Confession is completely overlooked. I was a Worship Leader but had hidden sin. I finally broke in front of strangers but they were believers in a home bible study. I confessed. They prayed, I knew if I didnt I wasnt going to be able to function. I was destroying everything in my life and felt sick in my stomach. Regardless of my abuse I was filled with demon spirits from open doors. Deliverance was my final move, The shame is gone! I repented and now I can obey HIm. I love my Jesus!! These people in leadership may need deliverance. Seriously. I pray for them.

I’ve been a Christian since 1975. Graduated from CFNI in 81. In various charismatic churches all my adult life. The best lesson I learned at CFNI was in the first week at orientation. Warned that we will see men of God fall. Don’t let it destroy your faith. Chew up the meat and spit out the bones. Stay in The Word. So, I walk, try to walk, every day focused on God. This is so hard. I think there are real victims of abuse here. Not just people’s moral failure, I’m very concerned about the wreckage caused and systems and ministries that we have blindly allowed to continue for decades. I agree that we need to guard our hearts and not throw stones. We also need to ask why is this continuing to happen and how are we allowing it. We are starting to get to a point where leaders need to be trauma informed and have church abuse policies. I don’t know how else anyone will feel safe being apart of churches. This grieves my heart so much. Thank you Rita for being willing and open to talk about this. My prayers are with you for the church, and the people who now struggle with a distorted reality of God because of sin. People really need to know that God is not like this!

What is outrageous is how many people had the sense that something was off, but they were ostracized and shut down as soon as they tried to speak out. I hear and agree with you! As a veteran of the VCF, I found they had a big emphasis on the MERCY of God without balancing it with God’s hatred of sin and the reason Jesus had to die on the cross as a blood atonement for the sins of man. We can’t disregard Hebrews 10:26. We can’t willfully continue in sin without consequences. I am sorry to hear that you can only worship at home. Not every church struggles that way. The question to ask is: Are the people who have been lying and using/abusing young women throwing themselves on the floor in repentance or are they doubling down and running away from any responsibility and hoping they can manipulate others so they stop asking about their behaviour? A multitude of people have wanted to be transparent about this and bring in a third party to investigate but the perpetrator has shut it down. It starts with the person in power who used vulnerable women for their own needs owning their part and the victims being believed. Sunlight is a great disinfectant.

Church does this in the name of Jesus.... policing how the victims and their advocates should feel and speak so their reputation isn't ruined. IHOP has never been on my radar. I may have had Bickles name come before me a time or two in the in the thirty or so years that I've known the Lord. But since this story has come to light, I've watched and listened and sadly it's the same events being played out over and over again. An extreme narcissist and predator gains the trust of the gullible, the parents of the abused don't keep watch over their precious daughters and they become a casualty. The general lack of biblical understanding and the lack of wisdom in particular is breathtaking. At the present you still have members in "leadership" in the charismatic movement still protecting Mike Bickle. The word of God directs us to mark and avoid people like Bickle and to remove him from among our midst. They're beating the drums to "restore" Bickle to ministry...Charismatic "leadership" in effect is just as wicked as Bickle himself.

You need to understand this is not one man this is many men this is the model. You are not being cynical when you begin to discern you are waking up to the reality of the world that our Lord wants us to see. For you to continue to talk in this way that makes those discerning seem cynical is so problematic. It’s not up to us to forgive we are not the forgivers! Jesus Christ is. in the end times even the elect will be deceived. On purpose blind. Blind because of their desires blind because of their lack of loyalty to God. Not knowing his true character not knowing who he truly was. Our churches right now need to be so much stronger and so much more discerning and in the word!!!Oh no personalities just in the word. This is not a way to lead a flock. This is a way to continue to make people fly and skim the surface and not really see the evil that surrounds them. The evil that murdered our Lord and Savior that evil is gunning for all of us at this time in history and we better wake up and we better see it we better put on the armor of God and know how to fight it.

Many musician intercessors can go to serve other houses…

As a worship leader at a vineyard in Ohio who was told at 16 that I sounded like “Rita Springer” and you were the first alto female worship leader I’d ever heard… And listening to your worship and allowing God to tell me it’s okay to sound different… And 20 years later hearing your heart…Rita. Thank you for being you and for existing in the world and being real. I needed to hear you today. I needed to be reminded that to have a different heart voice is okay. Thank you.

