This apply ti every social media. Take instagram for example, in there you only see people enjoying their life doing super cool stuff. But the reality is that 90% of their lives is mundane, boring and full of struggles. Linkedin is just following the same logic and is actually far less toxic than Instagram as most people use it only to apply for jobs and get noticed by potential employers without sharing corporate BS.

Overtime abuse is sickening. I’ve been in that situation. The company gaslights you into thinking that you’re being a slacker or selfish for wanting to go home at 8pm, or not work on the weekends. And when I brought up the whole “I’m working hours and not getting paid for them” thing they would become angry, as if I were being insolent or greedy. I remember one fatass manager bellowing “Look, this is a CAREER!” As if that made it okay to steal hundreds of hours per year from me.

Turn to Christ, and repent and turn from all sin and unprofitable things, so you can be forgiven and seen righteous in his eyes, to the only one that matters. Everything on this earth will be destroyed, lost, rot and rust but with him you will be renewed, where death has no sting, fear is beaten, peace that surpasses all understanding, He gave his life for us, let us give ours in return, and live for him, so we can be after his own heart, to be accepted by the King the greatest honor.

LinkedIn has always seemed extremely fake to me. People strive to portray themselves as well-adjusted corporate workers or even leaders, and in many cases, it's a far cry from their true personalities. This is the reason I stay completely off that platform and I've never had trouble finding a job in my field over the last 6 years.

@@BillClinton228 I think part of the issue is that in order to advance in most fields and gain connections, you basically HAVE to be this kinda person. Everyone who isnt willing to put up with this shit is seen as "uncooperative" by corporations and is rarely considered for promotions or advancements unless you have some unique skill or personal connections higher up in the company. So there are a lot of people who act like this because theyre brainwashed into thinking this is what it takes to succeed in life and if theyre going to be successful this has to be their life. So they use any means to justify this torture, since otherwise theyd have to admit that its all bullshit and their life is pretty much just nothing more than a tool for corporations that dont actually care about them in any way whatsoever. So they just buy into all the corporate propaganda hoping it actually makes sense and isnt just someone manipulating and taking advantage of them. Kinda like Stockholm syndrome almost.

Previous company was one of the most horrid and cheapskate places you could work for. Another employee decided to take a little 'going away bonus' by stealing 3 laptops. They could never prove who it was... rarely have i cheered for a thief like that.

I was on staff at a church, and people who left (by choice or not), always posted glowing messages to the rest of the staff on their last day, talking about how much they’d miss everyone, what they had gained, what a blessing it had been, etc. Well when I QUIT, I did not post a farewell message. I refused to be a part of gaslighting the rest of the staff.

@@EtnoZam No, and I have no idea how you came to that conclusion. Just because it’s a church does not mean the leadership is nontoxic. People were pressured to pretend it was not, which is rather un-Christian.

You should do the internal email executive skit. The one where the VP who didn't advocate for you despite laying a mountain of key milestone requirements on your already overextended role simply types out, "Today was YOURNAME's last day with us. Please join us in wishing them well as they move on to new opportunities," and sends that to the entire company address book at exactly 25 minutes to end of day.

exactly my point. its just a job. don't get invested too much into a company. and if by year 1 or may be prior to year 2 you are not promoted, chances are good you will never be promoted. and when you leave you will be forgotten.
