*"We don't know how to live together on Earth, how the hell we are going to live together on Mars?" Jacque Fresco*
@erikbakker15314 жыл бұрын
Well, who is this "we" that this Jacque Fresco speaks off? Do "we" not know how to live together on Earth? I know perfectly well how to live on Earth together with other human beings. And you, Fabricio Fercher, you probably do also. You are most likely just a normal person like me, and I think that you have no problems with living on Earth together with other people. Now I do not know who this Jacque Fresco is, but he definitely sounds like a simplistic ignorant fool. Please don't quote such people. Please don't quote people who contribute nothing to this world but the impediment that is their existence. Take care. 🙂👍
@Fabrikoooo4 жыл бұрын
@@erikbakker1531 we is humanity. It is almost impossible to live together with this old and ignorant and ambiguous to open to self interpretation. That is what Jacque is talking about. Now engineering, chemistry, electronics ... don't have that problem because the understanding is based on testing, on a highly degree of physical reference. We need a global techincal culture that work the same way so we can understand each other and have a more accurate understanding of what is happening. How you say things like that from a person that you even know? This kind of free aggression came when the things are not like what we personally prefer, and science doesn't work that way, neither the butcher scale. Know Jacque! If you have the balls, you will grasp a more realistic understanding of life and human problems.
@erikbakker15314 жыл бұрын
@@Fabrikoooo The truth is, "we" know perfectly well how to live together on Earth. The truth is, that the overwhelmingly vast majority of human beings, you, me, and billions of others will never plunder or rape or murder or thwart or destroy anybody. The truth is, there is nothing wrong with humanity. Everybody is just doing the best they can with what they have. And although there might be some problems here and there, none of those cannot be rationally overcome. There is no need for me to inform myself about a man named Jacque Fresco. I am not interested in this person nor in his ways. The reason for this has nothing to do with me having balls or not. The reason I am not interested in the man, is because a quotation like his reveals a psychology of negativity. If a person says "we cannot live together on Mars because we cannot live together on Earth", then he is a) not thinking constructively, and b) not solving any (perceived) problems. Instead of speaking of solutions, he then simply judges humanity to be incapable of living together on Earth. The truth is, I have no trouble living on Earth together with my fellow man, nor has any friend of mine, nor any other person I know of. Once again, you do not have to defend a man with a negative constitution like this mr. Fresco's whom the world does not need. It's best for us to find what makes us come alive and do that. Because if there is anything the world does need, it is people who have come alive. Anyhow, take care. 🙂👍
@Fabrikoooo4 жыл бұрын
@@erikbakker1531 your truth is wrong and it goes far beyond your personal environment. Just look at war, if we can do so much damage we can make so much good but today we don't know how. That is why we all have to learn a technical area so we can understand each like the use of scale. I will defend him and his work because he have the key on how to build a civilized society, which we are not today. 100's of millions of people have die through out history because we don't know how to live together on Earth, because of the unreal values and personal opinion, neither of them useful to bridge the difference. What you don't want to do is change, well look at the universe and you will see change everywhere.
@erikbakker15314 жыл бұрын
@@Fabrikoooo I understand what you mean. Yes there are wars, and mostly for irrational reasons (although some wars are good). Yes there are a lot of irrational values that people pursue. Of course mankind can be seen as an infant, as a child, that needs learning. And this learning, I believe, is a slow process. But I also believe that mankind can solve problems by outgrowing them. "We" don't have to solve problems on Earth first before "we" can go and live on Mars. Maybe going to Mars is part of a solution, who knows. Or yes, maybe in a far away future there will even be a war on Mars. The truth is, "we", at least I, know perfectly well what values are necessary for mankind to live together in peace and harmony and justice. Start with these two: - individual rights - objective law These two values are the plain on which humanity thrives. If you remove just one, then the plain becomes a slope. Now, some people desire the slope. It is very easy to be irrational, and some people desire just that. I do not count on them. I don't care for criminals, I don't care for dictators, I don't care for people that are willfully irrational. I only care for people who are willing(!) to be rational and independent in thought and deed. The truth is, there are very few people that are evil by nature. Most people are benevolent and simply OK. Just misguided perhaps, by irrational values. Individual rights and objective law are values that guide humanity in becoming better, stronger, healthier, and believe it or not, more rational. However, most people do not truly believe in individual rights and objective law. They say they do, but the discipline one needs for that is often too great. Truth is, there is no rational reason not to go to Mars. Mankind does not first have to solve problems on Earth before it can go to Mars. Besides, many problems are not problems at all. It's often a matter of perspective, and a matter of one's standard of value. People are free to chose, unless they believe they are not free to chose. Then they create their own chains and shackles. And yes, it can be a very sad thing to behold. Yes, sometimes I wish that, with a push on a magical button, I could transform the world into a better place, but that is just focussing on what is wrong. I like to focus on what is right in people. And I have learned that, if humans are not motivated by fear, but by rational values like reason, purpose, self-esteem, and rational virtues like justice, honesty, courage, productiveness, then you will find that people are basically good. Sometimes just a little bit lazy perhaps. Summarizing, humans need individual rights and objective law in order to provide them with a world in which they can thrive. Humans need rational values to pursue, and to gain and to keep those values they need rational virtues . Most of all they need the value of self-esteem. Desperately. And people gain self-esteem, for one part, by being believed in. For people need to believe that they are valuable, that they are loveable, and that they are worthy of growing and improving. Nobody ought to tell them that they are bad or evil or primitive. Nobody ought to look down on them. Nobody ought to tell them that they cannot live on Mars because they cannot live on Earth. What people need, is encouragement. People need to be lifted up by praise for their achievements, and by trust in their abilities. What people need, is to believe that they are capable. Any quotation to the contrary misses the point.
