When to Grind AA on an EverQuest Progression Server

I decided to stop trying to search for information on the fastest AA level during Planes of Power to Gates of Discord level 65 era and instead conducted my own controlled test.

As a bard swarm charm kiting in the Crypt of Nadox was great, and a good time to do it

@@vanman2099 I wish I was tech savvy enough. I can give pointers though! At that level, your charm can reach just far enough to keep you at a safe distance. Make sure you have an instant invis vs (anything works). Goblin gazhugi ring or tiny cloak of darkness are great options. Also, ribbon of empathy is a nice tool here and there for positioning pet during kite. Gather all mobs in a large chamber (use 3rd person view, far, to act like a surelveillance camera for spawns and kite path) selo to stay ahead, charm, pet attack a mob in swarm, clickie invisible item to break charm before pet dies, charm new pet, pet attack on previous pet to kill it. Rinse repeat til last mob, chant kite it's last bits of health, or escape battle. If pet has problems attacking swarm, get a good distance ahead with selo, and ribbon of empathy to summon pet to attack head on. I think there was a bard on here named Hola Hola, that had some good videos of alarans or something

I'm curious about the effect of diminishing returns on aa's at certain thresholds. I dont know what the thresholds are exactly but they exist for sure. I'm on Mischief right now and I know that my berserker at 200+aa currently gets a LOT less per kill than he did at fresh 65. Does being level 64 negate this? Did you receive the exact same amount per kill all the way up to 150aa? I guess server matters also. Oh and I dont run a group. I two box, a melee(i level one of each and play w/e suits me for the day) with a shaman box, and I found this information interesting and informative and certainly not useless. Information is Information and great to have more of in all aspects. Just because someone may not be able to see or know what to do with said Information doesn't mean it's useless.

I haven't seen any diminishing returns based on how many AA I have, these tests were done on Mischief, I only have a few characters with over 600aa but they get the same as a fresh level 65. Silly question but were you fighting with the same group setup / levels against the same level mobs when you noticed a decrease? It's been really consistent but I do have an advantage in that I get to see AA gains with fresh 65s and with 65s that have a lot of AA as I'm doing this at the same time.

@@vanman2099 Yea that could have been the case for sure. I run with a fairly consistent group and I have a character coming up on 65 so I'll try it with two different aa level characters when I hit max on the newer toon. Maybe I am wrong or possibly it was on an xp bonus weekend and my memory is foggy on it. Will let you know :)

The video was just to show what level you get the fastest AA at, however you exp at that level is up to you whether its solo, duo, boxed 2, buy a power level group people sell etc. I know a lot of people that don't have a way to box or friends in game to help just do the AoE Power Leveling groups and pay the plat/krono to level, this video will help you save time and money if you use that route.
