I don’t have anything against marriage but to my fellow BW, don’t rush or settle into marriage quickly or fast. If you can’t find the right partner, then just stay single. It is better to be single than to be in an unhealthy relationship with the wrong person. And remember, single unmarried women who are child free are happier and live longer than married women who have children. But if you want to get married, make sure you choose the right partner that will make your life easier and better.

Don't rush or settle.. that's exactly it. 💯 If it's a situation you truly wouldn't be happy in or benefit from.. I wouldn't recommend doing it. At least when you're single, you can give yourself the love you want. ❤️

I’ve noticed that many of the women content creators who make videos about single women are married. I’ve always thought that was strange. You’re the only other person I’ve heard mention that. Shouldn’t these women have better things to do with their time than worry about what single women are doing?

I broke off my engagement 4 years ago and I’ve been criticized heavily for it, but the reality is he was not the best partner, leader, or provider. I am happy with my decision and those who truly want the best for me understand. Ladies please don’t ever make a decision JUST because you got an offer. Examine what they bring to the table before you say yes to a life of regret! It’s better to be single than to be someone’s long suffering wife.

I noticed when that video was posted, but since I didn't watch it, I had no idea she was talking about Chrissie. She's said some very problematic things, but that "BW can't grow long hair" video was really upsetting. She admitted that she settled when she married & is still trying to shame single women. It's obvious that she doesn't like her skin tone and features & is projecting her insecurities onto other BW. Many married women are unhappy and resent single childfree women. They try to shame us because we didn't fall into the same traps that they did.

It's really sad that people think that way. Our hair can definitely grow. For some, it's easier than others, but if we find the right techniques and products, and make sure our health and nutrition is on point, we shouldn't have much trouble growing our hair simply for being Black smh. I noticed my hair grow pretty fast when I was mindful of my protein intake and getting in my greens. Long hair isn't the end all, be all. There are plenty of stunning women with short hair by choice.

You are so correct. Im a rare brave Gen x that didn't stay married for the sake of keeping up appearances. All of my friends are married and a few that are not happy. Do know the unhappy ones will admit that they are not happy but say "well at least I have someone". 🤷🏽‍♀️ For me its not a flex because I don't feed into idea of what society say things are supposed to be. She also made a video a while ago talking about the white girls on the couch at the NFL draft. She implied that they were their because they willing to do all the work/ support (doing the athletes homework, buying them food) that black women weren’t willing to do to get the bag once the man made it in the league. I went hard in the paint on her in the chat saying that women already are ride or dies and when we do support them we just end up getting come up woman treatment rather than being in the coach with the man. Chrissie, gen x-er here (just made 48). I stay learning new things from you yunguns. I was raised by a strong independent never need a naygga 4 ish type momma who forgot to learn me the more feminine traits, how to attract etc plus i was an introverted socially awkward nerd in high-school. I didn't swan until i was abt thirty after losing sum weight but still had stuff to learn. I never wanted kids as an adult and am still not sure about marriage. I always had issues with the availability of bm/ the colorism in movies, especially with a bm lead always being with an exotical (like HITCH) pissed me off. It never occurred to me back then that i could date out. All these issues really didn't have a name back then, it's wonderful to hear you all talking abt then and providing alternatives. ALL OF ur content has helped me fill in a lot of blanks left open from the way i was raised. I super duper appreciate that. To be specific, all of your colorism, bwe-lite, level up and even some of your celebrity commentary. You helped me see that it's ok to be single and child free and not ashamed that my standards are high enough that i won't settle for BS. Younger me felt some kinda way being the only cohort unmarried and no kids. Fast forward they all settled and are unhappy in their way to divorce. I just heard you say that your gonna do other stuff, which is fine. In my opinion, you should just do it on this channel. When you post stuff that isn't my speed (the astrology stuff you posted abt a month ago for example), i was notified that u posted, i still went and like the video and let it play for abt 5 mins so it would help your algorithm. Anyway, it's difficult typing on this phone. I don't feel like grabbing my computer so in gonna end this. You are my make believe Good friend in my head (as the great Wendy Williams would say- LOL)

What people need to realize is if an engagement was broken it’s probably for the best. You were spared a divorce in the future. Also, married women use being married as something they have over single women. It makes them feel better about their position in society even if they have to accept abuse to maintain the image.

I'm one of the few in the family that's tries to be socially conscious so she came to me about the video of the woman saying how she felt about black womens hair not growing and not being attractive. I immediately told her that nothing is better than rocking a look that naturally grows from her scalp when she does it with CONFIDENCE because that way nothing anyone says to object would even be relevant. I then directed her to your channel. I've been very appreciative of ur platforms stance of COMPETING EFFECTIVELY and moving strategically so yeah I def hope u continue to thrive and continue building up DSBW. Whenever she mentions anyone talking down at her looks, I let her know that many ppl pay money to look like her and she's gonna stay healthier longer bc of what she's made of. So it's actually a blessing...other ppl know it too thus the hate. Whether what I'm saying is 100% correct or not, it doesn't matter. I want my sister moving through the world understanding she has no reason to feel bad about her looks. Honestly, the girl has the body of a model and impecable character. I started roster dating in my 30s for about 6 months, and this allowed me to pick the man that I wanted to be in a relationship with. We shouldn't be shaming women for choosing to roster date when men have been doing that for decades. If roster dating isn't for you, that's fine. However, you shouldn't shame other women for choosing to do so to find the most suitable partner.

The sad part for me is I’m in my 20’s and gorgeous and don’t feel like I have options. Y’all this was a blonde hair blue eyed white man so obviously I’m the exact opposite of him and what he’s used to. So who was he to discredit him and try to block my compliment. I definitely agree with your sentiments in this video, I’m unmarried by choice. I’ve been proposed to 3 times and declined each offer. My current relationship is healthy and happy, he understands that I don’t want to be married, I don’t want to live with a man. So many people keep telling me that I should give him what he wants, and at least move in with him. Why are women always expected to bend to men? If he should start pushing marriage or cohabitation, I’d end the relationship, because clearly we are not compatible anymore.

What I cannot stand is the fear-mongering. It’s selfish to get married and have children because you want caretakers. Another fear-mongering tactic is assuming that women are going to be depressed or have mental issues just because they’ve chosen to be alone. NEWSFLASH: There are women who are married with children who suffer from depression because they have nothing going on in their lives besides catering to a husband’s needs. People just need to leave single, happy, child-free women alone!!
