Which probably wasn’t my best idea because it got the Legion hunting me at like level 3 plus I needed to use every chem I had to kill them so I was heavily addicted to chems afterwards and being hunted by the legion. New Vegas is the game that just keeps giving.

In all of my playthroughs if I let him live, he ends up dying to radscorpions or giant ants within a minute or two. So if you kill him you're really doing him a favor going out so quick. I guess it is his lucky day. 😉

I killed him at first because he sounds unhinged. I didn't understand what was happening. I usually love to grow conflict for more fights later but he genuinely freaked me out. Like, if I let him go I'd later find him claiming to be the rat kings, rat king. king of a human centipede of enslaved ghouls and I thought. "If something like that happens. I only have so much alcohol in the house. I'm not going back tonight. Not enough booze to create a proper buffer for that sh*t so I better nip this in the bud..."

This attitude cost me the entirety of the honest hearts narrative. I didn't know that first NPC was friendly, I just saw the headdress and popped a grenade off without slowing down. Never started the quest. That whole dlc was like just a big dungeon for me. I even fragged Joshua Graham without having spoken to him or having any idea who he was. But hey, I roleplay, and when I see somebody I don't know running up to me at top speed, out comes the grenade rifle, and I go about my day.

So yeah fun fact, he attempts to run to the strip after, like straight there. He typically dies to the giant ants nearby, if you escort him he runs through Sloan after, then all the way to the strip where upon he gets killed by the Securitons. If they for some reason are not there, he just despawns after entering the strip sadly.

In my first of many encounters with Oliver, I was in stealth/undetected and boom he starts his dialogue and so boom I shot him for creeping up on me. I let him go once out of curiosity just to watch him die to radscorpions. Every playthrough after that, he dies by my hand because of -reasons- raisins.
