For context it makes perfect sense that he thinks this is the reason why Milner tackled him. In Argentina some people get very salty when they get nutmeged and go for your legs right after and say something along the lines of “that’s what you get, wise guy”. This is what Lio grew up with lmfao The comeback is always calling the salty player a “burro”, “muerto” or “rústico” and maybe going for another nutmeg if you’re willing to take another hit in exchange for further humiliation

In Spanish when you’ve been called a donkey you’re not really being compared to an actual donkey. The slang can translate to ruthless, careless or hard headed.

Donkey means brute, stupid about learning something. BUT in the pitch, in football, it simply means that you are a bad player, as if you shoot and the ball goes like 10 meters away from the goal, people could shout you Buurroooo (donkey).

@@Darth-Shadow No man, you should understand that messi doesn't speak english, not even uses Spain's way of speaking, he still speaks with argentinian slang, so many words have different meaning. Like coger in Spain means fetch, and in argentina means fuck. So if messi tells you that he is coing to coger your sister, you know he is not meaning that he will go just pick her up....

In argentinian spanish, "burro" (which translates to donkey) means that you are not good at whatever you are doing. For example, if you fail all your school exams, then someone who wants to bother you may call you a "burro". In the context of any sport it means that you are bad at it. In a football match, fans usually call "burro" to some opposite player when he does something wrong (miss a penalty, throw the ball away).
