I was finally going to get help. The treatment definitely helped, but it took a while to start feeling any better, and since I had the infections for years, I was in the chronic stage. I suffer everyday with symptoms that vary, the worst being fatigue (exhaustion that no amount of rest or sleep can ease), pain, anxiety, and cognitive impairment. I was infected with Lyme again in 2014, almost exactly 10 years after the first infection. That time I went straight to my Lyme literate doctor. The key in treatment and recovery is to get to a LYME LITERATE DOCTOR immediately to avoid the infection becoming a chronic illness. One key to recovery is to avoid SUGAR. My doctor stressed this often. Sugar causes inflammation which causes pain (ie. in joints). Needless to say, avoiding sugar is easier said than done. I hope you get well and start to feel like your normal self again. Just don’t give up. Thank you for sharing your story. This illness can make you feel very isolated because, unless you talk to someone who has also suffered with it, people don’t understand your daily suffering and difficulties. There is nothing worse than people not believing you.

We’re glad that Lyme disease is getting more national attention (we’ve been talking about it for a while now!), and that actual progress is being made in terms of diagnosing and treating the condition. It remains to be seen how effective this new process is in practice, but we’re cautiously optimistic.

I got bitten by a tick in spring 2016 but we didn't know; there was just a spot of blood in my jeans pant (at around my ankle). 2/3 months later there was a giant red mark on my right leg that covered half the lower leg. No bull's eye rash or anything typical, so my doctor wanted to do a blood test. It came back positive for Lyme disease and so they "attacked" that thing with a 30 day course of antibiotics. This was over 2 years ago, and so far, it's going great, on this front. I do have a disability, have had it for 23 years (late stage CRPS, complex regional pain syndrome) and have Menière's disease as well. I thank my dad so much for reacting as fast as he did saying it "might" be a tick, and to have it checked out by the doctor. If we had let it slide I would be in a world of trouble. That rash stayed on my leg for a year! A year, and itched like mad; so it's not always "typical". But thank God for those antibiotics!

I had a similar experience and I am also a woman of color. I am also a nurse practitioner ( ironically and have lost everything due to Lyme. However a good support system will help- so good for you having a spouse and children etc. Unfortunately, antibiotics won't take it away, it is something that will linger. I am on year 3 and still struggle- I gave up office practice and work from home doing review cases- occasionally I will do contract home visits. Lyme is poorly understood- and doctors that are not Lyme specialist will not recognize it past 4 weeks. Do not give up. You will start to become depression and struggle with anxiety and panic attacks- this is normal. Get into a psychiatrist/ counseling during this process. Eat clean- gluten free. After your antibiotics trial(s)- Try Samsura herbs- amazon- Tick recovery and Biofilm Buster- helps amazingly. Be patient and learn to love your new self. I have come to realize my life will never be back to 100 percent- and I am now a new person. It is very frustrating but try not to be hard on yourself when you are feeling super terrible. Educate your support system as much as you can. Praying for you and take care.

Without causing too much of an uproar, I would strongly suggest that you do research on Lyme disease AND parasites. It is very unlikely that you have it. My girlfriend was diagnosed with Lyme disease and many other vitamin deficiencies, PCOS(which cause her to have 1 menstrual cycle per year)and a gluten allergy. We made so many changes to her diet, she was taking birth control(which was only making matters worse) she had a colonoscopy, at 23! Fast forward two years later and we did research on her symptoms and mine, and everything leads back to parasites. So we did research on cleanses and have dropped access weight, she no longer has PCOS and gets her cycle on time every month, she has no deficiencies and does NOT have Lyme disease. I no longer suffer from night terrors, random joint pain, brain fog, severe fatigue, etc. do your research before allowing someone to commit you to a lifetime of expensive treatments and drugs.

I've been missing you and I hope that you are feeling better...I was going through something back in 2010 and I felt like I was "chasing my tail!" Every test I took came back negative, including lyme disease. From Cardiologist, naturopathic and Gyno. You name it, I was there, lol! I thought I had a "white" tongue, but the dr. said it wasn't fungal....who knows?? I was living in a basement and once the de-humidifier broke, that's when I fell ill. I've LONG moved out, and my health was challenging for a good 5 years maybe...The body will heal itself in time, but I was a mess! I changed my diet and I must've taken every herb I could think of to combat my "fungal" issue. I learned that my body was overloaded with too many herbs and STRONG probiotics, like Whoa! You have to be careful with TOO many herbs as well....Thank God Almighty, I feel much better now...What I did learn was that I had to get my amalgam (sp) fillings out, because it was wreaking havoc on my body...at a cellular level. Once I did that, I started to feel better. I'm about 75-85% better and I'll take it! You will be in my prayers sis!

