If DB signs TK to a massive extension, itll show me its the same old Flyers. Another GM with no real plan, just the same disjointed half assed retool.

Not easy to Trade Risto because His health and His contract , in the future we need a Guy like him cheaper $ for the defense because we are undersize and not enough physical especially in playoffs Time , Helge Grans, Carter Sotheran, Spencer Gill , Hunter McD onald leftie Will see 🏒🤔

I Said a couple months ago Trade Konecny its Time to Trade big chance to have big Return two young players under 23 maybe, dont fall in love with our players Danny Brière , we dont need another long and bad contract nothing against Konecny I like the player but its Time

@@guidovalenti4986 , some GM will overvalue his size and take him. Maybe for less than we would’ve gotten for him on a better contract and without his injury history. But, when healthy, someone will take him.

I think TK brings more than the point scoring and work on the ice. I think you have a lot of young guys, and Konecny is the kind of guy that they all can learn from and he can show them how to be a professional. Is he worth $10M? I don't think so. I think if he gets a couple of good players around him... he can put up those numbers to make him worthy. But right now, I'd say he's worth $7.5M. If I was him, I'd take a shorter, smaller contract and say "I'm going to show you I'm worth $10M, and in 2 years you'll have to pay it to me to keep me here." Then, go do it and get the long term deal done after showing where your real numbers and real worth are.

I say that the delay is because the team is trying to trade him. Ottawa keeps being mentioned in a deal for Shane Pinto. There would have to be other players / draft picks / money changing hands as well.

Tier 1 players resigning at team friendly levels. I consider Konecny tier 2 level player. He might not give af about team friendly deal. Flyers need to atleast consider possibility of trading him but it can't just be for draft picks...its needs to include emerging under 26 offensive player.

Ideally ... they won't. TK would be a fantastic deadline add to any Cup competitor - he would fetch a HUGE haul. Briere has to know that ...

They have to trade TK and Laughton. What they can get in draft picks or solid young prospects for them is too good to pass up. With six picks in the first two rounds in next years draft and potentially adding to it, they have a chance to really build a solid nucleus for the future. Then as the money gets freed up in the next 2-3 years, that’s when you spend the money in free agency and get players to compliment what they could potentially have. This would be the smart thing to do. But having Torts here trying to win every game like it’s his last makes me weary of this front office doing the right thing.

Charlie explains it starting at 15:16. In short, they can’t bank the cap space to cover bonuses earned this upcoming season. They can bank it b/c the cap is calculated on a daily basis for teams that is then added up based on those daily amounts. If they use LTIR, they end up going over the cap and that carries over to next season and their 25-26 cap gets reduced by the amount they were over for the 24-25 season. This reduces what they can possibly do (whatever that is) during the 25-26 season.
