Wondering if water got in the engine and froze it. Happened to me once, changed the oil, and ice came out of the drain tube. A blow dryer with a tarp will thaw it so you can get it corrected. My snowblower lives outside in winter under a rug. Take care.

I'll remember that for future reference. It warmed up enough yesterday for me to take the starter off. The big toothed gear that the starter turns was bound up. I used a dead blow hammer and a cold chisel to very carefully pound between a couple teeth to see if I could move it. It moved and I was able to pull the starter rope some. There was dust and other stuff in there. I greased the rusty gear teeth, put the starter back on, and it started right up like it always has. That was good news.I Woveled the driveway twice and am glad to have my snowblower back!! Do you have problems with mice getting into your motor area? Thanks for the comment. 👍

I had never seen a wovel before. I'm surprised it didn't take off. It seems like a very simple design that makes the work so much easier. Thanks for sharing.

I admit I've never seen a contraption like that. I like it and now pushing 72 years young it would probably make my job easier for sure. Fortunately, we have had little snow here this season. Much warmer temps than normal.

Cool! I wish we were going to have a white Christmas, but no luck this year. That Wovel looks like it does a great job!

Grew up in NJ in a city, never had to shovel snow but played in it. Dad was transferred to Florida when I was 11, and I have only seen snow once since then. It's beautiful in the country, but I've become a beach person these last 50+ yers. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I think I would like to try being a beach person. 😊

I just got a two stage that didn't run in years from a neighbor. One $12 carburetor and a couple belts (for the auger and drive not for me) and it runs great. I do need to look at the electric start but it works well enough.

You may need some starting fluid (usually an ether mixture in a spray can) to get the snowblower going.

Its called a Snow Wolf and it can be had for a mere $179.90, but it is out of stock at the moment. Guessing they sold out after this video! My Dad never owned a snow blower until I moved out either! I just shoveled out the driveway at our old house (on the market) yesterday using the straight shovel and a scoop shovel. Good exercise. I'll admit I did go out and priced a Snowblower for where I am currently living and will leave old yeller at the other place.

Mine has “Sno Wovel” printed on it. It’s a terrible name. Someone must have figured that out and changed it to “Snow Wolf.” But I don’t think that is much better. My suggestion would be “Whizbang Big Wheel Back Saver Snow Shovel.” 😊 I think I paid $110 for mine, or somewhere around that. A lot of money, but it is well made. Thanks for the comment.

Something I was recently apprised of was to use a propane weed torch with a grill propane tank to melt snow. So I just got one to try out. Since my driveway is gravel, it's a pain in the rear to shovel and not shovel up a bunch of gravel with it. I think melting the snow might be better.

When I left my parents home, Dad got himself a riding lawnmower and got rid of the wood burning furnace. 🤔

How about pulling the cord? It still has a manual pull start. I use mine when the electric start doesn’t work. Pulling the cord will start it too.
@herrickkimball17 күн бұрын
The cord wouldn’t pull. 😕 I used the machine a couple weeks back with no problem. Oil level is good. We’re supposed to get a warm day shortly and I’ll get it going. 👍

A snowblower doesn't work very well with heavy, wet snow either.

I tried. Won’t budge. Oil level is good. Ran great a couple weeks ago. Weather thaw is coming and I’ll get it going. Thank you. 👍
