“If Putin loses this war, the Russian people are going to say 'we don't like a loser, and we particularly don't like a loser who's cost us so much money and so much pain and so many dead bodies' and that will be the end of Putin. But in order to get there, Ukrainians have to win the war," Bill Browder states.

was this comment for me? because what I said wasn't based on either of those ideas. I was just expressing my opinion of how he would likely be "removed", based on what I know, if it were to happen. It would not be very responsible journalism to come onto YT and say "someone is going to take Putin out". He's already isolated more than usual, and is showing very clear signs if distress and paranoia.

Haliburton just backed out of Russia. They run all the small far east oil fields that supply China. Which means China is about to receive even less oil. All the rest of Russian oil has a pipeline infrastructure that goes to the populated portion of Russia and the EU. In order to ship that to China Russia would need to build a pipeline equivalent to the distance of Anchorage Alaska to Miami Florida. With no roads or infrastructure in place.

The first revolution in Russia happened in 1905, after a failed war. The Tsar shot protesters outside his own palace, that didn't bring about regime change. The second revolution in Russia happened in 1917, after 3 years of fighting the Austro-German empires, with millions of people dead, famines and no end in sight. This resulted in a civil war, which in turn turned into a communist dictatorship. Then the dictatorship only stopped after 70 years of brutal oppression. And the Soviet Union only fell because its leader signalled he would not use violence. Why does the west think that the russians will quickly turn against putin? The russians are not nearly suffering enough. It's the one talent the Russians have, they are well versed in suffering and have not the same level of trust and engagement in other Russians. The revolution is not coming.

I also hope that Parkinson's disease quickly ravages Putin. If you are familiar with Parkinson's disease or at least saw how Michael J. Fox and Muhammad Ali went into neurological decline, Putin VERY clearly is secretly fighting PD without publicizing it to anyone else. At the 4:03 time mark of ths MSNBC video, where Putler is grabbing onto the desk corner to stabilize himself (which he has NEVER done while sitting at his desk in previous years), and also other physical mannerisms during the past two months, Putler clearly has PD. Go watch longer videos of Putler talking to Sergei Shoigu at his desk this past Thursday. Any nurse or doctor familiar with both Parkinson's disease and Putler over the years will tell you that his physical movements during this year just scream PD compared to previous years.

It is interesting how each side makes the same accusations of the other. Myself, I am more anti-NATO and anti-Ukraine than I am pro-Russia; that being said, my understanding is that the Russian Federation is making the only correct descisions there are to make-that is, morally and geopolitically. Their actions have been rational and predictable, and I would argue that it’s only the irrationality and unpredictable of NATO strategists (in conjunction with the Ukranian state) that clouds their view from this. I understand that the United States, NATO and her allied liberal-democracies are the morally-reprehensible menaces of the region: even globally. I also understand this to be a common sentiment across the absolute-majority of Russians, which makes sense considering that I am an Orthodox Christian and that Russia is and has historically been an Orthodox Christian nation.

I have watched Mr. Browder on several interviews and he always says to stop buying natural gas and oil from Russia well that’s easier said than done since you simply don’t change supplies like you do with a mobile phone supplier. There are not that many gas and oil producing countries plus it’s takes years to prepare infrastructure and lots of investment. To ship these products isn’t so easy especially since it’s takes weeks or months and from what I have read there is very few vessels free since they are nearly all in use. Plus not all ports are not set up to unload these products and many countries are landlocked so they face additional issues. In an ideal world I agree stop funding Russia but it won’t happen in days weeks or months. I do agree when he says the change must come within but that to will take time.

It will take a long time, but it's possible. As far as "becoming democratic when Putin is gone" goes, that seems to be pretty much the wildest of wet dreams. The fact that so many educated young people are leaving and may never go back is going to be a real obstacle to positive change, I'm afraid.

Easy. Like all life, people are designed to control their own environment. They are designed to enjoy it, and you seem to be enjoying yourself now. But you have no answer for these people, do you? How would you explain why national identity is a thing to begin with or why it is bad? Or rather, why it is "loaded?"

We have to aid Ukraine. The whole reason for the UN and NATO was to keep larger stronger nations from attacking their smaller less powerful neighbors. The precedent has to go beyond removing Saddam Hussein from Kuwait. The UN and NATO have to make it clear to any would-be despot looking to expand his border to think twice. The people of each nation are responsible for their own leadership but threatening the worlds peace is an international concern and cannot be tolerated if we are to live in a peaceful world. Putin has to be stopped in Ukraine, now.

You're thinking WW1 - economic collapse and immiserisation of the masses, and a crushing military defeat - Germans in Ukraine, Russian armies being routed all across Eastern Europe .... but that resulted in a civil war which then became part of WW1 as the Kaiser successfully provided the Bolsheviks with funds and moral support against the Mensheviks, who had support from an alliance of Western nations and Japan. I am unsure if the EU wants to deal with the results of a Russian collapse.

yes. this has started several years ago, even a decade. in addition, russians are not well-travelled, they don1t really have any idea about foreign countries. if they say the word 'war', they are thrown into prison. young people are more resistant, however, old people want soviet nostalgia. i've seen this in other post-soviet countries. so while it sounds nice that russian can overthrow putin, it's not gonna happen.

@@tylerwilson3172 the bolshevik revolution was only possible due to support from the army(like any successful revolution). Russia's current army consists of mostly poorly-trained conscripts that are more likely to be sent to die in Ukraine than to resist the criminal order; that is because russian army is the tool to break a person's spirit. Compared to that, russian domestic forces(like the police and RosGvardiya) consist of people not only trained to be merciless towards population, but also willing to cause harm to others and get paid for it. It is highly unlikely that the revolution from the bottom will arise, and even less likely that it will succeed.