Fortunately for me I'm one of those out in the water and have not been that close to the "religious church" to have even heard of this downfall. Judgement begins in the house of God. Also, beware lest you think you stand and may fall. The measure of judgement you judge others you will be judged. The remnant love one another and are accustom to being rejected in the "church" .God is beginning the reformation of the church to welcome all to the His real bride. 👑🕊❣️

So much wisdom and insight spoken here. Our first responsibility is to have grace and pray for those who have fallen, knowing that we too fall daily. I hear hope in this message. Thank you - I needed to hear these words snd I could not be more removed from this whole story, but it doesn’t matter because what you shared applies to sooo many circumstances that we as believers face when it comes to hidden sin, denial, lack of accountability, missing red flags, confession and healing and the Lord’s grace and correction. ❤❤❤

Rita, thank you for this. I have been discouraged by so many responding in anger instead of grief. Maybe it's my 38 years in the Vineyard movement, a year of which was at Metro Vineyard, but I just was so, so sad as all of this was coming out. My heart breaks for the victims but also for the fallen leaders and sadness at the continued attempts to manipulate and silence the stories of the victims. I agree...it is SO EASY to say "I can't believe this is happening! ". As the saying goes "there but for the grace of God, go I". We are all so, so much closer to falling in this way than we realize. We need to be humble. I have been there and never, EVER thought I would be. I am now healing and it's painful, slow and agonizing. But Jesus will have the victory in my life.

Rita I have been a worship leader and Christian musician since the early 1970's. God has blessed me to be part of some amazing churches and worship teams. One thing that God taught me early on was to know the anointing and respect God's presence when he moves and uses you to move through. I cherish that and never want to get in God's way. If you have that anointing, God will keep you humble. He will not allow his glory to go to man. Unfortunately there are those who don't realize how dangerous it is to trample on God's glory. God will eventually deal with it and usually it's not pretty.

1:30 am 3/21/24. - I Accidentally ran across this podcast as I was looking for What's something else? But I'm so glad I stayed to listen. This is one of the most insightful podcast. I've heard in a long time. Yes, I too. Am a senior believer and I too have been through all the moves of God and I to him in ministry but more importantly, as someone who wants to be ready for the Lord's return. I constantly struggle between being a truth teller. And being compassionate between how much do we walk in the light? And how much do we shove under the bed? In other words, we have to be truthful but with intense compassion. I thought Rita nailed it. She was so honest in her emotion. And so real and I'm so grateful. She did this podcast cause she answered questions I've been asking the Lord for a week. As things are being exposed in the world and the church, I've been saying Lord. What about this and what about that and how do you want me to respond? And I got my answer listening to this podcast. So well done. What a beautiful soul this woman is. A true washed-in-the-power-of-His-blood, SHINING REMNANT saint. 🙏

Wow, my heart just breaks at the Revlation of all of this but not totally surprised. Over the years i just sensed some drift away from the heart of the Father for leaders ideas of what the heart of God was. I just dont think a bunch of prophets trying to steer the same ship at the same time was not healthy and even i think mike recognized some of that, perhaps by way of Wimbers input and maybe had something to do with vineyards seperation? I think its one of the dangers of growing in size and the structure taking over the vision and there is the appearance of freedom but a bondage to the machine

Johnny cash said he walked the line between the sacred and profane, I would not call that a misfit and yes swore, drank etc while being a believer but the amount of Christ he showed was mind blowing! The fear of God needs to be shown the moment a child is defiled and whatever it takes, a 3rd party independent investigation, being prostrated before god, 24/7 repentance, addressing the questions folks have. We can point out every sin of nonbelievers but won’t say a word in-house! Thank God for the Johnny Cash’s, he fearfully feared The Man that Comes Around!

Sweet but useless rehertoric. Your dreams and visitation from Jesus in it are your own. Rooted in your emotional state at the time. The charismatic movement has largely substituted mysticism for spiritual illumination and abandoned the sufficency of Scripture. Blind leaders leading the blind fall into ditches. I'm an old man possibly terminally sick. When I look back over my spiritual walk I can State quite clearly, Pentecostalism is aberrant, so also is most of the Charismatic movement. It's overall common fatal flaw is rooted in mysticism. Charles Hodge stated in his systematic theology the genuine believers are often falsely accused of being mystic's, and that because we believe God has direct access to our souls. The command is to be always accurately handling the word of Truth.
