i don’t like though that because queenie is black “she’s a foreigner”. like she isn’t a foreigner she was born in korea, was raised in korea and is of korean ethnicity so i think it would hurt to be catagorised as a foreigner. like ik being called a foreigner isn’t an insult or anything bad but in my perspective she isn’t one. she’s a native korean like everyone else she just has a different colour skin. also i’d like to add that if she was half korean and half japanese or half chinese or a similar east asian race, she wouldn’t be called a foreigner because she’d still look the same as everyone else but that shouldn’t make a difference.
@mochihamster27942 жыл бұрын
Yeah she is not a foreigner to call her that is factually incorrect and blatant discrimination. She is ethnically and nationally Korean, being biracial doesn’t take away from that.
@elielfelipecampos85272 жыл бұрын
There are not much black people in South Korea, especially born in there, that's why she thought Queenie was a foreigner, because she doesn't look like what most korean people look. And about other east asians, they are racially closer to Korea, so obviously a biracial east asian would pass as a Korean easier than a blasian.
@roarnell2 жыл бұрын
@@elielfelipecampos8527 she thought Queenie was a foreigner because she thinks Queenie is black, that's it, that's all. And there are more than enough black people born and raised here in South Korea that it is false to believe there aren't black, white, or biracial Koreans. A biracial person doesn't look like the Korean Asian aesthetic out here as they usually look "unique", "different", or a "threat". Biracial Koreans with a black or white and Asian parent will look biracial or southeast Asian when there is a black parent. Also mixing Asian with Asain does not make a person biracial.
@elielfelipecampos85272 жыл бұрын
@@roarnell considering that black people in Korea is a pretty recent thing, it's understandable why she though Quennie was a foreigner, because far most koreans never met blasians before, it's still uncommon and you might think they are because as westerns we pay more attention to blasians than koreans do. Remember, racial mixture is a new thing there.