It takes so long to get diagnosed. I started having health issues in 2009 and I only got diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2015. By accident. So don’t feel too bad. I just turned 35. You’re not alone. Much love to you. ❤️❤️❤️ And girl, you have to keep going on with your normal life. There’s no other option. We have to keep going. Please don’t feel bad. It’s not your job to diagnose yourself. Doctors should do their jobs. Look at the whole spectrum of symptoms not just one. This isn’t your fault. I understand the frustration. Having your life entirely changed is no joke. I’m still trying to cope. It knocks you flat. As for walking, some days I can’t walk at all. Some days I have to use a cane. It’s frustrating and humiliating, but we aren’t weak, internally. We may not be able to do what we used to do, but we will be alright. Even when things are bad. Just do what you can when you can. And try to stay positive. It’s hard but it helps.

Tinahgirl83 Hi! I know this is 5 months later and this is strange for a random person on the Internet to comment on someone’s health but I felt inclined because if It was me I would want to know. I have had Lyme disease for 17 years although was only properly diagnosed 3 years ago. I was actually first diagnosed with MS because Lyme disease mimics MS symptoms. They just came out with a study actually, that shows 1 in 5 are misdiagnosed MS (they think the number is even higher) “Wrongly diagnosed patients spent an average of four years being treated for MS which means they could have suffered side effects from unnecessary medications and a delay in treatment for their actual condition.” boston.cbslocal.com/2019/04/22/multiple-sclerosis-diagnoses-false-study-healthwatch-dr-mallika-marshall/?fbclid=IwAR2EOf1r67lsnjnRZmvlD47rur72TnBsGmnTnuKSPd8JFMEhYiip41QUGmk#.XL78GxTEDxo.facebook LDC Note: Dr. Steven E. Phillips, a Yale-trained, world-renowned Lyme specialist who has treated over 20,000 patients in the last two decades has made the following observations on a Lyme/MS connection: “Another common presentation is MS. When we say that Lyme can mimic MS, it can do so literally 100%. So, we have to ask what percentage of MS is caused by Lyme. If you look at the epidemiology of Lyme, it overlaps with MS identically. If you look at the diagnostics-whether it’s white spots on the brain or spinal cord or optic neuritis, oligoclonal bands in the spinal fluid, or evoked potentials-every single clinical descriptor has been reported with Lyme. There is no clinical, laboratory, or radiologic feature which accurately differentiates the two. Keep in mind that the majority of symptoms of Lyme are caused by the immune system going after the organism. If you induce immune suppression, you can reduce symptoms in most patients, but at the huge cost of allowing the bacteria go deeper and become more entrenched. So, it’s no surprise that steroids given before antibiotics increase the risk of antibiotic treatment failure. Back in the early MS literature, they found spirochetes in the brains of patients who were autopsied. They called it by a Latin name that meant myelin destroyer. They knew it was a spirochete that wasn’t syphilis but they didn’t know what it was, and they did a number of animal studies taking the spinal cord fluid and tissue of those with MS and putting it into baby animals, and the animals got progressive neurologic illness. But when steroids were discovered, they realized they could suppress symptoms quickly, and this whole concept of autoimmune disease sprang up. So, before steroids, MS was known as an infectious disease. This is also where a 180 degree turn was made in the field of rheumatology. In the older rheumatology literature, there was an ever-present investigation into the causes of inflammatory conditions. Now it seems that everyone focuses on newer and more lucrative immunosuppressive drugs without looking for the cause of the inflammation.” www.huffingtonpost.com/dana-parish/where-cdc-guidelines-fail-leading-lyme-doctor-succeeds-part-1_b_9318660.html See also Fox News Interview: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKqTh5yFjZyrhM0

Kris!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!! I knew it! Let me be the first to say how sorry I am. I really wanted to believe that this wasn't your problem but as you now know Lyme can be very tricky and mimics so many other problems. I wish I could talk to you as I swear there is way too much to type. I will tell you if its been years then it is in the chronic stages and with my history the Lyme does not just go away. I have been getting treatment for over 7 years (and still in treatment) and two of those years I had to have a picc line inserted. OMG!!!! I can't even type all the stuff that is running through my head right now! Kris, I will leave my private info (on Facebook since it has private messaging) for you to contact me IF you feel comfortable contacting me. Unfortunately my Lyme has caused other other major problems in my life. I now also have SFN (small fiber neuropathy) and after hearing about the pain of the feet and legs I am wondering if that could be a problem as well for you. Again I can go on and on with this but again I will leave my info if you need to talk as I have felt so lonely for years as I have no one in my circle that understands what I am going through. Thankfully I found a support group in my area but it was always hard to get to those meetings so I didn't always go. So again I am more than happy to offer that support and prayer if you need. Hang in there. Oh and good job on pronouncing my name correct...LOL. Blessings my dear sister! And I hope to share my story with you someday.

OMG, I've been looking and trying to find Kayla Reid's videos. I remember her and think of her all the time. The symptoms you listed are definitely symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis too. People confuse Arthritis (Osteo) and Rheumatoid. Osteo is the one older people get from wear and tear. Rheumatoid is the one that attacks your joints, kids can get it, so age isn't a factor. Good luck to you and keep us posted!!

