What I like about the Knights of Ren, is that they are dark-siders, but very different from the Sith. Because unlike the Sith, they're not trying to use pain as their constant follower, examples of that are their more humorous language and that they take time to relax or go for a drink. However all their goals are still of very selfish nature and their fighting-style is quite agressive. According to George Lucas, the dark side embodies the selfishness in us. So you don't have to be completetely broken or a hyper-evil sociopath, but use these traits mostly as your common tactic.

Unlike Sith and Inquisitors, they also seem to actually get along with each other. They also don't seem to seek a greater understanding of the Force in order to gain more power.

Qi'ra screwed herself by allying with them. Her plan would've gone fine if they hadn't showed up at the final battle. At least, she did kinda win in the end since she was the one responsible for leaking the second Death Star to the Rebellion

This is the kind of fleshing out I'd like to see more of regarding the Sequels. I hadn't even considered why they were serving Palpatine, but this was a great answer, and when you said that Kylo was never their leader, it felt like, oh of course! Man, that's a good reversal of what that comic seemed to show. Too bad it has to be put together from many stories instead of actually done well once, but it's nice to at least hear it.

These guys desperately need a new show so we can actually see more of them in action. Or even a successor to their order. They had a decent role as side enemies, but they could benefit so much from more visual material. They have such a great set of armor and weaponry, so it would be a boost to see it all in action.

Not sure how accurate it is but I like to think of the Dark Side factions like a D& D Alignment: the Sith are Lawful Evil, the Knights of Ren are Chaotic Evil, while the Night Sisters are Neutral Evil.

I'd love to see more stories involving the Knights of Ren. They have such a cool factor about them similar Boba Fett in the original trilogy. You don't know a lot about them but their presence is felt on screen.

The Knights of Ren DESPERATELY need a spin off series or TV series, I can easily see these guys becoming fan favorites if they where fleshed out more, heck they might even warn people up more to the sequel trilogy if done correctly, those designs are way to perfect to pass up, they have so much potential.

Knight of Ren should have been the new threat to the galaxy. The Sith were extinguished and the Ren should have been the new baddies led by Snoke. A missed opportunity that destroyed the sequel trilogy.

Too bad the Knights of Ren were wasted. A small flashback in The Force Awakens, nothing in The Last Jedi, and only 2 instances in The Rise of Skywalker where they only look cool and get beaten easily by Ben Solo

It's so unfortunate that Abrams and Kasdan established the Knights of Ren to be a thing at the start of the sequel trilogy, expecting the next director to pick that up, only for Johnson to consciously ignore them in his middle chapter. The whole thing screamed "I'm-not-a-team-player" to me lol. Auteurs, man.

if johnson had used them in Last Jedi they either would’ve just been set dressing again like in Force Awakens or killed off in the Throne Room battle scene instead of the Praetorian Guards. He’s addressed this very thing years ago lol

While I did find it a shame the Knights weren't in ep8, I do respect the decision. RJ created the story he wanted to tell and realised the Knights had no place in it. So instead of wasting them by cramming them in a story they had no place in, he left them out. And while I did like seeing them in ep9, I do think their role in that movie is exactly what RJ wanted to avoid. They had no purpose in that movie, they were brought in because they were already teased back in ep7 so now they HAD to force them in. And ended up doing the characters little justice.

@@turtleguyfan Yes, I’ve seen Director and the Jedi, and I’ve listened to every interview on the press circuit. If he couldn’t find a creative way to include them, that’s a failure on his part as a writer. Like I said, Abrams and Kasdan set the KoR up expecting the next guy to pick them up and flesh out, to FIND a way to make them consequential to the story lol

I won't lie the Knights of Ren is just one of those ideas from the sequels that's just meh for me, but then again Kylo himself is a character I just don't like. I didn't have ridiculously high expectations for them so they were fine in TROS to me, they were just Dark side goons. That's all I figured they would be back in TFA even but outside of that, the attempts to expand on them in the Rise of Kylo comic (which was a whole beast of its own) just made them appear so flat and uninteresting and annoyingly over the top. This *slightly* helps but not by much. They're kinda one of those lost causes for me.

I legitimately want to know why the thumbnail for this video was made. First, why is the arrow there at all? Are you assuming your viewers are too dumb to know the connection you mentioned in the title? Second, why is the arrow pointing the way it is? If the Knights started serving Palpatine, why is the arrow pointing from Palpatine to the knights?

For your first point, I would say it's because people scrolling through their feeds are more likely to see the thumbnail before reading the title. Having the arrow there is a clear visual guide. It's not necessary, but it does the job. This channel has definitely had better thumbnails, but I wouldn't go so far as saying it's meant to insult the intelligence of the viewer or something like that. You could probably make some higher commentary about how social media and clickbait culture as a whole encourages things to be as simple as possible to reach a wide audience as quickly as possible. That then leads to a dumbing down of the general audience since they eventually rely on having everything clearly spelt out to them or something like that. As for the second point, I'm not totally sure why. My first thought is that it looks like it's trying to say Palpatine is the person in the middle of the group, and therefore the leader of the Knights of Ren. The second part is what it's trying to say, but the literal interpretation is where things fall apart. It could also symbolize how Palpatine took control of the Knights. I think the arrow could work in either direction, though, since the main goal was to communicate the connection between the two.
