He should’ve visited Pheniox in Arizona as I’ve heard that there’s already a taxi driving around this city for awhile now and it’s called Waymo and several people have already done KZbin videos about this car company already and then I think Google has a car too I think? But this Waymo car company has full self driving cars out for awhile now as I’ve seen a few KZbin videos about them now! Then there’s Tesla as well but they don’t have a full self driving car yet but they are nearly there but you can still buy the full self driving package software upgrade already. So he should’ve travelled to America as well because they are more advanced than Korea and Singapore are so far! I think it’s a great idea though but from the videos I’ve seen online of the Waymo cars it looks scary at first glance but still pretty amazing technology in how far we’ve come in cars! Just wish Australia would catch up with the rest of the world as we don’t have anything like tis yet here but we’ve got Tesla and a few other electric cars but not as much as other countries like America and Europe have got! But I’m a strong supporter of this technology and hope they introduce it everywhere soon!

I live in Phoenix. Waymo is owned by Google and has been providing self-driving taxi service here for over a year. And about four years ago, Uber was already doing it here, but one of their autonomous vehicles killed a jaywalker in Tempe so they shut them down. There’s also another two other autonomous vehicle company here providing delivery services, one for Walmart, the other for Fry’s. In Phoenix, driverless cars hit out roads about 5 years ago, and are all over out streets now.

0:54 I think about this “pod” a lot . instead of pods, I came up with using the cars on the Hyperloop like the van Or any Tesla , so he could sell his Tesla cars which could go on the Hyperloop, at the same time, having the cost of all the pods being placed on the consumer. They also save money on repairs and maintenance costs of maintaining the pods. Could you imagine that replacing a magnetic Levitation train and being a Hyperloop pod? I’ve never seen one of those, but I’ve seen so many in the CGI image of the boring tunnel and the pods and it looks like this with all those windows like a freaking Volkswagen bus. 1:12 I have imagined this so many times… it’s a toaster on wheels (the toaster-mobile?), the weinermobile is going to be jealous… don’t turn going too fast or I hope there’s no crazy winds or you’ll tip over like a semi lol I’m jk That’s a tiny home on wheels. I like it a lot When they come out with steel glass or see-through steel, this is going to make a lot more sense

They’ve been in Phoenix for years, and only one accident that I know of four years ago. Human drivers have many accidents here every day. This technology so far looks to have a much lower chance of mishaps than human drivers.

Spending so much money on AV to have a safety operator behind the wheels. Is equivalent to spending money on cars with drivers. Spending 100 to 200 millions on infrastructure for AV, I don't see a point. Government is smart enough to spend that money on bringing in new port businesses or even upgrading airport for more profits than this AV. Also, It's impossible in Singapore, the AV will have to wait for roads to be cleared before changing lane. Well, you can slowly wait at the side of the road then, no drivers is giving way to AV for turning out even with intended signal lights on.

Also human drivers can't detect pedestrians either when they're driving drunk, on drugs, distracted on their phones, or even asleep at the wheel! With LIDAR and RADAR, autonomous cars can see through fog and many other lighting conditions. Autonomous cars also can perceive all 360° around them at once.

@@danieldaniels7571as the original poster stated, they don’t always detect these pedestrians or obstacles. I’ve literally just watched a video where a Waymo car crashed into a pole. I watched another video where one crashed into a bicyclist who was clearly there. In my 21 years of driving, Ive never crashed into a pole or a bicyclist who was clearly there. The vehicles have many other safety flaws and concerns.

Or if we use light to paint the road so detect drive able lane also cheaper. We need less data but clear signals is better than big data and instead of using bandwidth of frequency we use time as bandwidth because display is only 1/30 hertz while computer capable 20,000,000 hertz then about 600,000 bandwidth with nearly 225 each bandwidth in RGB color table. And add on sound system then very huge integration possible

Well, we shall see how all this pans out with Self Driving Vehicles (SDV) far as safety on the roads. Right now they are in their infancy stage with problems here and there and some have restrictions on routes they take for that safe trip.

Autonomous vehicles, to Korea and many others, are simply an advantage (earn more money, etc.); but to China, it, among other things like 5G, is an existential advantage, meaning: China must get its tech adopted worldwide as much as possible/as fast as possible, to create a new way of life for the world, which can not be sanctioned by the US and their allies, without tremendously damaging the world's progress.
