This is about right. I grew up in Minnesota and got stationed in California with the Air Force way back in the 90s. I found that people out there are not interested in talking to a stranger. He appeared so friendly after being in California for several months.

It is so funny, because I am from Arizona and both these guys I find to be weird. 😂 I recently moved to California and the West Coast guy is exactly what I noticed, like they were edgy and cagey, like I wanted something from them when I was just being nice. But the Midwesterner seems very intimidating to me, as I am Introvert and I would be unsure how to react. It is so interesting how the different cultural regions of the U.S. behave.
@natalieohlsson7777 Жыл бұрын
I experienced the same thing when I first moved to Los Angeles eight years ago. Since then I’ve acclimated, because when in Rome, you kinda learn what the Romans do. I will say, that there are a lot of shady untrustworthy people in Southern California, mostly Los Angeles so it’s actually wise to not trust people so quickly. We tend to observe a lot here and then make decisions whether or not we want to speak with someone. It’s just kind of the way. It goes here. Once you get used to it it’s just normal for us and nobody’s offended if somebody doesn’t want to talk, we get it.
