3:00 it's a black dwarf. you need to increase the temperature and mass to activate it's fusion. if you have too much mass,it will collapse into a black hole if there is little temperature,otherwise it will become a neutron star. if you have too much temperature ,it will supernova and leave almost nothing behind,it will be a white dwarf. if the mass and temperature is well balanced,then it will stay as a star,then it may likely turn into a white dwarf,until it turns slowly back into a black dwarf after millions of years. I recommend crashing Jupiter into Jupiter, then fling it at the black dwarf quickly before the temperature gets too low.thats how you make a star.

so i'm sure someone has said this, but the reason the earth is black here is because of its composition. compositionally, a star like our sun is made of extremely dense and hot hydrogen with a core of helium. the earth's composition is made from things that are the result of nova remnants, existing only in small concentrations in stars unless they're very late in their life cycle. by changing the earth's mass without changing its size, you made it into a nova remnant star core no longer capable of high-energy fusion. essentially, you made it into what's known as an "iron dwarf" or "black dwarf" star. this also explains why throwing multiple neptunes and jupiters at it until it exploded into fire was a more legitimate way of achieving fusion; gas giants have a much higher concentration of things like hydrogen and helium, clumped into a super-dense ball (particularly the bigger ones like jupiter and saturn). the biggest difference between a dwarf star that achieves fusion and a gas giant that doesn't is size. by throwing in gas giants until it caught fire, you were actually creating the ideal conditions to replicate what a late-stage actual star that's gone through multiple life cycles would look like: a core made of heavier material surrounded by a mantle and crust of far lighter material heated and compressed to the point of fusing. (also in terms of astronomical timescales, stars made of that sort of thing don't tend to last very long. they're very hot and burn very fast until there's nothing left but core. the end result after a few billion years, funnily enough, would've been a dead core that resembled this video's dark little occasionally flaring earth-thing pretty closely. neat, huh) PS: other commenters feel free to correct me or elaborate, i'm not a scientist, just a massive nerd who dabbles in writing scifi >.> this series is really neat though, i'm glad youtube suggested it
