I use a combo of cheap old school products and newer, slightly more expensive ones. Indian Hemp, Blue Magic, Queen Helen Cholesterol treatment, Garnier Fructis, IC Maximum Gro grease, Camille Rose Naturals, African Pride Coconut Prepoo, The Doux, and good ole Vo5 conditioner. I also stopped oiling my scalp because it causes irritation for me. My hair is mid back. 15 yrs ago, this line woulda been crazy successful. Black women know how to take care of their hair now. Beyonce shoulda done this back when her B Day came out. We had a lot less info about hair care back then. Ain't nobody paying 50 bucks for 12 fl oz of her shampoo in a recession when we have cheaper options that are more accessible and just as good, if not better.. 🤷🏽♀️

To be honest, I don’t use hair care products. I do not put anything in my hair that you cannot eat (besides shampoo and conditioner which I believe is called Natures Own, but I put some peppermint and tea tree oil in it). I use rice water for protein treatments after taking out my braids. I use onion juice for my scalp if it is too oily, yet itches. I use ACV as a rinse in between washes due to having high porosity hair. And I use the LOC method using water, sunflower or coconut oil, then coating my strands with Shea or mango butter. And yes, my 4c hair goes pass my shoulders and shoulder blades. 😊

@bethp60458 ай бұрын
@meshellw3370 Please stop spreading lies like that. If you have hair that grows, you have hair that can see length. The only thing genetics will determine is the rate of growth and the only reason why a lot of black women don’t see progress is mostly because their hair breaks off faster than it grows. Either way I see some dark chocolate black women with long and healthy beautiful hair why? Cause they treat their hair correctly, it’s all about hydration, length retention and not being rough with it. A lot of black women are never consistent with their routine, then bleaching it, brush it roughly like it was some animal hairs, braiding it with super tight braids and barely hydrating it then putting the blame on « genetics ». All I see is a critique on Beyonce while hyping up Fenty when she has a colorist baby daddy selling her lip gloss and calls her primary demographic too dark to wear red lipstick. Beyonce didn't want to use her hair to sell the product initially. The line's protein treatment and hair mask were recently awarded over other higher-end salon brands where no one asks to see those owner's hair texture. She has a Cecred wash day campaign where multiple women of all races and textures have been sharing their experiences. That was her goal with the advertisement. To show what Cecred did for her hair over the last 6 years of development. This is after decades of being told she was hiding under wigs and shouldn't be able to sell haircare products.

I don't have an issue with you, but bringing up Beyonce is often content-farming and preys on a lot of unambiguous black women's insecurities. As of now, most black women online, especially Gen Z, have divested from a lot of natural hair products & choosing to silk press/be str8 naturals/heat trained/gone back to a relaxer. Corporate black owned businesses are taking a huge hit bc black women are shopping across the ethnic haircare line. Buying Olaplex, K-18, Kbeauty, Dyson blowdryers etc. So not only are we dating out & being hypergamous, but we are shopping out & being hair hypergamous too! We are moving away from the KZbin University hair advice & embracing licensed cosmetologists again. I got my silk press & it told me everything I needed to know! Anywho, I've gone back to using silicone & sulfates bc the natural hair guru products didn't live up to the hype & actually aren't very great. My stylist said I had hygral fatigue which is where your hair becomes mush from the use of heavy products. I wasn't a product junkie by any means, but the amount of oils & butters in the products over the years took a toll on my strands. My hair was long but it was not healthy & we had to chop off a good 6 inches. Currently, I'm using VO5 hot oil treatment as a prepoo, Bioterra Long & Healthy Shampoo, I use A'PIEU hair vinegar rinse (Kbeauty line) L'Oreal Absolute Repair Conditioner & Oribe blowdry cream to blowout my hair then put it in flexirods, (Like 8 chunky ones) then I use Oribe hair spray to set it. If I'm silkpressing (rarely) then Paul Mitchel Super Skinny Serum. No more wash & goes, twistouts, braidouts, or puff puffs for me. Just breakage city! I do identify as heat trained & will lightly blowdry my hair or sit under a hooded dryer for a rollerset. My hair in this state looks like a bundle of kinky blowout hair, I don't think it takes away from my blackness or naturalness. I didn't have a problem with retaining length but I have a lot less breakage & my stylist doesn't have to trim as much. I also love the blunt cut look better. I think the round shape is cute, but I like that my hair has been cut to where it's longer on the top & shorter on the bottom. It's very face framing & a lot more hangtime! I should be back to brastrap length in like a year (I'm full APL now). I'm really excited about the new shape I'm gonna have. I did invest in a brand called Virtue Labs for my conditioner & leave in conditioner, it's silicone free, right when Beyonce dropped her hairline. It's marketed as skincare for your hair. It's on the expensive side but I wanted to treat myself. The crazy thing is, that once you become educated about your hair for real for real, you can't justify things like Cecred which is just expensive hair butter & lotion. We need black Olaplex & black K-18, not expensive kitchen beautician products (she stole that rice water from the KZbin girlies!). We have to hold these brands accountable for the products they promote. So yea, I don't expect Cecred to do well. It's gonna end up like Pattern Beauty in Walmart. Lastly, I don't recommend anyone to use those products if you are planning to put heat to your hair. Beyonce knows she uses salon grade products to be that blonde & put that much heat on her hair. You're gonna get heat damage for real for real. Maybe not the 1st time but your hair will get weaker over time & lose it's curl pattern. So she doesn't "really" use her products. Just that 1 time on camera. Get a salon grade heat protectant from Sallys or Walmart that GUARANTEES 450 degrees of protection. Tread carefully!

I don’t see any 4a/b/c representation so it’s a no from me. I also don’t want to help fund her pet camel.

Rihanna has a level of cool-approachability. Like, Rihanna sends the message that’s she’s badder than all you bitches, lol but she’s still approachable. We all know a girl like that, effortless and cool. She’s approachable enough that we can aspire to be her. Perhaps we are already her and we can relate. Plus, Fenty solved a problem back when it launched. It set a precedent for shade inclusivity, not just for deep shades but for super light complexions. Beyoncé doesn’t speak. We never see her being spontaneous and candid. Every image we see of today’s Beyoncé is so aspirational, she’s almost otherworldly-love her but I can’t relate. Cecred’s not solving any of my hair care problems. The marketing isn’t new or innovative plus it’s TOO aspirational to the point it’s unrelatable. It’s like Michael Jackson coming out with a suntan lotion. I think I’m good! 😅

She should have focused on repairing bonds because she is known for bleaching her hair. She should have gone the olaplex route.

I’m using the Mielle, their pre-poo is amazing. Also using the Olaplex line.

There’s definitely a divide when it comes to black women growing long hair. We are not speaking with one voice on that topic.

I use Aussie, Auntie Jackie, Garnier Frucits, As I am, Tresemme, Mane Choice, Mielle Organics, and Shea Moisture. My hair started really growing when I learned how to retain length and what products works for my hair.

I love this video Chrissie you're always blunt and straight to the point when I began to listen to you in 2017 I kind of took your videos as an attack up until 2018 I stopped listening to your videos with emotions but with proper reasoning and alot of your advices have worked in my favour in terms of life in general
