Thank you, this was a great reminder of how Vitali Klitschko became a great without many people noticing. Vitali is also my favorite boxer of all time. In a sport where most boxers are wife beaters, showboats and just classless, Vitali showed his character each time he confidently moved forward with a We Will see instead of a diatribe about how awful the other person was. He was a warrior in and out of the ring. I miss watching him fight. He is one of the best though he will never be remembered that way in the West.

I'm Ukrainian and I always thought it was strange how many dismissed the Klitschkos and their reign in boxing, calling it the "boring era". This was an amazing documentary and recap, and I appreciate that Vitali was your idol growing up--a great idol to look up to both in and outside the ring. And now, Usyk has avenged the Klitschkos by defeating Fury, and becoming even greater in boxing history as one of if not the GOAT on all metrics. Like the great Muhammad Ali (idol of Usyk), some boxers fight for more than just the sport, but for ideals/nation/freedom, elevating their style altogether. Thank you my brother, keep up the amazing work - from a Ukrainian 🇺🇦💪

It's strange because it's a HUGE part of an "agenda" that flies in the face of reality. You've probably never heard of the "Frankfurt School" either. "THEY" couldn't have a mainstream "WHITE" HW Champion. It ruins their narrative and their brainwashing. Same people that are behind "White Men Can't Jump". If you're not American.. you have probably never heard that before either. It's such horrible propaganda as white men have won the last 6 or 7 Olympic "High Jump" Gold Medals. Not sure about your location but there aren't even white men in any commercials anymore in America.

Vitali's record indicates he is one of the greats of boxing! Against Chris Byrd in a title fight he was easily winning on points before he tore a rotator cuff. The contest was stopped. This bout was counted as a loss. Supposedly, the only ' household big name' he fought was Lennox Lewis. Vitali was winning on points before the cut caused the bout to be stopped in round 6. Post fight, Lewis was an ungracious, lucky victor, claiming it was a matter of time before he, LL, won. Lewis retired shortly afterwards, indicating he wanted to avoid a rematch with Klitschko at all costs. The aforementioned are recorded as his only losses, when Klitschko was winning on points before the premature conclusion of both contests. Vitali's knock out record is phenomenal! Hardly anybody went the distance against him over a 40 odd bout career. Moreover, he appeared to win almost every round he fought in every contest. Along with Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano and Cassius Clay/Mohammed Ali in the 60s, Vitali Klitscho has to be considered one of the all time greats in boxing history, even if others like his brother, Wladimar, have been better technicians and more stylish. Vitali K was very dominant over the course of his long, successful career. It wasn't his fault his career was at the end of a strong era, when Foreman, Tyson, Holmes, Holyfield, Bowe and Lewis, were close to their prime.

We watched some of the pre-fight programming and we picked Klitchko as our man because we thought Lewis was arrogant and entitled and needed knocked down a peg. Watching the fight, even as someone with very little boxing knowledge, it was obvious that Klitchko dominated for all 6 round and that Lewis was finished by the end of those 6 rounds and it was clear in the interviews afterward that Lewis knew he lost thr fight, but his ego couldn't take it. What an amazing introduction to the sport. I was have loved to see Vitaly fight the likes of Tyson Fury or a prime George Forman. Vitaly is definitely the most underrated boxer of all time.

Imagine Vitali’s natural toughness and fighting instinct combined with Wladimir’s strength and natural technical talents. Now that would really been insane.

@halittheprofit ehhh his younger bro would get whooped if they fought. And those things you call Vladimir better at is debatable… vitali had a better chin. Record and has fought chisora and Lennox when they were at their best. And his brother also has a “weak” shot taking ability to say the least
@dvr13372 жыл бұрын
vitaly was stronger and more technical actually.

Wow just compare the Armateur record of wladimir with anthony Joshua's. 134 wins out of 140 fights. Aj has only 34 fights and 4 losses. Here you can see how much effort the klitschko brother had to put in to become pros because they came from a soviet country.

