I think Blue probably didn’t have his cap open to black, so he stacked in front to block him until he could kill. Looked like a good play to me.

I find my misread of the board here so funny! I'm not entirely sure what I would have done if I was in blues seat because yeah he probably wasn't open, I think I would have farmed black for cards since it was his final position and killed him when I inevitably became open. Definitely should not have hit his 40 stack though. Oops!

You might have noticed this already, and it's hard to see because you were attacking so fast, but unless I'm mistaken, black wasn't card blocked. In fact, black held the territory just south of his capital at the time you ran up there. Blue and black were maybe trading that one. PS: maybe attack a little slower 😅

yeah the territory in denmark made it so that blacks only possible cards would be if blue gave them one so that's how I define a card block

Hey Pete, do you feel the strategy of playing risk live (in person on a board) is any different than on pc? I feel it's harder to make alliances and such because people don't understand how good neighbor benefits them.

Good vid, but I'm curious on your thoughts on block vs kill. Black had 32 on cap. With the trades so low, the kill would be very negative. With a block , you can just wait until card value increases or black fortifies off cap. You also don't need a 46 stack for the block. Wouldn't that be better than such a negative kill? And I agree that getting out of a 6 player game as soon as feasibly possibe is ideal as well.

Fundamentally I was just really surprised by the move which is why I ran through a 46 stack without looking because there was no way to even fathom why it would be there. If I'm in blues position I don't keep black blocked, I try to farm them for cards and kill them at the right time because as you said it's too early.
