CPS will call the police for you anyways :) As much as I and everyone else despises CPS, this is one of those cases where it actually needs their involvement. Nobody that is willing to ABANDON their helpless child (infant or not) in the middle of no-where deserve to be a parent. No heads up, no asking ahead of time, absolutely zero communication with anyone before you did it. Nope.. no second chances for you, do not pass go do not collect $200. Your free hysterectomy is in 2 hours, that nice officer right there will take you straight there. Byyyyyye!

Chances are they'd just tell you to call CPS yourself. 😞 I can't imagine, even for a person that genuinely hates kids, that anyone would leave an infant to freeze to death. That'd be just cruelty for cruelty's sake. Truly monstrous behavior. 😠

this is why it is especially important to get verbal confirmation with another party before doing *anything* where the child would no longer be in your care. you dont let them go until you hear "yeah, i've got them, go ahead" i had a family member who drowned in a pool during a party, everyone thought that another person was watching over them. ending up in *no one* watching them, and sadly that's all the time it takes.

@@rachelann9362- Actually police notify CPS immediately on getting a call for a child abandonment and then its a question of who arrives first, majority of the time its the police, but now and then CPS arrive before the cops do.

I used to work as an editor for a company that had clients demanding extremely short turnover times. Mistakes happen. Don’t be too hard on them. Now that it’s been pointed out, they will most likely spot the mistakes and do a reupload. No need to bash them too hard, at least you know this was edited by a human.

The rat story struck close to home. I recently took one of my mice in because I thought her health was in jeopardy. Being unable to afford any type of testing or treatment, and her being a senior mouse, I was fully prepared to have her put down. The amazing vets were able to get her examined and address her crisis without raising the bill too much. I was paying for the medication, my three girls snuggled in my carrier. A gruff lady came up next to me and told a tech she was here to pick her dog up from boarding. She asked what I had, and being in a very good mood, moved the carrier towards her. “They are my mice! And they’re all very happy they get to have their sister for a little longer.” She stepped back like I had tried to hand her a human turd. She said “you better get those out of here or my dog will eat them.” I was so stunned I just turned back to the vet handing me my receipt. She gave me a look that said “she’s here all the time and she always sucks, don’t stress about it.” I just couldn’t believe the harsh and uncaring attitude she had. People are awful

Denying any joy and sensory stimulation to a kid with autism has to be especially cruel. I can't speak on their behalf, but I've been diagnosed with ADD myself, and there's so many accommodations I could've benefited from in my own childhood that just didn't exist due to the poor understanding of those kind of mental disorders. Autism was probably the earliest disorder I heard of, which was basically boiled down to "that kid is weird and r-tarded" by most people back then and treated like a laughing stock to the point of constant bullying. It's sad that's how my entire generation came to be raised, and I feel lucky to just have been that usually awkward kid who tried to fit in as best I could and fortunate enough to have a decent friend circle and good parents. Can't even imagine how awful it must feel in those developing stages of life to be treated like your very existence doesn't have any value besides living up to astronomically unreasonable standards even by your own parents while nobody around you cares what you think or feel.

@@sovietunion8304 yepyep editing is hard even after processing the video there can be issues like voices being cut/ skipped, visuals can mess up, heck even adding subtitles like in AMVs it can change locations for whatever reason (I am talking about 3 to 15 minutes videos btw) but that few minutes of silence would be a hard miss if they were checking audio issues (I understand missing a second or two due to skipping here and there)

Reminder: Parents are only really nessesary until you are about 17, not even full 18...and in some places, 16 is just fine as long as you cna grab a job. They owe YOU for existing, so if they treat you horribly, leave. Leave them to rot, they are not worth any headache. You do not owe tham a lick of anything! I’m assuming the poor baby probably had some sort of cover? Otherwise they would’ve been severely burned being left out in the sun for 12+ hours. My toddler was very independent and explorative, he went from walking to running in less than a day. After too many times of realizing he'd made a break for the road or something dangerous i started dresssing him in lightup shoes and a little cowbell clipped to his back belt loop. They certainly do have their uses! It’s mainly as fun for the kid, but I can absolutely see their use an alert to where a potential escaper/runner is. Like how I put a bell on on one of my cats because she thinks she’s an outdoor cat but has ZERO sense of self-preservation. (any time we add a dog to the household, or when SHE was added to household, she runs straight up to the dog and basically throws herself at their mouth-mind you, I’ve only ever had pits.. this could be REALLY bad. I’ve had to introduce dogs to the household on leash AND muzzled even when they’ve been cat tested because she will absolutely treat the new dog like it’s her bff the instant she see it. She’d probably throw herself at a fox or a coyote. And her defense mechanism is to throw herself to the ground and expose her belly. Granted, I always leash new dogs for a few weeks and would regardless of her actions, but that initial greet from her is nerve wracking.w

I appreciate that the channel is trying something new; it's definitely good to switch things up and test things out to keep things from getting stale! Especially on the creation side, to help try to prevent burnout. But it just feels like the stock footage is a lot of extra work for a channel that a lot of people put on in the background. I may be wrong and in the minority here, but unless you are covering a subreddit with a lot of images, I'm just listening while I do other tasks. If I hadn't switched back to check what happened with the audio, I wouldn't have even known that the stock footage was a thing.

