PSA : Just a reminder to road crews (no matter what you’re doing on the side of the), Make eye contact with traffic driving by! People driving by do not know what you are doing unless you acknowledge that you know they are there. The speed of the drivers going by is part of reason why road side workers get hit. The other part is that neither knows what the other is doing. When I go by, I assume the worker is going to step or fall right in front of me. Complacency kills! Thanks for being a pretty good guy Casey!
@ericcastle3802 ай бұрын
As a man who stops traffic for a living, trust me when I say this doesn't work. A roadside worker can only make eye contact with a driver if and only if that Driver is observant. It isn't the speed that kills us, it's the inattentiveness of motorists. And if you continually keep eyes on drivers, you can't get the job done. It's a lose-lose situation. A roadside worker, a tow truck driver, a police officer, a fireman, a flagger we all have to be vigilant and expect that every driver has their face buried in their phone. It's the only way to survive.

@@kadmow That's why I said a fixture and a cheap folding trailer It should be possible to slide the scoop at right angles to the truck with a small trailer. the trick would to find the center of gravity of the complete scoop so it can tilt 5 degrees in any direction. that way the tow bar's lift cylinder can position the scoop.
@kadmow2 ай бұрын
@@MartinSmiltneek , hahaha, too many specifics there, possibilities. As an Engineering "challenge" there are so many options ( the initial design is simply mecano-esque able to be assembled piecemeal into a mass of configuration potential - in man-handlable chunks , the bits can also be stored on the truck when unneeded..) - Its funny, some one (Casey etc) wants to claim 'can't be done' (fake limitations), engineers can always call BS on that - hydeaulics and electrics can do nearly anything (strength-wise) impossible to humanity alone.
