Didn’t see many comments about the last one. Won’t lie. Was hard too watch. If they waited him out, Took cover they talked him down. And honestly I really hate operators sometimes. She should’ve connected with him. He said he wanted to say goodbye to his daughter I would’ve started immediately pleading with him that she needs you. Edit: By waiting him out I just meant talking him down, it seemed as if the initial officer attempted by saying “hey man it’s not a big deal”. And it was obvious there was no good communication from the operator and the officers as they kept saying “what’s in his hand” she called back three times. I know she has no visual of what’s going on. But she could have made attempts and it seemed like he wanted the “suicide by cop” more than to shoot the officers he took forever to do anything and wondered around aimlessly shouting.
@shitloveaduck4 ай бұрын
@@au4i944- you’re pretty much right on. It’s hard as a peace officer to process your first extreme scenario. The 911 operator seemed frozen and not necessarily responding as taught. It may have been her first suicide, or suicide by cop. There’s a saying that basically say you can never truly know how you are going to respond until you are in thar situation, relating to trauma inducing scenarios. I was a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) for 30 years and also taught scenarios based training for control & defensive tactics through to full on shoot scenarios. People surprise you. They get into the scenarios as if they were real and freeze, or become super cops! 😊 The biggest guys can freeze and smallest officers can be highly effective. The initial officer either had little control & defensive tactics training or forgot it all when the opportunity to remove the subject from the vehicle presented itself. He was surprised by the simple no. I have been in many scenarios like that. I use pain compliance, specific strikes (yes we can full on punch a guy if they are fighting us like the big guy in the other scenario), effective & efficient compliance & restraint tactics. You still don’t always win. Take them, do it quick. If they aren’t coming out use their arm like a lever. Theres a point it will hurt so bad they have no choice or ya pop it out of its socket! Sufficient force to promote compliance or stop the threat. They should listen and if their shoulder pops,,, oh well, they will listen the next time. “IF” the officer secured that guy there, the guy would still be alive. He had a very small window of opportunity. I find there’s great hesitation to go hands on in many of these videos and a big miss on responding to non-verbal cues. It’s interesting. Make a decision and act on it! In the scenario of death by cop, I believe (tentatively) that the other officer who shot the subject was too amped up. The officer talking to the subject yelled one voice, which meant for the other officers to shut up. That one officer didn’t. He was likely dealing with auditory exclusion. That means they are so amped up & hyper focused on the subject they only hear themselves & the subject. They get tunnel vision and it doesn’t always go well in those scenarios. I hope I’m wrong, but there was good cover and lots of time & distance still. Unless the subject levelled a handgun on them, they were not in danger nor was the public. Hmmmm.

A buddy of mine was a state trooper. He died in the line of duty sadly but he had a great story. It was about domestic abuse. He heard a call go over about a guy who hit his gf and took off. He was involved for like the first 5 mins. He was one of three cars that got behind him when he first took off but then it slowed down and someone rolled out of the car and the car took off again. It was the GF he stopped and took her in to the hospital for a check up. She didn’t want the cops thinking she had anything to do with it. The weird thing about it was she had no idea that the cops where after him for abuse it was the girls mother who called after he yelled at her over something. So the guy took off for literally no reason and got arrested.

On Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 the Sauk County Sheriff's Office received a report of a disturbance taking place at an address on North Baltimore Street in the village of Spring Green. It was reported that an intoxicated male was outside the residence causing a disturbance and trying to break into the home. Prior to law enforcement arrival it was reported that the male, identified as Lawrence Drennan, age 35 of Spring Green, WI had left the scene driving a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. A responding deputy located the Outlander parked on an adjacent road unoccupied. The deputy then approached the residence on foot where he located Drennan back outside the residence. The deputy detained Drennan and conducted an investigation into the incident. As a result of the investigation, Drennan was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, 3rd offense, Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Criminal Damage to Property. Drennan was transported to the Sauk County Jail where he was transferred to the custody of jail staff without incident.
