Agree with you: forget the 12 weeks. From 6-8 and from 8-12weeks is the most important. The vets advice is also important to wait after the 12 week. Solution: the owner should in the 8-12 weeks, keeping in concern the responsability to reduce the risk for the pup!

i took my puppy to a festival out in the piney woods, at 9 weeks. We stayed in the RV, and she was out in the crowd most of the day and into the night. With plenty of time outs for naps. She insisted on meeting every single vendor. She had a great time. But she also learned that all she needed was attitude, to dominate older and bigger puppies.

I would love to get a border collie puppy to help me cope better with my anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia and my own social fears. However I have 3 cats that I love very much and I am worried that bringing a new puppy might be scared of the cats and vice versa. Is there any advice you could give about helping a border collie puppy adjust to cats and how to help cats cope with a new member of the family?

Puppies aren't usually scared of other animals when they are little, I think it's the cats you're going to worry about the most, I'd say introduce them slowly and maybe one by one, this really depends on how the cats are with other dogs, it'll be a bit more easier with a puppy, because it's smaller than them so the cats probably wouldn't feel threatened but maybe territorial.

i have three cats, my puppy was never afraid of them. They were a challenge for her to figure out. She bonded with out tom, but aggravates the cats. She'll stand just out of reach while they repeated try to swat her. I think the cats like this game too. They'll come to her to start it on occasion.
