typical football squats, guys bear hugging you on your way up and of course they only showed like one guy from the waist down. I've had high schoolers come to the gym and tell me that they hit 500 on squat at football but as soon as I get em under a bar they crumble under 315.
@withmeuntiltheend3 жыл бұрын
This. There's a reason you don't just see dudes squatting 500+ lbs on the regular at the gym unless they're on some gear. Looked like their spotters were curling half the weights and their main spot was doing half the squat, too. Half of these guys just broke their raw national records in a single meet on one video. If that doesn't make you scratch your head, then ... rip.

Arkansas has 7 billionaires (including 3 Waltons) who give the athletic department anything they want and request....for instance, in 2009, Bobby Petrino wanted to switch the field from natural grass to the newest forum of artificial turf...the job cost 8 million, two days after Petrino just mentioned this idea, Jeff Long (the UA athetic director) got a Fed Ex, with the proper procedures on how to and which bank to go to for the money to get the artificial turf...this was given by the man who owns Reynolds aluminum and two months later the job was completed....not even Texas can boast the money (from boosters) that Arkansas has...do some research before you spout off at the mouth....the facilities at Arkansas take a back seat to no other university in the country because of billionaire boosters

I don’t wanna be this guy that’s critiquing them especially when I squat like half their weight at 330, but why are so few of them going to proper depth, they’re near professionals they should be trained and well aware of the form. I understand you could move more weight cutting the depth a slight bit, but they are not reaching proper depth thus not achieving proper muscle activation and strength.
@piersonlaplante69213 жыл бұрын
Squatting deep, with conventionally deemed "proper" form can actually overdevelop some muscles in the legs, which is why sports like football or track, where running at very high speeds is prioritized, don't go deep on squats.