Very true my friend! Most fighters have to bust their butt to ever get a shot. Nothing is given to 99.9% of the people in this sport. You have to earn it to make it...except if you are marketable sadly. But looks mean nothing in this sport. Look at Fury he doesn't look like an athlete at all but next to Usyk hes the best boxer on the planet. Thanks for watching brother!

Wladimir Klitschko was more active than any recent heavyweight champion, and he fought in a record 29 heavyweight championship matches. He defended his title against all comers in four countries on three continents. He made 5 successful title defenses in his first reign as champion and an astonishing 18 in his second reign, which covered more than 11 years. Wladimir is one of the greatest Super Heavyweights who ever lived. Unfortunately haters must hate and Wlad is known more for 3 losses - to Puritty in 1998, to Sanders in 2003 and to Brewster in 2004 - than for any of his wins. But he re-established himself after the loss to Brewster and reeled off 22 consecutive victories before ending his career with back-to-back losses to Fury and Joshua, dealing him his first losses in 11 years at the age of 40. He retired with a 64-5 record, a 25-4 mark in heavyweight title fights and 53 knockouts. He never ducked anyone, but was never fully appreciated. He was a brilliant athlete, a magnificently proportioned and conditioned giant of a man. He weighed 245 pounds, stood 6 feet, 6 inches with an 81-inch reach and a jab that may have been exceeded in heavyweight history only by Holmes and Ali. He moved like a man much smaller, light on his feet and, thanks to the tutelage of the late, great Emanuel Steward, cut off the ring expertly. For all his greatness in the ring, though, what made Klitschko special was his presence outside of it. He was a man of arts and letters, owner of a doctorate in sports science, a charitable man who tirelessly raised money for children and who fought for human rights around the world. In 2014, he famously stood shoulder-to-shoulder with his brother, leading anti-government protests in the Ukraine. He made the world a better place for many with his efforts, standing as a symbol of courage and defiance in the face of overwhelming political power. Today the Klitschko brothers stand their ground to fight Russia. They are not a dodger and/or traitor like someone we know.

31:04 thanks again for this very well put together video. I'm not sure about what you said at that time I stamped up there. Check out more of Kid Dynamites right hook body, right uppercut head combos, I think he makes a strong case to stake that claim 😁. Either way great video and I'd like to hear about Wladimirs early career!

Very true brother! However Kid Dynamite was under 6 foot tall and weighed 218 poinds. Vitaly is 6 foot 7 and weighed 245 pounds. Thats why I thought it was very special to see someone do that because at his size and weight you dont see many people doing this sort of punch combos. But yes Iron Mike was the best to do this combo for sure. Thanks bro! I really appreciate your feedback.

No kick boxer ever became a heavy weight boxing champion before. He is the only one to make that transition. Randy Tex Cob was a heavyweight kick boxer but he never became a boxing champion . Vitali is also the only fighter to have a PHD and like his brother Wladimir they speak several languages . Vitali is now Mayor of Kiev . They are totally unique especially as they both fought in the same weight class and in the same time holding all belts in between them at one time YET they dont get the credit they so clearly deserve and the reason is simple . They were not Yankees or English men . Can you imagine two american or english brothers ruling the division in between them. You never hear the end of it. They were based in Germany and had a German promoter so the big yankee events and money was missing . They both did not fall for Don King and both saw him for what he was. A dishonest hustling Vampire .

It comes as a shock that both George Foreman and Ken Norton would be two of the lightest fighters the Klitschko brothers have ever faced. George Foreman, whom they called "Big George" had an average median weight of 217 lbs through the entire 1970s. Foreman would be in the BOTTOM-3 of Vitali Klitshcko's LIGHTEST opponents he ever faced. And Ken Norton (208 lbs) would be in Wladimir Kliitschko's BOTTOM-2 LIGHTEST opponents he ever faced.

