5 years after my wife was killed on the operating table, I can still send myself into a crying, hyperventilating mess by reliving the memory of the moment they told me. Still happens 3 or 4 times a month, although I try to avoid it obviously. Sometimes it just happens. I was in an unresponsive fog for the first few months after, this dude chuckling away makes me sick. EDIT: I just want to thank everyone for such overwhelming positivity. With the exception of surprisingly few trolls, I read all of these and they make me a little happier, even if I may cry while reading them. I don't have any kids or want to date, since we were together from 15 years old I honestly wouldn't even know where to start. You may not think it, but sometimes just a quick positive comment or small conversation, even with a total stranger, could possibly be making their day a lot better. You never know what the person next to you is going through.

On the other hand he seems totally honest in this lack of emotions. He doesn't try to cover it. His body posture is honest also. Imo he is dysfunctional or just emotionless person. There are such people among us, including myself. I have one of the personality disorders, called "avoidance personality". I hardly ever feel emotions. The more stressful situation, the more calm I am! My whole psychological system is concentrated on avoiding the emotions and whenever I can do it I'm very happy. I don't even like to feel joy for example. (I spent last 20 years on different therapies and finally I started to feel some emotions. For example last year I started to feel angry on my first boyfriend, which is 30 years after we met! (I'm 45 and was properly diagnosed 5 years ago).) Imo normal people very often can't understand the difference between emotions and morality. Just because they are lucky to be normal, and they cannot imagine the situations of somebody who is not so lucky to be so normal as them. Emotions are something we can't influence. They just happen to us. (Even to me. They still happen to my body&mind, my personality disorder just "pushes them out of my view".) This is why we humans also learn morality. There are psychopaths for example, who are lucky enough to be diagnosed and understand the diagnosis, and despite they still don't feel remorse while hurting others, they don't do that, because they learnt the common morality and use it on the daily basis. They are still unable to feel the normal emotions, but they are able to learn normal knowledge about emotions. This is hudge difference! This guy may feel dozens of different emotions or may feel no emotions at all - these are just chemical reactions of his body and mind and he has no power or minimum power over them. Yet, he has a power over his actions, his responsibilities, his morality, his ethics, he has to obey the law, he is a part of his civilisation, his society, his nation, etc, etc. This is why the lack of emotions is not the key to the case. The key to the case is whether he is honest in his testimony. Including the lack of the emotions. If he would cover the lack of the emotions "OMG OMG my beloved wife is dead, noooo, I couldn't even think about thaaaat" - this would be imo much more suspicious than his obvious lack of emotions during this meeting. (We don't know whether emotions won't for example "hit" him couple days later, such situations are also possible with human brains.)

If you have never had a weapon fire at you with intent to kill i strongly suggest refraining from making statements on what should be done when a conflict with firearms may be involved. He was clearly in on it with her otherwise he would have been straight in that door. His lack of emotion, the fact that he bounced straight to this woman after her death, the jovial nature of his discussion after being told his wife was executed. Driving around waiting for police to arrive first. And then all of the evidence that one obviously would have been destroyed or removed if taken, and if the purpose was just to kill the woman, you wouldn't also go and take her belongings and keep them unless you were planning on having a fall guy to plant evidence on. They were hoping they would get away with it cleanly, but when pressure rose and the spotlight turned to them, they finally decided to plant all of the evidence, and report him so that they could get all of the attention off themselves. Plus the way the fall guy spoke was not that of a guilty man. That was genuine surprise and fear. They had planned this together from the beginning to remove his wife from the picture. When she found out Des was pregnant that was their time to do it otherwise he wouldn't be able to leave her.

@@smsiv He didn't plea guilty. Did you even listen? lmao He maintains his innocence, but realizes that the evidence doesn't look good against him. And why doesn't it look good? Because he was set up. Herp derp. The huge red flag to me is that he apparently went into so, so much detail with that lady from what she is telling the investigators, and then when they ask her if she can get him to admit to it again with a wire on (and you see the wheels turning in her head from being asked that and how she knows that isn't going to work because she's making it all up), and suddenly she can't get him to talk about it anymore and he doesn't even know what she's talking about. That should have been HUGE red flags that it was all a set up. No one is going to be obsessed and trusting with someone and tell them EVERY little detail a year later about a murder they committed for no apparent reason, and then act like they don't know what they are talking about. Holy shit. I like interrogation videos because it is entertaining to see what crazy stuff the guilty will do and say. I assumed that this video would end like usual, with Scott and Paige being arrested and convicted after telling obvious lies, clearly scheming a murder plot, and framing a scapegoat. I can not believe their plan actually worked. Marty was duped by a manipulative monster, as she herself coldly said, "He worships the ground I walk on". Be very careful who you trust kids.

