I never really thought of it as being a rule book, but that is a perfect example of what goes through my head. My problem is, since I am typically a better dribbler than most of my opponents, I try and predict what I would do if I was them. I usually beat myself in defense because of this. Thinking of it more of a rule, instead of trying to predict, is smart. Solid video man, keep it up!

You've received plenty of praise for the editing and the video as a whole, so my praise will be directed at the very first thing that impressed me; something that is often overlooked: the thumbnail. The gradient on the border looks really good and does well to catch the eye. The shadow/glow you have underneath it gives it some nice looking depth, and the 3d look of the title goes with it perfectly, as well as the arrow. Usually I get annoyed by arrows in the thumbnail but yours provides a real purpose; it's not there to just look flashy and point at something that was already plenty noticeable, it's indicating the direction you should be heading, as per the subject of the video. Also, the placement of it is perfect. It comes from in front of the car and over the border, keeping with and emphasizing the 3d theme. And finally, the contrast of the image with the arena being black and white, while the cars and ball retain their color; a look that was most likely achieved with some careful and tedious work with the pen tool. Maximum effort was put into that thumbnail and the work paid off. Scrolling through my subscription page, your thumbnail was easily the most eye-catching thumbnail to catch my eye in a sea of thumbnails trying to be eye-catching to catch someone's eye. Did I mention it was eye-catching? Good shit dude. Keep this up and your Utoob status will be on par with your influence on Reddit. TL;DR nice thumbnail bruh

This was a really good presentation of giving someone an in depth analysis of some plays without having them click off lol. The subtle memes were also quite good. I've actually been really annoyed recently at the fact that I'm bad at challenging and usually end up flopping around at shadow defense, so the timing of the video is great.

I know this is 2 years old. But I'm glad that I've got these OGs to learn from. Shadowing is my favourite defending position. One thing I learnt from another OG about challenging is when the opponent has possession but isn't in full control of the ball is a potentially good time to challenge.

Really informative, and slo-mo helps a lot. 7:48, I always flip to the left as I want to clear the ball to the left. But my car also moves left through the air, so I always miss the ball. The slo mo really makes it clear, sometimes, it is just about getting a good touch on the ball, and allow the deflection rather than the flick decide the direction
@RSTaku6 жыл бұрын
This was so helpful musty. Please do more of this for things like offense, or specifically for 2v2 or 3v3 because i know in those gamemodes u can be alittle more risky with your challenges and u just want to make the opponent do something rather than win the challenge.

I really like the fact that you brought up "MENTAL RULE BOOKS". Maybe in the future you can expand on that, and give us a glimpse @ (your) mental playbook. I just recently got my diamond rewards and noticed a few key weak points in my game. 1. Adapting to teammates 2. Knowing when to challenge (I was always told to challenge everything and if I miss its okay because at least i tried.) 3. Consistency. I'm not worried about number 3, but I'm very concerned about 1 & 2. You did a great job at explaining 2. So now it comes down to applying and reapplying until it becomes 2nd nature.
@doughtyc48966 жыл бұрын
Can you do some examples in 2v2 or 3v3 when to actually challenge the ball it would really help me and probably many ppl out to! Keep up the good work.

hey dude i know this is an old video so you might nott see this but 1. this helps alot and 2. i'd love to see a guide on how to play against players plat and under, because most of the guides and stuff i see make sense against higher level players who do things like dribbling and ceiling shots and alot of fast paced ariels/hard hits. This means that you have to play that way too in order to keep up but against lower level players who quite often will miss the ball completely or not hit it that hard and not get the ball up in the air, basically in my opinion its a completely different skill set and i myself and i see others in the lower ranks struggling with this kinda problem. thanks

Great video, I love this video so much because you discussed something of which I had no idea what it was... Most tutorials or tip videos only say things I already know and don't help me at all. However, this video is on a subject which I bet, many people wouldn't know about. I hope sometime soon you could create a video talking about 1's rotation/positioning - that would help me a lot. My problem is I suck at shadowing! I mean I'm not that bad at it, but one of the first clip you showed and you said you saved it easily, I'm almost sure I would have conceded (I'm only dimaond 2-3 in 1s). So to avoid shadowing, I try to challenge the fastest I can to not let my opponent have any space.

My problem is that I always assume the worst case scenario, ie, the opponent had the higher likelihood of getting the outplay on me because he will flick or will 50/50 me. Often I am actually the one with the advantage but my mind I already assume I will lose so I either go all out or let them gain possession. I end up losing really stupid challenges frequently but sometimes it is the difference between a loss and a save.
