Hi John - finally you hold my favourite amp in your hands! I own one of the first amp1 (also known as Silver Edition) since January 2016 in combiniation with the amazing BluBox. As Metallex already stated is your Iridium version the "Metal-thing" and my Silver Edition is a real Blues-voicing thing! I never will give this piece away anymore!!! BTW - Thomas Blug has a great KZbin Channel called "Academy Of Tone" - highly recommended to everyone who plays guitar and is interesting in sound! Thanks a lot for a year with very very interesting videos! Merry Christmas to you! Greetings from germany Your patreon UWE

Looked like you enjoyed playing your Les Paul with that tone

I love that PRS … it has the vibe of my uncle/cousin’s ‘61 Les Paul/SG. I played my first-show with it. Oddly enough, that same cousin stole a PRS-One from me a few years-ago … it was a gift from my late-father. 😔 Cool intro!

I have the mercury version. It’s unbelievably good. There’s videos where it’s setup to tone match some very expensive boutique amps. It’s on my pedal board.

Wow, I was hooked from thefirst couple of bars. I've seen a couple of reviews of the BluGuitar but none have grabbed me as this one did and a lot of the reason for that is down to the reviewer, naturally! 😉

Nice demo/review of this little BluGuitar Amp1 Iridium! Les Paul through the Classic OD with the Boost sounds like my ideal LP tone too. As much as they say so, it's not really a high gain amp is it, which suits me. I wonder how the Mercury compares. So many great amp sims so little money...

Hi john super video ..as always.... just a thought... we all have those nightmare shop assistent stories mine was in a shop in denmark street snotty buggers sitting on the counter , dont toutch if your not buying attitude and on the other side of the scale freedmans music in leytonstone road who let me play in there every saturday (badly)where i bought my first amp 40 od years ago .you must have many stories maybe for a friday night live podcast just a thought ...

you should genuinely try a Hotone Nano Legacy amp. you could fit it in the palm of your hand. it isn't as versatile as the the BluGuitar but you will be astounded at the tone and volume out of such a tiny amp. plug it into a cabinet and you will be amazed at the volume this thing puts out. it has a speaker out and also line out for plugging into DAW etc. 3 band EQ, gain and master volume control, and you can add any fx in the send/return loop. i've used it at a gig - had to borrow cab, but that was prearranged. when i pulled the amp out of my coat pocket i got some strange looks until i plugged it in and cranked it up.

I have the Mercury edition (which I’m selling as I find the foot tapping at gigs to be a bit fiddly because my eyes are crap). It does sound great though. You’ve got the heavier, more modern one there. Thomas is a genius

Consider remote control of the Amp 1 by Midi or Bluguitar Remote Control. Don't sell it, solve the switching issue!

Wow, Mr Robson on fire, great solos mate and great sound too. Mine is for sale. Special Mr Robson price, or swap for a guitar.

I've been really disappointed with my Mercury and Iridium, as all my other 'real' amps are now gathering dust!😀

Thomas Blug is my benchmark for amplification. Prefer the Mercury edition but the Iridium ist brilliant, too!

I've thought on this. Amp wise. The 5w Marshall DSL5CR 1×10 could be your cup of tea Mate. Based on the channel, it could do it all. Thoughts?

Does it have a NuTube in the middle of the unit?
@sid35gb2 жыл бұрын
No nu-tube its a nano tube which is a last generation Russian made vacuum tube it has a very long lifespan meaning it will last longer then you.
@Vincentbrennan13012 жыл бұрын
Hi did you go through the Marshall DSL1 at all or straight to PC? Sorry for the daft question.
@JRobsonGuitar2 жыл бұрын
No, just the BluGuitar amp straight into the PC 👍

Thanks for the reply was kind of wondering if it could be hooked up to a combo.Have a great Christmas.🧑🎄

I have one, a phenomenal piece of kit. Something to note about the noise gate, when it's set to 'Metal' and you tap the Reverb on, the gate automatically switches to 'Soft' so you can get those solo notes sustaining. You've actually got the Iridium model which is voice specifically towards the metal player, there's the original and Mercury edition which have the gain channels voice slightly differently and the Modern channel isn't quite as...well, modern! Always think more people need to be talking about these amps as they're indestructible and sound incredible.

To think that when I first started watching John Robson, and subscribed, John only had 500 odd subscribers. It's good to see that so many others have recognised the good things about his channel. However, John your Patreon subscription is £3 per month pus VAT, and not $3, or £2.50 that you state. You need to change that in your videos.
@JRobsonGuitar2 жыл бұрын
$3/£2.50 is the price I set, mate. I'll look into it come the new year. Thanks for your kind words 👍
@madcockney2 жыл бұрын
@@JRobsonGuitar I had a thought about this. I wonder that as Patreon is a USA company their base is set in dollars. So why you probably set at £2.50 when the rate of exchange went from around £1=$1.25 or more to £1-=$1:09 that may have pushed the price up for the £. In their terms $3=£3, and then never went down. Anyway even at £2.50 it equates to £3 with VAT.

Compairing the Amp1 to Kemper and other modeling type of alternative is misleading as the Amp1 ist 100% analog!
@JRobsonGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Analogue vs digital isn't something I care about. I judge things like this one the results they produce.

But surely what John is comparing is the sound rather than the hardware. Having said that, I believe that the only way to hear what any of these demos is generating is to be in the same room. I treat what I hear as a guide and the commentary is as important to me as the guitar sound so a good demo relies upon the experience and expertise of the reviewer and John always delivers a straightforward verbal assessment.
