I usually go to pee or get some tea during these unskippable interactions. Also, I was expecting the old man to turn into a demon or reveal some secret shortcut to the main quest. Like no one listens to him usually, so it's like an easter egg.

You know this dialogue is optional right? If you free him right away withouth talking to him or when he First Ask you can Skip It ALL, And If you do It for every prisoner you gain some info that unlock the way to a cool armor