Sorry to hear that you’re going through this. I don’t have any tips as I’ve never dealt with Lyme Disease or known anyone who has. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

I will have to get checked for Lyme disease, now that you have shared your story. I have about 18 of the symptoms that you listed. People think that it’s in my head when I tell them that I’m in pain from head to toe most days. Thanks for sharing!

I’m sorry your health has been up and down. My sister went through this for 20 years she’s 30 yrs old and was in and out of hospital with a mysterious illness. She went to several hospitals and no diagnosis to this date. Lyme disease was considered but they didn’t know the full symptoms and was giving her all sorts of meds. She’s a lot better no hospital admissions and is now working after 7 years of not working. We are grateful to God as there was no other explanation for recovery. She has now changed her diet and goes to the hospital for monitoring....she’s only on iron tablets now. You will get better, it’s good you know the diagnosis with some progress

Praying you will find a Doctor that will properly treat you. My Dad was just diagnosed with late stage Lyme disease. He had all of the early stage symptoms you described and he missed it. The disease has now spread to His spinal lining. We are praying he will recover and that the antibiotics will work. Please get another opinion on the Lyme disease. I will continue to pray for your healing.

Don't blame yourself sis. It's not your fault that you can't pinpoint when it happened. Move forward in your journey to recovery. I personally have not dealt with any of this. I have heard that Tumeric is helpful with inflammation.

Hi Kriss, I’m a doc and I’ve seen patients for this and I continue to read up on it. You don’t necessarily need to have the bull’s eye rash. In fact, most people don’t have it. You also don’t need to remember being bitten either. The hyperpigmentation on your hip doesn’t like it is. If you live in an endemic area (where tics are prominent like PA, NJ, northeast) you’re more likely to be exposed to it. I’m glad you’re on Doxy. It’s also good to know that there is something called Post Lyme Disease where the symptoms last, but you don’t have the organism present in your body anymore because you’ve been treated. It can last for a few months. I’m glad that you will be seeing Rheumatology. He or she can give more insight to your joint and muscle pains. Another thing I thought of was fibromyalgia, but this is not usually diagnosed until all other possible causes have been ruled out. I hope you feel better soon and thanks for sharing! :)

PLEASE READ KRISS Kriss, this video made me happy. Not for the reason you might first think. So, my mother is 6 years older than you. She has had a surgery on her hand due to repetitive strain injury because of working for us. I have been helping her lose weight and improve her diet for a few years now. She has lately been complaining about brain fog, fatigue, hearts spasms. She sometimes hide it and you have to force her speak. I feel bad every time I look at her knowing that she is or may be experiencing what she is experiencing. I dont feel comfortable knowing that I might have to leave her for university (finished high school). I immediately thought about your boys and what they might be feeling when I was watching this video. I said I was glad because watching this video made it clear to me that I forgot and felt like I was the "only one" or a better way of saying it was that I felt lonely having these experiences. I was also glad because despite what you are going through you still smile and joke. This is something that I try to uphold but you are showcasing this. The following is what I try to uphold "Smile no matter, because frowning and tensing does not make the situation better and may in fact only make things worse" My mom is not the only mom that may be in pain and I am not the only son sad for his mother.

Suffered from the exact symptoms for almost 20 years!! The doctors just chalked it up as Fibromyalgia. I had pain/burning from my eyelids to the sole of my feet. I decided to go on an elimination food diet, and within 1 week ALL the pain was gone!!!! Then I had to add back the foods one by one to find out what was causing the pain...eggs, dairy, gluten...when I ate gluten, I became extremely sick! I literally had to get a cane to assist with walking because the inflammation was causing nerve pain in my legs. I’ve been gluten free/low fodmap for five years now. I hope you are able to find relief soon!!

Kris, it is so good to see you on here. I am glad that you have a diagnosis for your illness. It will definitely be a plus for you once you see a rheumatologist. Make a list of all concerns and questions that you have before your first visit. Your rheumatologist should do their own bloodwork as well as X-ray, MRI or CT Scan. If not then you need to request it. I am saying this because some will suggest medicine first but if they don’t know what’s really wrong with a patient then the medicine may not be the correct medicine. I personally don’t have the time or money to be a ‘test dummy’ for doctors. I shall continue to keep you in my prayers. Keep the faith! Remember, all you need is the faith the size of a mustard seed. So just hold on to the faith that you have and don’t let go! PRAISE God through your PAIN!!!!! May God continue to bless you and keep you and your family.

So sorry to hear about this. I might suggest seeing a pain management doctor to control the pain while you're getting to the bottom of this. Try not to stay on the internet researching to much because it just get other things into your head. Glad to hear you are better, good idea to just try to relax physically and emotionally. Keep faith in God and try to speak the word!! Love you honey!!

Hello dear, I am so sorry about your diagnosis. As a registered nurse certified in holistic nutrition, you should check out these immune boosting supplement like : vitamin B-1 vitamin C fish oil alpha lipoic acid magnesium chlorella cat’s claw garlic olive leaf turmeric glutathione And like some wrote before, get an appointment with a naturopath in conjunction with conventional medicine. Good luck!!