Yes please, I found the 'older format' to be more charming. I like an intro and outro to a video instead of jumping from 0 to 100 and cutting off at the end.

This was unfortunately a statistical decision. There were a lot of people skipping the intro and outros of Emkay videos, hurting the videos in the eyes of the algorithm, so they cut them, so people can watch them back to back without interruption (minus ads) and the channel gets better reception in the eyes of the algorithm.

The story with the rat reminds me of how I was recently stranded at a train station in the middle of nowhere in a blizzard with my two pet pigeons in a carrier. It was when school was out too, so there I was, ugly crying because I didn't know when my next train would come and how to get where I needed to be, and one girl walked up and was like: "Are those pigeons???" And I, sobbing, said: "Yes." She asked: "But are they like special pigeons that you can bring with you everywhere?" And I was like: "AS YOU CAN SEE!" 😂 I didn't even meen to be snappy with her, I was just so DONE. My pigeons are fine though, luckily, and the girl was happy enough just looking at them.

12:28- This year, I wanted stuff for Christmas that could only really be bought via proxying from Japan. I simply asked for the money and did the shopping myself so nobody would have to deal with it besides me, and wound up getting some stuff I'm really happy with! Thing is, I'm also 20, not 5, and they're collectibles for stuff I'm personally interested in, like some older limited edition Ace Attorney games.

Note on the Lion King: it’s a particularly loud and grand performance and I think any child under five would get overloaded, not to mention a baby. Sometimes it feels like your shaking and you can hear your heart pumping at five mph. I would not suggest you bring anyone with a single digit age. Still a fantastic performance.

I was showing my family my new tattoo. Mom liked it. Brother liked it. Uncle, Cousins, some friends who were there. My dad pipes up and says "I don't like tattoos. Never approved of them." I just looked at him across the dinner table "I showed you my first one, and you said you liked it. This is number 7." I said. Ugh I have my own gyno/mom not respecting boundaries story. I think I'm autistic,and I very much do not like to be touched.i also don't drive or make phonecalls because I have such bad anxiety. She kept nagging that I should get a pap smear and I kept saying no. I'm not sexually active and I've been vaccinated for HPV there's like really no reason to get one. She books the appt and drags me there. There's a cancellation fee if u cancel without enough notice and I was broke so it's not like I could really bail and I don't want her to waste the money.... Anyway I cried through the whole thing and the gyno was so nice trying her best to help me relax but I just did not want to be there. And then after all that I was supposed to bus home. This was 3 years ago but even now I'm crying typing this

The theater one reminds of when I went out to the movies once, and there was a very young toddler or a baby near the front row. If you know anything about movie theaters, the front is the LOUDEST area in the room. So obviously, cue crying every time the music got loud.

I cracked the code! My parents are like these but i have a great relationship with them now! All you have to do is move overseas. They lose interest because well, they cant torment you or get anything from you. We have outright boring, normal calls and while she does complain about my siblings quite often its not hard to act sympathetic for such a short period!

If that boy is under the age of 16 and being treated like that I'd be making a call to CPS and saying you have concerns, while you may not have many details such as name and address, if she didnt fill out the form giving permission to service the vehicle and it was just verbal, you do have her license plate number, which CPS can get all the details on. 25:30 - Back when my grandmother was alive she used a wheelchair, which I would push around, when she went out for anything that we knew would require her walking more than ten feet, which was just about all the time. Well, one time on the bus this Karen of a mother, this was before they were really known as such, demanded the same thing. Now, my gran would now and then bring her walking stick with her that she used around the home. Well this Karen saw it and stated she can use that, stating her precious angel needs her sleep. The little girl was asleep and looked to be around 5. Well, my gran pulled it out from its holder, and the Karen thought she was moving, install my gran held it and just went matter of factly, and loudly. "Woman, the only thing I am going to use it is on your dumbass head if you think I am getting out of this wheelchair because you dont want to wake your child." The bus driver at this point wasnt having any of it with the Karen and pulled her off the bus. And yes, my gran would have smacked her one with it.

A couple years ago, I used to be friends with a Trans masc kid, and we were doing very well together, until I invited him to my house, where he would start casually insulting my entire family like it was nothing, despite my family welcoming him. Our family had a talk with his parents about his behavior, and they denied his unpleasant behavior, calling us "Transphobic." My family isn't transphobic in the slightest, in fact, I'm relatively nonbinary, as my family lets me dress in whatever I want and I let people use whatever pronouns on me. When I confronted him personally, he called me a "Wannabe," since I wasn't taking any transgender procedures because I was scared of them. I tried to get him out of my life but he began stalking me via the school Internet for the next few months. Once summer was over, I immediately shut him down and told my principal, and he was suspended.

You know, I rarely ever comment because I don't have much to say. But I've gotta comment on this because I have a feeling I'm not the only one thinking it: the change from having the subreddit in the title to not having it listed in the title is really, really annoying. I genuinely hope the channel goes back to its old way of formatting the video title soon.

I'd argue it doesn't technically impact the video quality that much, but I completely agree. I don't think the change will be reverted considering EmKay's been hearting comments that support the change, but at least enough people are speaking out about it. Hopefully, the channel will explain the change soon -- it might have to do with monetization, which would be fair.
