I would’ve thought that the last card indicating that you are going to be up against it and not know where you’re going would equal no or an unfavourable outcome. My intuition or interpretation would be that you wouldn’t be up against it at the house that you were looking for - was favourable.

In regards to the girl, tarot gives the most likely outcome based on how things are going at the time. Anything can change at any time. If you go deep into quantum physics and the concept of different timelines you can see this

If the question had been "What do I need to know about attending the new school," then perhaps the three cards you showed would indicate that the querent would have to juggle finances to make it happen (2 of pentacles), and in doing so would be struggling under the financial burden so much (10 of wands) that attending the new school would bring heartbreak and disappointment (3 of swords). This would be more valuable for the querent to know that a simple 'yes' or 'no.'

I tried the 5 card and 3 card yes or no spread, as well as the one with the 4 piles/4 aces. In my experience it had a 50-70% accuracy rate (and the aces method was way worse), so I've learned to also read the cards and not just whether they are upright. I'm still learning other methods though.

Yes. I think we should make a point of examining and making sense of the cards that come up. There is also the questioner and the effect of the discussionc on their understanding and point of view. It may be that the educational part of the answer is as important s the ys or the no.

Would you comment about card number 6 in the Celtic Cross spread. I have heard you describe this card as "what will happen" or "what the questioner will have to go through." A E Waite, in his book, "The Pictorial Key to the Tarot" says of card 6, "It shews the influence that is coming into action and will operate in the near future." This seems to me to be a follow on to card number 1, which Waite describes similar to your " atmosphere surrounding the question." Waite says it is "The influence that is affecting the person or matter of inquiry, generally the atmosphere of it in which the other currents operate." So, to me, it seems that card number 6 shows how the atmosphere (from card 1) will change in the near future; .i.e. a transition of the atmosphere surrounding the question, from that of card number 1, to that of card number 6. Your thoughts?

Hi John thanks for the viewpoint. I always tell a querent the cards are as things are now ion the current timeline. And a decision made can change the timeline to a new direction or new answer. Like you said the cards were pointing to some kind of indecision and blocks and that was the story as of today. Obviously something happened to change the friends mind in going to the same school or maybe the friend never intended on going to the same school and the querent was the one who assumed all along. I also believe the person should not have used different spreads for different meaning. So my question to the reader what was your intention in picking the spread? I believe the cards can be confused if your intention is unclear. Perhaps one spread or the other and do not assume all upright mean something, I believe in one of your videos you said do not make the answer what you want it to be. On another note about asking a question for someone else? I was a little surprised as I always assumed you could not do a reading for a third person? So perhaps the question could have been asked differently? Or perhaps the cards were answering the querent issues that she was not conscientiously aware? My interpretation I would have answered I cannot do a reading for your friend but for you there seems to be some underlying issues between the two of you in the pass that need to be cleared and discussed as there currently is some kind of indecision and something is blocking you from understanding your friends wishes.