It never fails that when people are lying they give far too many details. You can tell they have practiced the story dozens of times and they likely feel like the amount of words they are saying is going to increase their believability. If you look at interrogations from people who were uninvolved, they will normally give their story in about 2 or 3 minutes and then police have to spend the next hour asking for more details. When someone is lying, they start giving the history of every gun they own when no one even asked.

Paige’s description of Marty’s motivation to kill Desiree doesn’t make sense AT ALL. Why would Marty do that for them? So Paige & Scott can be together? Huh? Who on earth would do that? But the police bought into it and conveniently found all the evidence at Marty’s office. Paige sounds like a narcissistic manipulator who wanted to be with Scott, told Scott she was pregnant with his baby and plotted the whole plan with Scott. Paige did tell the police the real motivation to murder Desiree, except she took out her name and replaced it with Marty’s name, added a few snotty tears and sent Marty to prison. Horrible.

Exactly! If I was marty I would've pled not guilty and taken my chance with a jury. Any half decent lawyer could build a case implicating scott and paige based off of their interrogation videos alone. They're shockingly cold about someone close to them being murdered, if anyone has a reason to be unemotional its fucking Marty who didn't even know the victim! Paige obviously related to scott's narcissism (him looking down on blue collar workers, keeping himself "smartly dressed" as he says to the cops) and thought he'd be better at providing for her than whoever really knocked her up. Bet she was jealous of scott buying his wife a new motorbike etc. And her being pregnant was the catalyst for scott to agree to the plan. She literally described the whole murder and was the only one who could actually benefit from des being out the way, plus the whole "He (i) wanted her to have an open casket funeral" that was dark AF. They need to send these 'investigators' back to school, half the true crime fanatic community would do a better job.

Here’s my theory: Paige got pregnant, her boyfriend left her and she was afraid of raising the child by herself with little money and no help. So she got Scott to believe the child was his and needed Dez out of the picture so they could be together and she has money and help raising the kid. She needs an untraceable gun and knows Marty has one, so she borrowed it from him and she and Scott come up with the plan to kill Dez. After Scott and Paige were questioned by police, they knew their stories sounded way too suspect and the police would keep after them until they could gather the evidence they need to charge them for the murder. Paige was probably afraid Marty might go to the police first, telling them Paige borrowed his gun, so she framed Marty for the crime first. The story she gave that Marty wanted Paige and Scott to be together because of the baby is absurd, especially because he was supposedly interested in her too. Marty had no motive to kill Dez, but Paige and Scott certainly did.

So Marty wanted to murder someone basically for no reason. Was he really going to take the chance of going to prison for the rest of his life just because his friend was pregnant with a married man’s baby? And we’re supposed to think that Marty magically knew that the wife (Dez) would cause trouble for his friend (Paige) and that he needed to murder her (Dez) in case she caused problems? These are genuinely some of the worst detectives ever seen on this channel. The obviously super-lying Scott not interrogated at all. Never presented with proof of his lies about Paige. Then they go full steam ahead with incredibly obvious frame job on Marty. Because yeah, you'd definitely take jewelry that connects you to a murder and keep it around the house like a coffee table book. You wouldn't sell it or get rid of it, that'd be crazy.

@@erinnicole3170 Yeah, like did they ask around at all to see if anyone entered the guy's home.. check nearby surveillance cameras, check cell phone tower pings for Paige and Scott.. or maybe ask themselves why a jealous boyfriend would kill his lover's side-action SPOUSE and not.. you know, kill him, the person who is the supposed rival? I don't understand how you could knowingly send a likely innocent man to jail like that. Makes you wonder who the bigger sociopaths really are. The Devil is "literally" in the details. Her explanation of his movements around the property on the night of the murder is more akin to someone who devised the plan rather than someone who was simply relaying a first hand account. No one in her position would present step by step details of the crime if they're innocent. They planned it, and scapegoated him.

My gut feeling is Marty as he described it himself was a scapegoat. He took the plea most probably as the lesser of two probable evils. There is one if not two killers who got away with this murder. Free to roam and hurt others.
