@flamingscar526314 күн бұрын
welcome to the world of internal tools made by devs for devs, SFM wasn't made to be a commercial product, it was made so Valve had a tool to make trailers for source games, its so scuffed because Valve only originally intended themselves to use it, and to this day they make it public "as is" so its still not meant to be a full on animation program, its still built as a thrown together trailer making software, Valve just decided "eh people might find this useful" and released it

I’ve tried to escape SFM for so long, and every day I wake up and pray that I have the strength to make the full switch to Blender. Each and every CUtlRBTree Overflow and lack of sensible hotkeys is a reminder from a higher power that I need to make the switch. In blender, you can change fingers to any position you want with three keystrokes. THREE! It brings a tear to my eye. But that damn Motion Editor… there really is nothing quite like it. Without it, SFM is nothing; without it, *I’M* nothing. Some people say it’s a bad tool, or that it’s “destructive” to the animation. But to me, it’s perfect.
@Hoot9 күн бұрын
Spot on m8, it is however really fast and convenient to make videos with (aside from the downtime due to crashes), especially in the YT-climate where posting videos frequently seems to be the way to go, which is quite challenging with animations.

A little factoid, SP4 Rick May, the voice of Soldier, really served in the US Army. I wasn't able to confirm the exact time of service. The info I did get said he enlisted after college, which was in 1962, and served between 2-3 years. So, I guess it would fall from 1962-1965. He was stationed in Washington D.C, serving as trumpet player for the Army Dance Band. Then he was transferred to Japan, putting on shows for the troops at Camp Zama, and even started dubbing Japanese shows into English. After his passing in 2020, May was interned in the Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington State, Section 3V Row A Site 1.
