Not because you buy them toys and treats or anything material like that. Their just happy that you came home to them. They just want to be with you. They won't judge you (Although I have stories to say otherwise. I had a Red (F) Doberman with floppy ears. People would come up and pet her, then pull back and freak out when I told them she was a Doberman. My brother and I rented and own homes over the years, he was a cat person. My dog was trained by me, she would not take her treats til she was told to. One day my brother told her to sit and stay, put a "Meaty Bone" treat on the floor in front of her and wanted to make he wait a minute while he got a cigarette, he was out so he went 3 block to 7-11 and back. How can you explain to a stranger dog who accompanied us up in the mountains where my father was laid down and it knew exactly where we were going. He also rested there beside my father's tomb. How did the dog know that we were going there? It went there ahead of us. We didn't tell the stranger dog that we were visiting my father's tomb, but somehow, the brown dog knew. And why did it disappear just when we descended the mountain. And you know what, the houses where we asked if they saw a brown dog said they had never seen a brown dog in their area. How did that happen? Miracles happen and I believe in angels and that is why it is important to pray for your deceased loved ones that they may cross the Light and be with God in Heaven.

My APBT recognizes himself and me in the mirror. He learns things after one try. All the dogs in the park chase each other in circles, while he waits on the sidelines so he can make a straight line through and catch the leader. He's the smartest dog I've known. ❤😂

I had a jack Russel. When I was 12 in a new area exploring I threw a stone for her onto what I thought was concrete. It was a tar pool and she started to sink.i climbed in and rescued her. I didn't know how deep it was but got out OK. The owner throwing the log on the fire made me think about it and how a dog will chase things. Like into tar pits or maybe a fire.
