The Jamie Oleksiak trade was very weird. Because Pittsburgh got back the same draft pick, they traded for him.😂 and he was only in Pittsburgh for a brief moment before heading right back to Dallas. It was kind of weird how that worked.

Why would Atlanta regret that trade? They basically gave nothing for Tkatchuk. #24-33-85 and a 3rd-4th liner in metropolit. Only worthwhile piece that came out from that trade was Backlund at #24 but he didn't become an impact player until 2014, 7 years after the trade, 3 years after the Thrashers left Atlanta.

Yeah I don't think any of those assets ever did much for the Blues.

Funny thing about that Pens pick it would end up with the Blue Jackets while it would be traded a number of times... from wiki; The Minnesota Wild's fourth-round pick went to the Columbus Blue Jackets as the result of a trade on June 22, 2019 that sent a third-round pick in 2019 (81st overall) to Florida in exchange for Pittsburgh's fourth-round pick in 2019 (114th overall) and this pick.[63] Florida previously acquired this pick as the result of a trade on February 1, 2019 that sent Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann to Pittsburgh in exchange for Derick Brassard, Riley Sheahan, a second and fourth-round pick both in 2019 and this pick (being conditional at the time of the trade).[39] The condition - Dallas will receive the higher of Minnesota or Pittsburgh's fourth-round picks in 2019[74] - was converted on April 2, 2019 when Minnesota was eliminated from the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs.[75] Pittsburgh previously acquired this pick as the result of a trade on January 28, 2019 that sent Jamie Oleksiak to Dallas in exchange for this pick.[75] Dallas previously acquired this pick as the result of a trade on December 19, 2017 that sent Jamie Oleksiak to Pittsburgh in exchange for this pick.[74] Pittsburgh previously acquired this pick as the result of a trade on December 19, 2017 that sent Josh Archibald, Sean Maguire and a sixth-round pick in 2019 to Arizona in exchange for Michael Leighton and this pick.[76] Arizona previously acquired this pick as the result of a trade on February 26, 2017 that sent Martin Hanzal, Ryan White and a fourth-round pick in 2017 to Minnesota in exchange for Grayson Downing, a first-round pick in 2017, a second-round pick in 2018 and this pick (being conditional at the time of the trade).[77] The condition - Arizona will receive a fourth-round pick in 2019 if Minnesota does not advance past the First Round of the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs - was converted on April 22, 2017.

Let's keep it real here, Shawn McEachern was never a star, he was a semi-star at best in his prime. That season when he made 72pts was his best season and it was the season Yashin returned after the year he missed. McEachern had good ice time in Ottawa and that year he had Hossa and Alfredsson on the other wing.
