The year after the law went into effect, 5700 people took off at high speed from Washington law enforcement. The people who took off were still speeding as well as running stop signs and red lights. People were still getting killed. A week ago in San Diego, police tried to pull over a car that was already speeding. The driver of the car continued at high speed. The police supervisor called off the chase. The car continued at high speed. He hit another police car and one officer was killed. Death by cop shouldn't be the consequence though. There are other means to track suspects (note, they are SUSPECTS, not criminals at that stage) other than high risk reckless chases and PIT maneuvers. There is a reason why more and more police departments call off chases once they reach certain speeds.
@CarmieThompson2 ай бұрын
@@irishmanintexas Police Dept.'s can only work w/ the budget they've been given. How many times must a suspect be told to 'get on the ground' or 'show me your hands'? It all has to do w/ compliance versus the suspect's attitude. You're wrong about all suspects, if the 'suspect' has a history then they're a CRIMINAL! The Court calls them a Defendant. I agree a chase might need to end depending on the location; a downtown area instead of an Interstate. Regardless, it's the perpetrators that dictate the Police response. They're bad choices & decisions drew the attention of Police in the first place. They're continuance of those bad decisions is justification for whatever Police response is necessary to protect the public. It's unfortunate that some members of the public could be adversely affected by the results of Police intervention but the Police didn't initiate those actions. Maybe the City/Township/County/State could create a fund to help offset the results of the conclusion of a Police intervention. But know this: the suspects. perpetrators, criminals, defendants don't care about the public. That's why the Police can't be limited by progressive societal intentions & understandings.

Aside from the fact that you have almost no control at that level of speed, all Police have to do is go over the open net and CB and relay the bikes information and last direction of travel. Other Officers along that route will keep an eye and stop any bikes that match the description (its a fleeing bike. This creates your precious probable cause). Once they verify if the information matches the bolo or not (if it doesnt, they explain the situation and tell the driver to be careful and report anything they might need, and send him on his way), then they will take the guy down. So yes. Please keep spreading that lie. There are SO MANY other ways Police can still get him that i cant list here. What a great channel! You cut out the endless minutes of the boring parts of the pursuits. I’m so glad you came up on my feed. It makes me so sad though to see innocent people get hurt or worse in these. I don’t agree with police chases through busy streets. Pit maneuvers at 100 mph is crazy. It’s not worth the innocent lives they put in danger. Have the helicopters follow them or something (a lot of states do that now). Arkansas is crazy scary. I would never even drive through that state.

@JRo2502 ай бұрын
Comments as you watch the video: 1. Wrong two people died in that rollover. 2. Police chase was not the cause of the house fire, the driver was. If we didn't restrict officers so much they could easily stop these vehicles much earlier. As it stands, they have a whole slew of procedures to follow or else they get sued and/or fired. 3. I'm pretty sure Jesus is not receiving that criminal dead driver. 4. THC had nothing to do with her death. You don't get hyper and try to be fast when you're on it. Might as well blame her makeup or some other nonsense. It was her trying to escape the consequences of her actions that lead to her death. RIP.