A truly exceptional tribute to the great Vitali who was never bested in the ring only inconvenienced by injuries whilst dominating fights. Lewis was a truly salty dude who could not give credit to opponent's and the greatest examples of this are his bouts against Bruno, Mercer and Vitali, the post fight interviews in these bouts are truly nauseating. Lewis loved money but wanted no part of the 25 million plus to get smashed about by Dr iron fist again and wisely exited the sport rapid🤣

Thank you for making this video, it was a love letter to your boxing hero; well done! Vitali was terrific in my opinion. I didn't know he was such a gentleman outside the ring, and I love athletes like that, classy and respectful, so I like Vitali even more now, congratulations, another job well done! Also, I read through the comments and I saw some stuff about Americans; full disclosure, I'm an All-American boy and love my country as much as Vitali loves his (and I very much like that he's a patriot too!). Just know that NOT EVERYBODY in America dislikes him or thinks he wasn't a great fighter. Not saying you did this, just as a general point of information. I think what it mostly is, is you try to put together, say, a Top 10 listing of great heavyweights, and there have been so many you just can't fit them all in! Sometimes I think that happens to Vitali. Or it's just a styles thing, and he doesn't appeal for that reason, that doesn't mean he's a bad fighter or whatever. I like hitters at heavyweight, and Vitali sure could hit! I mentioned this in another comment here, I have a tough time keeping him out of my personal Top 5! For my money, he's a solid bet as a guy that could possibly beat any other heavyweight on any given night, given his gifts of size, strength, punching power, beard, ring IQ, physical fitness so he doesn't gas out easy, great trainer to set him up for victories, etc. I think he has, historically, maybe the highest likelihood to do that, either defeat anybody else or even if he loses give them fits and bruises, so they know they've been in a fight (see: Lewis bout). And I don't know what higher compliment you can give a boxer than that! I also didn't know that he so closely mimicked another favorite of mine, the awesome George Foreman. I just looked up Foreman's record before he took 10 years off and lent his crown to all those other guys for awhile lol: 45-2 with 42 KOs for an outstanding 89.36% KO rate. Vitali was 45-2 with 41 KOs for an outstanding 87.23% KO rate. I couldn't believe how closely they matched up: they're boxing brothers from a different mother! No wonder I love both guys so much, they're essentially the same fighter! I was stunned by the similarities in record, amazing warriors, both of them. It also leads me to believe that, if Vitali WERE to mount a comeback, given the thunder in his fists, just like Foreman's thunder in his, he could be successful in his return (though he has his hands full currently battling Russians outside the ring!). Nobody wins all the time, that's just boxing, but Vitali seemed to give a good accounting of himself, always showed up and gave you a great effort, win or lose. Again, that's a huge compliment to hm and his work ethic! Add to that his patriotism and his being a class act outside the ring... sounds like a real winner to me! Also, thank you for sharing that personal story of watching the Lewis fight with your family; that made it clear how special he was to you as a fan. Thanks again for taking the time and effort to make a great biography of a great fighter. Got you a subscription! Take care, sir.

great video. you are 100% right vitali is the most underrated heavyweight of all time. lots of so called boxing fans ive ran across dont even know who he is. I would just take it a step further and say not only is he the most underrated heavyweight ever, but you could make a strong case that he is the best heavyweight ever. The fact he never got knocked down is amazing. He only has 2 loses and he easily could have won both of them. lots of boxing fans say ali or tyson but ali had several bad loses that should definitley remove him from the discussion of best ever, and tyson never even beat a good fighter that im aware of. vitali, lewis, foreman, holyfield, and frazier are my top 5 heavyweights of all time. i wouldnt put tyson or ali in the top 5

I’ll literally never forget that Lewis fight bc I was lowkey a fan of Lennox Lewis and by the end it just felt so unfair. That image is just ingrained in my head - it really seemed like an ungodly amount of blood from that cut, but Vitali Klitschko demanding the fight continue. I’ve never really seen a crowd turn like they did. Vitali won that fight.

Vitali did NOT win the fight. Lewis smashed his face in, and got the stoppage. It was an epic, legendary battle for six rounds - but he lost. Get over it.
