I’m so grateful to have this mindset at such a young age because it really has changed my whole experience with living. There’s a million things to be grateful for every single day. We get so caught up in achieving our goals and setting new ones as we go that we forget to really enjoy everyday for what it is. I believe true happiness is a combination of all the little things in life. Laughing with loved ones, enjoying a beautiful sunrise, feeling the warmth of the sun, being excited for your morning coffee. Life is such a beautiful experience when you really detach yourself from all the things we’re taught to worry about.

I partially blame social media for the reason we (better yet i) think this way, i been feeling down lately because of my expectations to be so succesful at a young age because of the media, when i should be grateful for what i have now. looking back i was even worse then i am now but way more happier because i didnt expect more, i was oblivious to what happens in peoples everyday life or rappers flexing money everyday, its like nobodies doing bad on social media everybody is doing so good which is a lie.(i know people who live amazing on ig but irl its a diff story) but u see it so much u start to think why am i not living like this unconsciously. atleast i think so

"I feel like most of our worldly desires aren't even given to ourselves by ourselves, they're given to us by the society which we choose to live in". That is something I think that lots of the world nowadays needs to hear because now everybody all wants the same things, they all want to look the same, think about certain things the same and they won't ever truly stick to what they want. It seems difficult especially now in this generation to be true to yourself and do what you want/what you want to have due to everyone's judging perspectives.

At the moment you are focussing on the very top of the top and only their successes not their failures, nobody is perfect no matter how it seems and those who get to those positions of apparent ‘perfection’ don’t get there from pure natural talent. Those who are in those positions will have got there through hardship and effort. You’re already better than 95% of people applying for unis by the fact that you are applying to these competitions and that will set you apart even if you’re not winning them. Universities are looking for people who have a deep interest in their subjects as those will be the best students, not necessarily academically, but the ones who want to do well and you’re showing that right now. So keep trying, don’t get me wrong, but what you’re doing now with the competitions is great! There will always be a bigger fish so try not to get too bogged down on how others are doing and focus on yourself and your academics as once the others are out of the picture you’ll really begin to flourish. I’m sure you’ll get a place, wishing you the best!

I think the best way to look at it is realise that everything is perspective. Comparing yourself to others and what they’ve achieved is the thief of joy. I’m 25 and i was in your exact position when I was 17. Rejections constantly. But you have to remember, life operates on something called the Law of Averages. For every 9 rejections you encounter, that 1 might be the yes you’ve been needing. And in life, all you got to do sometimes is gain that 1 yes for your life to change. You’ve probably had 100 no’s and the next one may be a yes. Listen, if I were to tell you that you had to go through 20’rejevtions and on the 21st you’d get a yes, would you still go through it ? Of course you would, because you already know that your time to succeed will come. But In this life , we never know. But that shouldn’t stop you from keeping on consistent. Consistency is the only thing that will eventually reward you, and if you just keep going, your time will also come. This is your life , and your life only. No one should ever compare to your life because your journey is unique in itself. Keep your head up king and keep going, I promise you’ll get through this, just like you got through the other struggles in your life. I believe in you.

it's the first time someone expresses with words what i've been doing lately with my life. i'm a linguistics uni student but my passion is arts, fashion, drawing and all that creative stuff. i've been doing art just for the sake of doing it, i've been dressing up and making clothes just for the sake of doing it. I don't really care if I get recognized for all that, I don't care about the outcome because when I do I suddenly get a creative block and feel paralized. so maybe i've been detached all along from the outcome without even realizing... great video btw! makes you realize some stuff!

Love your videos, been watching for a while and i can really feel my perspective change, im getting more and more in touch with myself through embarrassing what i want to do and who i am, not what others think of me. Thank you so much, you have no idea how many people you’re affecting positively! I vote keep the podcasts here but you have a strong audience so no matter what, i’m sure it’ll get a great following! keep up the great work :D

Ay bro, discovered your content yesterday, and finally got the advice I needed. I was going through a lot since I turned 17, and since I don’t really have a dad who I can turn to in moments like these, I appreciate the fact that I can look through your content whenever I feel like I need advice from someone respectable

I’m not an open person. Especially about my emotions and it’s extremely rare that I even share anything like this. I cried real tears watching this video. But I wasn’t even sad, I felt like a huge burden was lifted from my shoulders. I have heard these words many times before but now they resonate with me and I understand them. I feel like I have freed myself from the cage that is myself. Not trying to be mystical or anything but this video has changed my life! Thank you

I agree, I feel like doing things from a place f joy is really the most therapeutic way to live. That’s assuming we have a sound understanding of joy or our joys. Becoming action oriented in our authenticity provides us a way to progress, in whatever holistic way we choose for ourselves and our character development. For me, reminding myself to come back to joy and happiness is what helps me initiate the type of life I want to live… maybe for another it will be a different concept like love or compassion. But yes, not responding from/to triggers, fears or consequences - it’s best to redirect one’s attention instead. (Please make a separate channel for the podcast and keep this one for low key talks ❤️)

I'm so thankful this channel exists, I feel like every time I lose myself a little, whether it's from just life stuff or just in general, I come back here and it kinda changes my whole mindset entirely. Thank you for making these videos man.

11:06 “there’s no future self achieve nor past self to over come.” Wow holy shit. This just blew my mind. I deal with OCD so I tend to worry excessively about the future and the past, more so particularly what the past means for my future and vice versa. I’m going to hold on to this quote for a while.
